Just my WAG, but I think he was set to go to KU before the AS games. Then he bonded with Skal, and saw how well the UK guys set him up, then met with Cal and got all conflicted. If I am right, that AAU's insider info means jack squat.
His "source" is Brandon Bender, who has been saying for a while we're not getting any of the remaining guys were recruiting.
It doesn't take a huge stretch to say that - none of the guys we are still after are Nike guys. They are Adidas/UA guys with a lot of influences pushing them to anywhere but a top Nike school like UK.

I'd say he has no source,, and he got the Bender info from over on Loserville Scout just as I got that same info there..
I have no sources, but I'd say Murray and Mulder are likely, and UK fans will be giddy over the backcourt. If we do not pick up another front court player though people will worry. I would say that the ones we have are not chop liver, but they all certainly need to improve (Lee, Willis) come back strong from injury (Poy) and be who we think they are (Skal as top recruit and a force like Okafor/Towns this year). We had a deep and so "awesome" front court last year and did not win it. I think our guards would be better with Murray, Briscoe, Ulis, Matthews and Mulder.

Just kidding. There is no way an AAU guy knows where every recruit is going. That's absurd. It may prove true (being that it has already been widely reported), but no one has the inside track on every all-american and a JUCO to boot. Tell your friend he's full of shit.

No way. It's pretty easy to assume a single AAU guy out of Paducah rubbing elbows with all the basketball elites around that area would have direct inside access on where every single five star recruit this year is going to school. I'm talking having his finger on the pulse from Ontario Canada, to Long Island NY, to Marietta GA, to Kinston NC and who knows where elsewhere. Totally legit.

Murray had Oregon a leader a year ago and we was tied for second with two others. We just now made a strong push. How would anyone know what the Murrays are thinking unless you live with them?
Diallo said he had a lot to think about after Cal visited him earlier this week. Unless you live with Diallo, how would you know what is on his mind?

Brown has been rumored to UCLA forever and now Michigan a possibility. We have never really felt we would get him.

Murray would tickle me. I'm beyond good with our team with Murray. Anyone else is icing on the cake. We need a scorer on the perimeter to go with Briscoe and Ulis.

Given your info? You wouldn't happen to have gotten that info from the Kansas board would you? Because I suspect that's where you regularly post. Anyways, have fun with that.
I think everyone is basing the OP's post on Cal's track record. We have the number 1 in Skal and add Briscoe and Mathews that in itself is a good haul. We still have missing pieces but I have to admit none of the media crap the last few days has looked favorable for us. Hopefully we get Diallo and add Mulder, maybe Murphy and call it a day.

My experience tells me this. The best sources (for us) are those connected with the actual UK team. Meaning the actual UK players. The aau coaches don't know, unless its the actual coach of the player. Not knocking you OP. I have some of those connections, and a couple years back PPatt then Kyle Wiltjer gave me some info that I shared here. I shared 5 things, 4 were dead on and 1 was wrong. The one that was wrong was Andrew Wiggins to UK. But according to Kyle, Wiggins told the UK players he was coming but changed his mind after meeting with Jarence Howard one last time. Also, one of the other things I shared was that Kyle himself would not be back to UK and would transfer to Gonzaga. But Kyle was waiting a few weeks to announce it. So, when he was asked about it by Allan Cutler Kyle initially denied it and I was lit up by many people here. And I kept saying, yes Kyle WILL still transfer. 2 weeks later he announce it.
My point is this, if you have a real source, a real one, connected to the actual TEAM share it. But be ready to be basted. AND even if you are right people will just say you had a lucky guess. But be careful on sources. Generally, people that work for the school don't know. And generally AAU coaches of other teams are usually just guessing based on what their players are telling them. I will tell you this much, all I am hearing is that we WILL get 1 for sure (Mychal) but that's including the jucos and reclasses. Not necessarily the 5 star high school seniors. I will also say that the entire program, was shocked about Zimmerman. He threw a major change of heart curve at us all. And I know that Jaylen Brown is still very much in play to be a cat. I hope he pulls the trigger but it is not by any means final. Im just saying its quiet but there is a definite shot very much still alive more than people are talking about. Cheik Diallo statement about being confused and frustrated was because he had all but decided to come to UK but then Slice leaves. Now he's torn between UK, Slice (not necessarily St. Johns), or just going with Kansas all together.

Geez guys, leave the guy alone. Its ridiculous actually!! He is just passing along info that he has heard from someone that he thinks is fairly reliable. He is saying that its a fact like some guys like Caneintally, yet you try to completely discredit this guy and hardly say anything when Cane says that Newman is a lock, Zimmerman is a lock, and Brown or Ingram is a lock. Just using him as example but there are others who claim to actually KNOW things but this guy has stated from the start that he's just passing info that he heard. Now, just take it for what its worth and move on. I am starting to believe that we may miss out. I want Diallo and Murray! I don't necessarily believe this guys source when it comes to Murray cause I think UK is leading for him and if he reclassifies then its obviously for us.
To be honest i learned you have you use the IMO like a zillion times or people mistake predictions for some thing more . I have made sure to use IMO like a zillion times the past 5 days as to avoid anyone getting their panties in a bunch . One thing no can ever excuse me of is saying i had one iota of a source as never have and never will , and for that i am thankful as yall treat sources like shit around here . Hell you treat Uk fans who have confidence in the Cal and make predictions worse then shiate around here. So to the OP i hope you know what you are doing . Guys like TY have proven their sources and we follow them pretty religiously as UK means alot to alot of people.
Well that narrows it down. There can't be more than 200,000 to 500,000 people that know Kenny Payne and are connected to AAU. Now I'm convinced this info is legit.
I can understand why people get pissed off sometimes. We get people saying things as if they know for a fact a lot here and often they contradict each other. Sometimes the people get all coy and act like they can't reveal their source when they really don't have any. It can get annoying. Most of the time, people such as yourself, don't mean to be teases or anything, but some people don't spend a lot of time on the board and aren't able to separate the wheat from the chaff.
I think it's always prudent to qualify what you are saying, whether it's speculative or based on actual inside info. I probably don't do it all the time myself, but like you I am trying. Anyway, someone who comes in here with no real posting history and starts a thread like this is basically asking for it. At best he just needs to learn how to present information, and at worst he's trolling.
Lots of people share information here. Virtually all of it is terrible.

Reading this, you seem to be somehow affiliated with the team, or have some other insider source. Are you comfortable describing your situation, without specifics of course? Also, the info you posted seems to be at odds with what you posted in another thread. In that one, you said that Brown was up in the air, but "not UK", and here you said we are in play for him. Also, you said that Diallo was going to St John's, but here you characterized it as his having decided on UK and is now on the fence since Slice left. And do you think this last meeting by St John's will change his mind if he is still planning on picking UK? Was Slice present? Thanks.
