You’d have to think he will hit the portal. A guy like that as a freshman , especially considering he wasn’t recruited by anyone… not sure he even had another D1 offer. He’s going to move up the food chain and get some cash to boot

My daughter goes to oldham county and I saw max play a lot the past couple years I'm not sure what stuff on the court that you have to deal with?
If he enters the transfer portal, then his name suggests that he will seek the most amount of money that he can.
Matt Jones mentioned in passing yesterday we could add a Kentucky guy that plays for another team. Wonder if this is the guy he was referencing?
14/5/4 as a freshman at any D1 school is impressive. He might not be a star at Uk, but with schollys going to 15, he’s 100% worth that! Fill the last 5 with Kentucky guys who won’t transfer and hope a few of them end up providing good minutes.

The kid is super talented, when he would get in a zone he could take over games with his skill. There are just so many other intangible things that just jumped out to coaches. If you didn't see those things it was because you chose not to see them. He is probably right where he needs to be, at a school getting lots of minutes and lots of shots.
That kids talent is off the charts though!

This is just not true. Bird left IU before they’d even had the first practice. And entirely because of his personal issues he was dealing with at the time. It had nothing to do with Knight or playing time.
My dad is best friends with a guy that grew up with Larry. Knew him well, personally. To hear this guy tell it, it was actually both. Larry was dealing with some family stuff and he also wasn't pleased that Knight apparently didn't think too highly of Larry. In particular is overall athletic ability, and ironically enough, his toughness.
Academics. Maybe he felt if I don't go big time, I'll go to the best school that offers.
