NBA Draft HotelBlue Winner!

I could say a lot about this, but the first thing is Khris Middleton.

He's a 50-40-90 guy?!?!?....did you even see him in the playoff? He shot 39%/35%/82%, he was atrocious. His effective FG % was 45%, which would be lower than all the starters on the Miami heats team. He was a no show, and anyone who saw the playoff knows that he was just bad. Congrats on his regular-season awards? but he can't do shit when it counts. Top 25-30, lol...

The second point related to Khris is the fact that you compared to the warriors at the beginning of their run? Are you talking about when they won the title or losing in the first round? You do realize their roster has Klay and Draymond, with Harnes and Bogut(who was an all-defensive team). While having Iggy coming off the bench, who was finals MVP. Warriors had a lot of proven players coming off...

If playing poorly in the playoffs means a player isn't good, I'm not sure you're making the case for Giannis that you think you are.

Besides, that's my point. Giannis gets shut down and things go sideways for the other guys. Of course they don't play as well, the opponent doesn't have to respect Giannis in a series when they can put an entire gameplan in for him from night to night.

And finally, my point about the Warriors is similar to my point about the Bucks. Because of their construction, they have the room to have more plus players than a team like the Lakers that has two megastars and a bunch of vet minimum contracts. You're making my point for me. Obviously the Warriors are/were better, but they still have absurd depth alongside an MVP candidate.

One team won despite a much tougher road, while the other got embarrassed. Wonder what the difference in their best player was?

just didn't realize he was so popular here. lol

I would say, he is in the top 8. Not sure where exactly he would fit in for me.

but yeah, him being 25 REALLY helps.

Jokic won me the vote last time we did this. But yes at 25 he's a perfect fit for a 7 year stretch run. Just got to make sure the pieces around him are good.

See, I thought of taking him, but I got crucified last time we did a draft because of his injuries moving forward. And that was only looking ahead FIVE years.
He’s only 29 so he still has 3-4 prime years left & when he’s healthy he’s one of the best 3 players in the league IMO. He can control the game on both ends & is as clutch as anybody in the league. So the risk is worth the reward to me. But I thought we were supposed to assume these guys will all stay healthy. Even if that isn’t the case I couldn’t pass on him at 6 & will happily take my chances with him. Plus, I already decided I’m not gonna out think myself on the 7 year thing.

The health and decline of players has always been in my drafts. It isn't something you can really ignore from a production standpoint. It would be different in a 1 year draft.

But no Kawaii is a good pick you just need to build a team and try to make an argument that your team dominates those first 4 years. Will help if you get a young superstar on your next pick.

I run it through a randomizer and have it emailed to another member of the draft for fairness

It’s not very random for me though. I’ve done 4-5 of these now & have landed squarely in the middle in every draft, lol. When I gave @UKNorse my email I almost said I’m looking forward to the 6th pick bc I had no doubt which slot I was getting. I’m not complaining or anything, it’s funny at this point.

Lol you may want to take your complaint up with https://www.draftordergenerator.com/

But that is funny! I don't think I've had a top 3 selection myself... now @GonzoCat90 has always had a good pick

I know it’s for the next 7 years, but if I can go ahead and lock up 2-3, straight, I like my chances at having the most titles in the 7 year span. Give me Lebron James

you have steph and Lebron...which is basically a title for next 3-4 years. lol, you win.

He wouldn’t have made it past me if you didn’t take him. I can’t stand LBJ but he’ll play another 4-5 years IMO & will be elite til he retires. Nice pick.

I don't think it's that easy. You're punting years 3-7 because you'll never replicate that value. The rosters are static. You can't just fill the max contract void like a real team could.

And if Steph isn't right or ready yet in year one, that's an awfully small window you're banking your hopes on.

Someone had to take him, but he'll be 36 when this imaginary process starts.
