No Fouls on Auburn in the last 9:18

Thanks for confirming we live rent free in your head.

It's really embarrassing for a blueblood basketball program to have its fans resort to living vicariously through another school's success in a completely different sport to try and cope with a loss. Please stop.
Come Saturday, CowCollege94 will disappear and we won't hear from him again since most of us will be dead by the time Auburn makes it this far in the tournament again.

Did you watch the game or just giving information? The officials missed as many fouls on us as they did them.

Fans seem to always overlook the misses when we foul. Washington blocked a dunk by missing the ball completely and getting all wrist. Johnson made a layup while hooking the defender with a chicken wing. Travis got 2 rebounds after having both hands in the back of the other player. 2 hands on defenders in the post.

It goes both ways.

This one, uh NO nice try

Yeah on that final possession of regulation we got beat to death under the basket and no whistle.

And Harper got every call because he’s small. He drove on Herro for a layup once and full left arm hooked him. Could have squeezed his ass he had reached around so far.

That said, we didn’t play our best basketball and didn’t deserve the win. But I don’t feel Auburn deserved it either, just got a favorable whistle.

I thought we did exactly what we needed to do on that last possession but ended up failing to get a call.

Objective observer here (Purdue grad/fan): It is impossible that Auburn did not commit a foul for 9:18. I think it's impossible for any basketball team to not commit a foul for that long of a period.

Also, Jim Spanarkel was just short of openly cheering for Auburn. It must still be uncomfortable for him to sit after the whipping Givens and the Cats put on him in '78.

The lowest foul rate teams in the country still foul ~ 1 in 5 possessions.

so where does he make contact with the ball? I'm not being an ass... honest question

CBS showed the slow motion replay and he hit the ball with a couple of his fingers then the arm. In live action I thought we got away with one too.

Even so still does explain how an aggressive defense that hacks and slaps constantly like AU doesn't commit a foul in the final 9 minutes of regulation.

Again, why do you guys think this is a winning retort? We're used to people like you saying we're going to lose. We know we aren't ever going to be UK, Kansas, UNC or Duke in basketball where we can chalk up a deep run in the tournament every season anymore than a UK football fan has any illusions or regularly winning the SEC title and going to the College Football Playoff. But like that UK football fan, it doesn't change a damn thing in terms of how much I will revel in this when it happens.

Virginia might beat us. Then again, everyone seemed to think Kansas, UNC and Kentucky would too, so not sure I'd place a ton of stock in those prognosticators.

You had less fouls called and knocked Jared into the 3rd row several times... like I said, the game flows. Fouls even out except when you play Duke.

That is one of the most telling stats of this game. That swarming, hacking, slapping, undercutting defense didn't foul? I call BS

We should have shot 10-15 more FTs this game. Even at our awful rate of 60%, thats 6-9 points that we lost.

They let us play physical too, but against a spread the floor and shoot or drive team, they benefit WAY more from the no calls.

13 FTs first half, 4 second half.
Lol, good ‘ole NCAA officiating. Told my wife during the game that they were calling way too many fouls on AU, and that they were going to swallow the whistle the second half (when it counts). Behold, I counted more fouls on AU the second half, some so egregious (you know the ones) that I just responded with the Middle Finger.

You show a picture and think that makes your point? You can throw insults, that is fine. Just go watch the replay. The announcers called it out.

WRONG you said he hit him across the wrist, this showed his hand wasn't close to the wrist and was a great block.

We fouled some and didn't get called, but changing how the game was called in the second half was pure crap. We need to get to the line for our strategy, AU doesn't as much. It didn't even out. We we locked out of a major part of our offense by three old men for the final 9 minutes of the game. We were fouled 3-4 times on the last play alone.

Nobody smart thought Kansas was going to beat you.

Most Kentucky fans realized that this would likely be the most difficult game against AU this season.

We would have been better served had we played and lost to AU in the SEC tourney final.

That's a still shot, on replay it shows him block the shot.

If you all are going to pick plays than get an actual bad call.

The replay even showed what a great block it was.

I'm on a secure network and was at a party so I'm a little behind... I didn't see or hear that

Will see....nice knowing you.

Yes, Spanarkle, a dUKe grad who's best team was beaten by UK in the 70s, and was openly cheering for AU called it out. He called out as a slow motion replay showed PJ hit the ball before the arm.

pics of fouls?

Look... you got every single call for the first 15 min and you're mad you didn't get the same BLUE BLOOD treatment in the second half... I get it... but it's your fault you didn't shoot well enough in the 1st half to put the game away. You also had 64% more turnovers than us. That's not going to win in the Elite Eight... once again, you should know that

I'm not a photographer. Go to YouTube pull up a replay and just watch the last possession. There's 3-4 easy there.

