Wait. You hate the Patriots but like the damn Yankees?
I’m FROM NewYork. Now LIVE/WORK in NY,

Played little league with Nettles, Catfish hunters sons and went to school with Tracey Munson. Nettles watched ME play third base, wearing a way-too tight #9 Jersey.

Been to over 100 games. Countless Spring Training games when they used to play in Ft Lauderdale. Went to Boston in ‘86 to watch Mattingly/Boggs battle for batting title.

Owner of a seat from original Yankee Stadium. My mom went to Babe Ruth’s laying in state with my granpa and two aunts. Was at the Chambliss GW homer in ALCS against Royals, Righetti no hiitter v Sox on July 4.

So yeah, die-hard Yankee fan. Sorry.

My fandom transcends a man crush of a self-absorbed douchebag.

The moment I peaked was a playoff game... Giants v Cardinals.

First and second, two out and Donald Johnson tried to lay down a bunt on ol’ Kook playing third. I charged in (on a fully collapsed arthritic ankle) and picked it bare and threw a hose to Tony Foschino for third out.

According to my sister in stands, Nettles shouted, “Nice play, (sic) Kook!”

As previously posted, I think Nettles was on DL with Hep.

I would have loved to see Donnie Ballgame play in person. Just the consummate professional hitter. Both he and Molitor had such compact, powerful swings.

Started pats fandom 1993-1994, well before Brady. Thanks for your biography though.

I peaked at 12 in Little League baseball. Was a good pitcher/SS and a power hitter. Led the league in dingers. The step up to the bigger field in Babe Ruth and pitching from the stretch curtailed my awesome pitching career and power hitting status. My SPEEDBALL wasn't quite as speedy and I struggled to throw junk from that distance effectively. That's also around the time I started really liking basketball over the other sports and spent more time playing it year round. Kept playing baseball through HS though. Starting shortstop Jr & Sr year and my power hitting turned into lead off batter status. Glory days and whatnot...they'll pass you by...

For mav...

93-94? Don't come in here with that weak azz shite. You gotta at least go back to the late 80's and the Doug Flutie era to gain any respect for being a Pats fan. Wanna really impress someone with your lame azz Pats fandom? Talk to them about being a fan in the Steve effing Grogan era. Now that dude was a warrior. Maybe...just maybe I might respect your Pats fandom then. Probably not though...now that I really think about it.

Man, Steve Grogan brings back some memories. Dude was only 5’5” but his neck made him 6’3”.

Hahahaha about his buzzard neck.

Speaking of necks...Grogan played with broken discs in his neck at one point I think. And his knees were held together with screws and duct tape. Effing warrior, man. Modern day gladiator...if late 70's/early 80's counts as modern day. It still does in my mind anyway.

Jesus dude, I was born in the 1980s, Grogan started playing there 1975. Ended playing there late 80s or so. When they drafted Marty Moore dead last in the draft is when I started following them.

Played Tee/Baseball from age of 7-12. Had only three real hits the entire time but probably drew at least two walks a game because short. You know how they say “good eye” when you walk? I apparently was the opposite because we found out I needed glasses around the time I quit baseball.

I also played baseball/peaked early. Threw smoke. One of the first times on the mound I hit the entire lineup. Hard. Shook em up. They wouldn’t stand in the box. Made this little tiny black kid quit the sport because I hit him twice in the head. They can’t hit you if you hit them first.

There’s another one. Either:
  1. The quality of the talent has suddenly and dramatically improved.
  2. These new contacts are really spot on.
  3. My standards suddenly and dramatically dropped.
  4. 1 and 2
  5. 1, 2 and 3
  6. 1 and 3
  7. None of the above (ie I’m just bored out of my mind)

It's all good young grasshopper wildcat friend. You even get a couple of bonus points for listing the name of a former foosball Cat who played in the NFL and even played in a SB. But then again, he is the foosball Cat who fumbled away the '93 Peach Bowl. So you wound up loosing more points than you gained...which means you're still in the red. Sorry, DUDE.
