My family is blessed to live in a small rural area full of conservative teachers. My wife is conservative. She works across the hall from a pastors wife. The entire school is made of mostly conservatives, with pastors and spouses of republican politicians even working there. Their achievement scores are top notch. I’m also involved in education myself, writing curriculum for private universities and consulting with public schools in a 4 state area. I drive a lot for work but it’s worth it to stay in our small town. Outside of the metro areas and a few close suburbs, the rest of TN, KY, & NC have many more conservative teachers than liberal. However you do run into a few older folks near retirement who hold conservative views but continue to vote democrat because “their daddy did”. The difference is conservative teachers don’t constantly post about political issues on social media. They’re more likely to be spending time with family or enjoying their time rather than complaining.
Well they just lost a lot of business. I just don't understand when companies try and cater to the folks that likely won't even buy their product to begin with. The woke crowd consists of people that will burn your business down before they will buy your product. Most don't even have real jobs and consist of people living off the government or clueless students.
Yeah, as I said to JStaff...you guys who work in education certainly know more than me...but I grew up in a small Kentucky town/county that probably votes 65-70 percent Republican and I'm shocked by the amount of people I grew up with from there who are crazy leftists teachers now.
Most of them still don't live there, most are in teaching in places like Lexington or Bowling Green or bigger cities out of state.

We see that too. Some of my friends children have blown my mind with how they’ve become. Most of the super libs don’t come back or leave because they can’t get hired, usually due to their social media pages when viewed by administration and school based councils or parents. I’ll tell you what all this is doing though. It’s making less conservatives want to get into the education field, which is where we need them the most.
Most of the lefties from rural/small town Kentucky towns are those who are simply rebelling from their parents. They resent their hometown (I can understand this) and they believe they are enlightened so to speak.
Regarding conservatives not pursuing education, it's the same as all of the other industries lefties dominate. They act as gatekeepers to where an open conservative has trouble getting into the fields of media, entertainment, and academia. Lefties only want to hire other lefties kind of similar to how women overwhelmingly like to hire other women.
Having worked 30 plus years in a private sector field on the periphery of the public school setting, I spend a fair amount of time interacting with P-12 school employees. The political demographic of teachers in rural areas is consistently conservative largely due to 3 G issues (God, gays, and guns). However, more and more of them are waking up to the fact that some of these issues are being used to control their votes at the expense of voice in their profession (such as curriculum and working condition issues), as well as personal livelihood (salaries and benefits). The right has forsaken public education, and in some instances downright declared war on it, and teachers are finally realizing it.

You see, it's typical of you to label a stereotype one everyone then conclude well the only way they can think this way is because they are being mislead. When the reality is you don't understand the otherwise whatsoever, you jist conclude arrogantly you do bc its different than what you dogmatically think so it must be the worst. Rinse repeat on every issue. It's why your incapable is separating the system from the employees. Unions have denied science, out children at risk, and straight up refused to let schools operate and you are okay with it bc they vote the same as you. You don't care about thie kids. The same as why you can't come up with a coherent argument against school choice which directly funds students and families not institutions. The same as why you can't make a coherent argument against why it's the job of the state to educate, not try to make individuals think the way the state wants. Or why you ignore that ever since the department of Ed was created education has gotten worse and worse, and yet we keep funding it more but you can't possibly look at any subject with nuance and say huh, weird why the money isn't making it to teachers and instead unions, board of educations, and home offices, and they keep getting larger and paid more. And the reason is bc..."da librul I like says they need more money, so it is good, so conservative actually just trying to take money bc bible and cuz if disagree it mean bad not bc they got other idea" as opposed to hey why not learn some efficiency and how things are actually operating.
You sound like one of these pathetic cops who thinks they can't be criticized ever bc we don't understand what they do so they don't ever look to improve. Have any of you ever watched the old 90's TV series Sliders? It's about a group of people that are bouncing around from different Earths using a wormhole but they have no control at which Earth they end up on.
The second episode is on an Earth where communism took over the United States. It hits close to home with the way the government was controlling everything and coming around to arrest or execute (not quite to that point yet) the ones that don't go along with it.
All of the American patriots were part of an underground resistance trying to put a stop to it. While the liberal types were the ones that joined in with the communists. Feels like that will be our country if things keep going the way they are.

Not that it matters or that anyone cares but in the sake of honesty...in a previous post about teachers, I said an ex-girlfriends sister (who is a teacher and posts a lot leftist things on social media) left her husband for a transgender...that may not be accurate, she left her husband (they have multiple kids) for someone who is a woman but now has made themselves try to look manly. Could be just a lesbian relationship and one is really really butch..
Can only think of 2...maybe 3 teachers when I was in school that showed a lot of political preference at all back in the day...when I think back now, I do remember maybe 6 or 7 really amazing educators...didn't mean I was always listening but in hindsight I think they were great at their job.
There was an assistant football coach who taught social studies in high school...that dude didn't give one sh-t about teaching, all the students loved that class...watched a lot of movies that semester. This bad boy was rolled in all the time...

I know exactly what you mean about a lot of teachers. I retired from teaching 4 years ago. I coached football, basketball, and track. The majority of new teachers don’t want to do anything outside of their normal school schedule and most of them lean heavy to the left. One student who’s mom is a divorced teacher told me that his mom would vote for Hitler before Trump. I asked about his dad, and he said that his dad is smart, he’s a Republican. If we haven’t lost our country yet, it’s only a matter of time with how our youth are being indoctrinated. Sad times.
