I like that kind of thinking. Face it,the Championship means very little to these kids. It's for bragging rights for the fans. Do you think N'awlins Noel gave two shits that his torn ACL put UK in the NIT? Hell nah. (Probably was a little sad at moving from 1 to 6 in the draft).

I say wish it and hope it happens. I mean, I doubt our wishes/thoughts have any influence on this stuff anyways, so why not wish what you want.

Win out and we should get a #1 seed. Michigan loosing to the Spartans really helped out. Their RPI is higher...or was higher. But that loss gives us the edge.

However...if we get a #2 seed we very well could wind up playing in the YUM Center for the first two rounds. Maybe that's a better route???

I'm thinking 1 seed in midwest bracket. UNC will be our 2 seed. Maybe Duke and Virginia get some separation from each other and we can get the YUM Center. Still will have UNC as our #2.

Cal has these guys clicking. Best team we've had since 2015.

Some (mostly) positive takeaways from an otherwise crappy game...

<> I had the dumpster fire gif working in the bull pen all game long.

<> My boy Nick had a good game playing the most minutes he has played all season. He still can't catch the ball worth a damn and isn't much of a threat on offense but I will take 15 boards and 3 blocks coming off the bench. Not to mention 7 points from that lobster-handed, no-offense-having mofo including 3-4 from the stripe. We are going to need him playing well on defense and on the boards if we are gonna make a run at #9. This stretch without Jamaal Reid is gonna do nothing but help that progression. #BlessingInDisguise

<> Herro was a beast tonight. Without him we lose that game bigly. Herro needs to do a better job of getting open on press offense at the end of a game when the other team is looking to foul. He got lazy at the very end. Need the ball in his hands and him at the stripe in that situation. But he had a great shooting night on a bum foot. He has improved so much this season. Especially on the defensive end. His confidence is through the roof right now. I repeat...confidence remains high.

<> More than a little worried that Herro said his injury was Achilles related. That's the type of deal that can linger. He probably won't be able to walk on it in the morning. It will loosen up throughout the day with stretching and movement but it will probably nag him the rest of the season. Hopefully it's not too serious.

<> Cal needs to send a manager to scrounge around the Wildcat Lodge garage and attic for Shepherd's hyperbaric chamber boot. Dust that mofo off, pump it up and slap it on Herro's foot. Stat!

<> If I am game planning against the Cats I press them for 40 minutes. Man to man all out denial. Our press offense is horrible. And we don't particularly handle the ball well against pressure...even Hagans looks shaky at times and he is our freaking starting PG. The inability to handle full court pressure defense will probably wind up being the death of this team. Fix it...NOW!!!

I hope Hagans got whatever was on his hands last night washed off by Saturday.

There was no way we lose to that team at home last night. Was never worried. If it was @ Arkansas, probably lose by 15 and Cal would have been gone by halftime.

Shoot Herro and Travis full of 1977-football-style pain injections and get back on the court.

Obviously I want to win against UT, but I think we’ve made or point. Go 2-1 and make the finals of the SEC tourney and we should still be the top 2 or last 1 seed. Fine either way. Of course, win out and we have a case for #1 overall. #eatshitgonzaga
