It’s kind of weird that we are both on the 50% bubble, etc., etc.
Looking at Nate Silver’s 538, I’m guesstimating (without much current knowledge of baseball), that taking 2 of 3 from the Brewers, and just one of three on the road, thereafter, would likely punch the Reds’s ticket, at 30-30, and should the Reds take 4 of the last 6, and finish 31-29, it’s almost damn certain.
What would some good signs be entering this bizarre finish? Maybe stuff like players settling into their historic roles, aka, Joey Votto having an .800 on base percentage at crunch time, and pitchers who killed us at the beginning, lowering their early astronomically high ERA’s the last two weeks in Iglesias and Lorenzen.
Baseball is the polar opposite of football. FB is linear. . . the biggest and fastest simply win 95% of the time.
