NIL doesn't work like that anyway. Oscar might have been able to get $8 mil or more. The university couldn’t guarantee that even if they wanted to. Nor could they stop it if someone was willing to pay it.
Nor is Oscar upset with Cal about anything.

A couple of things. I’m not getting into a Shaq vs Oscar argument. As far as a pro career, Oscar isn’t in the same galaxy as Shaq even with all of Shaq’s flaws. My comment about pick and roll was in tongue in cheek. As far as Pilgram, I have no idea whether anything he says is true nor do I care.
This is way over the top and very overly dramatic. Oscar was out of here before the year started, maintained his stance, and those who were leeching off him may have asked for an insane amount but Tshiebwe wanted to move on.
I don't get into the "sources" business but I maintain my friend is pretty accurate with the things he shares and he never had any issue with telling me Oscar is gone and everyone knows it. This was prior to the season. When the rumors go back and forth.....those who stay consistent usually end up correct. So I'd repeatedly ask when others were saying they heard different and he said "He's gone". If you are going to talk about Tshiebwe, the #1 point to bring up is his age. He's older than reported and he wants a chance to play Pro ball. It's not a vindictive departure, it's listening to what NBA people told him which is at his age and if he wants a legit chance to get drafted at all or have a shot to make a team, it's best to go now.
Now if you talk about Calipari's handling of this, I think it was fear Oscar would go elsewhere in the Portal and it's why he allowed this to drag out. How else do you go against your own quote of "I expect all the Seniors to leave" and "I'm looking forward to have two 7'0 on the court together" by hanging in with a guy who had told you he was gone before the season and reiterated his wishes. Hell Pilgrim reported that Oscar wanted to pursue the Pro route too. Now comes the dramatic report to sensationalize a situation that was basic and known. I commend Oscar for doing what he wanted to do and sticking to his word. He never wavered. Those around him are a different story and I'm convinced Cal just wanted to make sure it was Pro ball and not a PR hit of him ending up at a different program.

Well we got to have players,even adding those 3 its still depressing.We would likely be the 5th or possibly 6th best team in the SEC with our 10 man roster.
This sounds like we have great locker room guidance. We don't like Cal anymore, players hated each other because NIL money, plus we lost every big game. Can't wait to the Big Blue Madness speech from Cal. Complete chaos it is year after year now.

We didn't lose every big game. I recall beating UT when they were ranked high on the road. Providence was also a big game they won. If k state was a big game then so was providence.

Kaluma is a lot better than people give him credit for, superstar no but solid player either way, but if you can add any 3 form the 4 mentioned and you atleast can field a competitive team

Wheeler's subtraction was the best thing for this past year's team and the program moving forward.
Employers put caps on players, even the NBA has a cap the first 3-4 years, this gets fixed or NCAAB is history - you now like tampering that the pro leagues don‘t even allow.
I believe the reeves stuff now, and they have to reach out to somebody and the names mentioned are gettable for Kentucky if they really go after them, which they should
