Plz delete Im depressed enough

What a run, with four series victories in a row, and maybe a fifth!!

This was an historic late season run that will be remembered for decades.

With only 14 games left in a shortened season, and stats guys giving them less than a 20 percent shot, they clinch a playoff spot WITH TWO OF THE 14 GAMES LEFT!!

Wow!

Bring on the Damn Yankees!!
10-2 their last 12 in the clutch!!!
Thats unheard of!

Reds will go for first winning season in 7 yrs tomorrow night with Castillo going and Luis is hotter than Bauer these days!

No pressure now either!

Cats at noon and Reds at 7!

Im stoked!!!

I love you Dad and miss you already and I wish you could have hung on to see the Red October but I’ll root doubly hard for the both of us!

Reds are 12-4 their last 16 games. Thats .750 baseball for 16 games.

That is the definition of a September playoff push.

In 1st rd of playoffs Reds rotation will go

Game 1 Trevor Bauer 1.73 era
Game 2 Luis Castillo 2.86 era
Game 3 if necessary Sonny Gray 3.73 era

Thats not a bad deal!

Hell yes! So happy they got in.
If they get the Braves things look really nice.
BG79, Im thinking I want SD snd here is why:
The Friars top 2 pitchers Clevinger and Lamet are injured. Pads are optimistic about Lamet but you know how that stuff goes.

Reds would need to finish 2nd in Central to get the Pads.

Tears of joy in my household last night. Incredible run by this team. We’re not done!
Drew this is a very dangerous team as the pitching staff (starters and relievers) are rolling and the lineup is healthy and producing. Plus, the momentum is building and road games are not true road games with no fans! I think the Reds have as good a shot as anyone to win it all, including the Dodgers!

PS Having the lefty Miley healthy and out of the pen to go along with the lefty Garrett could be big too as the Reds are limited regarding left handed pitchers.

completely agree on all of your points.

-Shogo at the top getting on base and made a huge difference
-Moustakas is absolutely rolling and his timely hitting is contagious
-The bullpen has been revamped. No more Nate Jones, Cody Reed, Brooks Raley, Pedro Strop, etc...Other than Robert Stephenson, we’ve been nails lately. Even Sal Romano with his new arm slot
-Trevor Bauer will be the first CY Young winner in Reds history
-David Bell, while I’m not the biggest fan, has made great decisions down the stretch. Playoff baseball atmosphere seems to be his strength since he likes a quick hook and a lot of subbing

I’m pumped to watch and see what we can do

10-2 is such a phenomenal pressure packed run that has to be one of the best clutch September stretches is baseball history.
So excited!

Sorry about your dad man. I lost my mom 3 years ago next month who watched every game, even the August/swp ones when eliminated from playoffs and I can’t wait for some playoff baseball

Thanks nku. Im sorry about your Mom. My Dad was a Sgt. in the Army with basic training at Ft. Knox, Ky and his Dad fought at Iwo Jima as a US Marine. We had a service for him yesterday at a National Memorial and when they played TAPS it got my sister and when they unfolded and started refolding the US Flag it got me.
Go Reds!

Bauer is my favorite Reds pitcher since Jose Rijo.

The last time we were in the playoffs our win percentage was much higher, but this team is built better than those for a postseason run. I never felt like those previous Reds playoff teams were true contenders, while this one truly is.

Reds are 12-4 their last 16 and 10-2 their last 12 to go from 18-24 to 30-28, clinching a playoff berth, stoping 6 straight seasons of losing baseball and have a chance today with Castillo on the bump to secure 1st winning season since 2013!
Have a shot to finish 2nd...one if my best buddies is estatic!

Yeah man that’s tough for sure. Never imagined mom would pass at 52. She was a true reds fan. Would tell me stories about catching the bus from nky over the Cincinnati in middle school and high school growing up to see the big red machine and early 80s teams.

The new(er) guys have made quite an impression starting with Bauer and Moose but don't underestimate what Lorenzen's resurgence has done to this bullpen. Also Mahle gets a ton of credit for his growth this year when they really needed him to step up with the injuries to Disco and Miley.

Go Reds!

Because we have more quality pitching now SP and Relievers than maybe, wait for it, ever before or at least since 1990!

Congrats to the Reds, meanwhile my Cardinals are attempting to screw up their own playoff chances. Also I love Bauer, brutally honest and an amazing pitcher

Cardinals need to win one more to get in? I'm not sure as they are only playing 58 games. Despite my harsh criticism of the team making it would be impressive due to crunched schedule.

Congrats to reds and hope they do well. I dont have the hatred for reds or even the cubs that some do. I hate the Yankees and red Sox way more. I did root for Indians in 2016 world series but that was more due to my love for the major league films as a kid lol.

Dad took the fam from Bullitt Co. Ky in 1975 to see the BRM and Ive been a fan ever since! I can remember walking across the Ohio River bridge and eating in a downtown cafe, then walking to Riverfront Stadium and seeing that massive edifice as a near 9 yr old and to this day Im still in awe.

Sucks that this is probably the last we will see of Bauer. If he wins the Cy he’s going to be able to shop himself to the highest bidder. He will be a yankee, Cub or Dodger next year. Wish the Reds could afford him for a couple more years.

Win it all and I’ll hold the door for him.

Ehh, 2 losses at braves. It will be over quick. Next post season appearance in 10 years.

The hottest team in baseball.

The Braves better tighten up their game!!

Bauer has repeatedly said he’ll sign only one year contracts, and that might be a favor to the Reds, who could pony up a huge annual salary, for a season or two more, without getting stuck with a Homer Bailey contract.

At Atlanta with all their fans right? WRONG
The Reds went 12-4 their last 16 regular season games for the first time in 40 yrs (Circa 1980). The Reds 1990 World Championship team wasnt even this hot going into the playoffs.
Shrug these red hot Reds off if you want to but you may live to regret it!

Hey baseball people, questions.

I date back to “pennant” days.

If the Reds beat Atlanta, are they then in “the Elite 8?” Would the next series against either the Cubs or Marlins be 3 games and all on the road?

Is the NLCS seven games, some in each city??

This could get very interesting.

The Reds did this unlike any time in their history. Sure, they had some good pitching in the 70’s and late 30’s, and had the greatest relievers in baseball in the early 90’s, but this seasons’ Reds are the first team in history to have more walks than hits. Starting pitching is their strength and the bats have come alive the last two weeks!
