Jones is not connected to the recruiting scene. He's got connections to our program but not the recruits. It's been said and said don't know why some haven't learned. The truth of it was exposed years ago.

Being stereotypical here, for Moms who know little to nothing about basketball, I think Duke's academics and the whole ivy-laden campus thing impresses. I think they also like the idea of their kid rubbing shoulders with rich kids.

I believe some of this to a degree might be true. I don't think it's just basketball ignorant moms though either. Whether many here want to admit it or not, Duke is an excellent academic school, which carries prestige in a number of circles.
However, one would think being an NBA star would fulfill any potential need or desire for prestige or inclusion into a group higher up the socioeconomic ladder.

No, he didn't. He said a couple weeks before the announcement that he wasn't sure but that the staff felt optimistic. Then a week or so before Jamal announced, he heard that we should expect an announcement the following Wednesday and if that happened, he felt a lot better about our chances. When that became a reality, he said he started hearing more and more pro UK talk around his sources. The day of the announce he felt really good that we were going to get him. He didn't act like he knew anything before he actually did know something, unlike a lot of people in the business. When he was told pro UK info, he passed it along and thats what he does with just about every recruit.

Why is he a drama queen? Because he's waiting to see what each roster will look like? That's ridiculous. These kids have the most important decision in their life ahead of them and the smart ones take it very seriously and treat it as a business decision. If I were him, I would want to know exactly what each roster looks like before I made my decision. That definitely doesn't make them a drama queen.
I agree. No way we're suddenly in with Knox and out with Bamba. Load of BS and misdirection either from the players camps (build anticipation for their announcements) or media just throwing something new out to get hits.
Also, why does the author make it seem the end is near if we don't get Bamba? He said something like "without Bamba UK will have a glaring hole in the paint..." Lol ok. I don't doubt our team will be much better with Bamba, but we still have Richards, SKJ, and Gabriel. We may have Humprhies back. Not to mention Vanderbilt and PJ. With or without Bamba the interior is not UK's weakness next year. Bamba definitely improves on an already seemingly strong front court in a very big way.
Duke is in another sphere than Kentucky in basketball from the history, the fans and the prepping for the pro's. Among other things. Why would the best of the best that lives basketball not want that? The 1 position that most of the best of the best wants to play with, Is coming to Kentucky. the chance to win a national championship at your possibly one year stint, is much greater here. The chance of you being the next Giles or Bolden, is there. Need we continue?
Every single time a guy is 90% one team for a long stretch, a contrarian comes in - as someone said before, we've seen documented cases of the kid's camp trying to blow up the uniformity so that the response to the announcement isn't "duh. we knew it all along."

I don't believe he said he was talking to the recruit. What he said was, someone that should know, didn't think we would get Bamba. I took that to mean someone on the staff of close to the staff.