And yes, I know we played awful yesterday. We don't shoot as many 3s, hits a few FTs, play our rim protectors more when Harper was getting to the rim and we win. Also get to shoot a few of the 10+ FTs we were robbed of over the last 9 minutes and we win.

Our poor play definitely cost us, but so did the officials changing how the game was called. A foul in the first 5 minutes should be a foul in the last 5.

your responsibility since you are claiming fouls that didn't happen.

We didn't play our game or well either... AU overcame the adversity and figured out a way to win. Our bad

we beat you. we played your game and won. it's ok to admit defeat.

our guard play destroyed yours

your big men outplayed ours, but not by much.

It was a great game. Sorry you lost and are mad. But it's going to be ok

Actually not mad about it, I knew PG play was a weakness for us.

Glad we made it as far as we did.

Of course, if the first 75% of the game had been called evenly on the both ends of the floor, we'd have shot 10+ more FT too. And given that we were actually hitting ours, it would have negated any extra FTs you got in the final 9 mins.

Stick with your opinion. Your wrong, but at least you feel confident.

While I am not blaming the refs on this one, that stat is ASTOUNDING for a game that went to Overtime! That was a very physical game, and UK was sure getting called with fouls.

There were some eye-witness reports on live blogs that Cal was getting into it with ref Roberts during a timeout. Cal was upset about the lack of fouls and the disparity between the way both teams were being called. I would like to see video if anyone has them.

By the way, Roberts was on the whistle for our OT loss to Seton Hall this season.

Here’s an old article about his first Final Four (2014). http://www.ncaa.org/static/champion/earning-the-call/#sthash.6SJC4ObW.dpbs

I hadn’t seen this article previously, but none other than his co-worker John Higgins is quoted. One notable quote, on a call Roberts missed and Higgins reviewed, “We’d have been roasted if we hadn’t looked,” Higgins says. And also “‘It’s what happens in the second half that everybody is going to remember,”’ Higgins says later.” Since last year’s Luckie-officiated loss, and hearing him on video saying “the last four minutes is what really matters...nobody remembers the first 36 minutes...” (https://kentucky.forums.rivals.com/threads/jamie-luckie-and-kentucky.263353/page-2#post-6804184) it is insight into their officiating style to see that Higgins echoes the same sentiments. I wonder if Roberts does, as well?

I truly believe if some of you were given a plate of spaghetti and we’re told it was steak you would claim it the best steak ever.

Watch the replay. The game was on again last night at 130. It will be on again today.

You keep telling yourself that.

I was telling my family, as we were watching... well, they've called 3 or 4 fouls on all their big men, but I wonder if they will actually call the 5th on any of them, and they didn't. I was also saying, with about 7 or 8 minutes to go, "They're done calling fouls on Auburn." And they were. They didn't call another foul on Auburn, despite the fact that we were taking the ball inside on nearly every trip. And that last possession of regulation, we were hacked about 3 or 4 times. They just weren't going to call another foul. It's that simple. And any Auburn fan who thinks differently needs to watch the tape again and take off the blinders.

Auburn, congrats on your first Final 4 in program history. And you guys beat UK..thump your chests all you want but when doing so just remember..you thumping your chests says more about UK than it does anything else. Nothing better than beating the G.O.A.T....at least when it comes to the game of basketball, huh ? And just remember, UK is still 94-20 vs. Auburn all time. You're still one of our bitches. UK is still your Daddy. Enjoy your biggest win in program History over the G.O.A.T. of College Basketball. We'll see y'all again in Rupp Arena next year. Mark it down on your calendar like every other team circles the UK game on their calendar. :sunglasses:

OMG if you're going to pick a narrative at least pick one with facts.

I gave you a picture you claimed PJ hit him across the wrist and never touched the ball. The picture shows his hand was in front of his arm and about to hit the ball.

But keep pressing it if you want, I'm done with your silliness.

You gave a stagnant photo and said see no foul.

I can show a hundred pictures that show the same thing. Guess what? They were called fouls.

Go watch the replay.

No I gave proof you have no clue what you're talking about.

The problem is, it didn't go both ways. How many fouls were called on Ky in the last 9 minutes, as opposed to zero on Auburn?

Yes Au congrats. You beat us no doubt. But your team in yhe first half lived outside, never went to the basket and were still drawing fouls on us. Second half yall went imside more amd drew more fouls on us.

Second half we went inside majority of the last 10 mins and got no fouls called on Au going inside every other posession for 10mins, no damn fouls. Thats all I needed to know.

I'm not sure UK deserved to win but I can think of four very tight NCAA games where the actions of the officials tilted the game to the eventual winner.

Another poster with 9 posts. Why don't you guys go celebrate with others of your own kind, instead of coming over here trying to start something? A lack of success over the past 35 years makes you come over here to gloat? We have as many final fours as Auburn has appearances and you want to come over here and talk trash? It simply shows the level of fans for Auburn.
