Oklahoma is seen as a team with a possibility of a top 5 conference finish, based on their pass happy offense. However, it has been pointed out repeatedly Oklahoma has never won a playoff game...because defensively they do not match up. They have also not played a schedule where they face top 20 competition week in and out.
Texas takes the brunt of criticism...with even NFL people pointing to what they call "Texas Syndrome"...great talent, questionable development, poor work ethic.....or as one NFL rep said....entitled swagger.
At present, most analysts think Texas might finish as high as 7th in the SEC overall...but no higher.
This for them is not just about money, it's about growth. Good teams get better playing other good or better teams.
