KSR just said about Bamba....

It's all going to come down to what school offers the most for him. Playing time, individual instruction, relationships, promotion and ability to win. UK is the school that offers the very best in all of those areas. I would be surprised if the kid chooses any other school.

May 24th is the date the NCAA has set that you have to remove your name from the Draft at this time to be eligible. This would be the date that anyone who remains on the NBA Draft list after, is not coming back whether they get drafted or not. This used to be a problem because it didn't correlate with the combine and workouts. Now, it's 2 weeks after, so it gives players a chance to participate, assess and make a decision.

lol @ Matt Jones pretending to have sources again. Basically, if Bamba comes here he can say "Most of my sources confirmed this". If Bamba doesn't then it looks like he has a well connected "source".

Jones is a clown.

Yeah, cause he's been so wrong in the past. It's funny how hard some of you try to discredit him. The guy has just been right about every recruit that we've gotten for years. When he says he doesn't know or the staff doesn't feel good then we usually never get that recruit but the ones he's says we get, we have gotten. You shouldn't try so hard to discredit the guy just because you don't like him. I guess facts don't matter to some. It's obvious that he has sources.

I think he's just waiting to make sure Bam stays in the draft.I believe his relationship with Green is what seals the deal.

So I have a friend who knows a recruiting expert pretty well. Take this for what you will, I wouldn't bet my life on it, but I don't think this guy would lie to me.

He says Bamba and Knox are going to Mizzou with Porter, Jr.

Here we go again with the friend of a friend of a cousin who has an uncle that used to be married to a friend of the aunt who lived 2 streets away from Bamba. [eyeroll][eyeroll][eyeroll]

Like I said, take it for what you will. There's no reason to pretend like I'm putting the "done deal guarantee" on it. I'm not sure if you think I'm lying about hearing this rumor, or if you think my friend is lying. I mean I know for a fact he plays golf and regularly speaks to this recruiting expert. He is one of the most respected recruiting analysts following high school basketball across the country. Has the guy been wrong before? Yes. Does he know more than every one of you put together about recruiting? Absolutely.

I think we're talking about different things. There is a deadline for entering the draft, but there is an NCAA deadline for those who declared but want to return to school. I think that is in April.

Right. I think we are talking about the same thing.

The lottery is first. Players will at least know who is picking when (or picking at all).

Return date is May 24.

All the 7 footers we have, but Bamba is 'that' guy that puts you over the top of seriously winning it all. There is no defensive presence like him in the country I can think of. Him and Richards would be devastating inside. Put the experienced top 3 man Johnson on the front line with them.....WOW!

No he was wrong about Jalen Brown. As was everyone though.

Corey Evans broke the news about Cam Johnson and he picked Texas for Bamba. Not everybody says UK for Bamba. Most people do, but not everybody. There is nothing conclusive/decided either way, so lots of sound and fury signifying nothing right now. At the very least it's clear UK is top 2, very likely the lead but second at worst.

Well, a college basketball scholarship gives you basically a free pass into bypassing admission criteria to a school. Most people aren't ever getting into Harvard without using an athletic scholarship route.

However, unless you're getting a very specific degree from a certain program, the school you attend is vastly overrated barring that you don't make it in basketball and want to have a degree to fall back on.

I'm sure a 5-star recruit who plans to be a OAD does not have their "degree in ..." very high on their list of priorities.
No one, no matter how good at basketball, is getting into Harvard on scholarship.

MJ just told Drew Franklin who the source was, off the air. DF then said that it was a good source. MJ said he will tell after the decision is made.

I think Bamba is a game changer,Johnson could be a difference maker.I think we were immature this year and it took longer to come together but we did.Next year we will be younger than ever and that is saying a mouthful at UK.Each team has/develops it's own personality,it is not impossible that we could be younger but more mature than we were this season.

I think the college landscape will likely change more next year than usual,we may not see Duke,UNC and KU all near the top of the heap, where we will shake out remains to be seen as well.Wichita St may shed the mid major role and be more of a Nova level team, the SEC could have one or two new faces that will get attention. and we might see some lesser known mid major stake a claim in the top 10

Starting to lose confidence. If we don't get him, losing Hump would really hurt. We'd be down to SKJ and Wynyard as backups to Richards.

Well, nobody is 100% correct and there are times when everyone at a school believes a kid is coming, only to he fooled at the last minute.

Don't know for sure, but I think he was probably wrong about Murray too. On the day he announced, pretty much everybody was saying Oregon.

People here have been including Bamba on the roster, talking about him as if he's already on the team.

It's foolish and WAY early for that. Bamba is definitely not a done deal at all. I agree with @SilentsAreGolden why does Green need to work on him everyday if he is already heading to UK???

lol, he has way more sources than you. What do you want him to say? Is he supposed to only say the positive? If he hears something don't you want him to say it. He's been saying we lead and just because he says "one person who would know says no" means he has no sources, ya lol.

My only question about this is this. He said nobody on the staff tells anyone anything, so it's not the staff. Nobody like Daniels, Meyer, etc are saying this publicly, right? Who else would know? Doubt this source knows Bamba's family. Would a booster know? And if it's Texas or Duke, why hasn't he announced? Just seems fishy, but it has tempered my optimism about it.

Didn't Jones also say Randle was a lock to Kansas? Genuine question, as I could be confusing him with someone else. But I seem to recall him saying as much.

I heard that too. Meyer and Daniels are still UK, so I will trust them because we have no idea who Matt's source is. It's obviously a well know one, because he told Drew and drew said it is a trustworthy one, so it can't be someone with Texas because I doubt drew would know him that well. He said he would tell us when he commits but I'm interested to here who it is.

Bamba mentioned the importance of being able to network with alums at whatever school he chooses to prepare for life after the NBA. He mentioned it'd be cool rubbing shoulders with grads from your school wearing hats from the alma mater that worked at places like Apple and Goldman Sachs.

The CEO of Apple went to Duke and we have tons of alums at Goldman. I think the prestige of going to Duke is what is keeping Bamba from committing to UK right away.

i do not understand why some of you guys think that Bamba's decision has anything to do with Bam staying or not staying in the draft
if Bam comes back he will play his natural position at the four spot and Bamba or Richards will start at center
what Bam does has absolutely nothing to do with Bamba's decision

Let's pump the brakes a little. What constitutes him being right on every recruit we have got

God, you are insufferable.

His source for that, could the source for this. I think it was a guy in Texas, and Texas in the running for Bamba.
But Matt never said it was Texas, said it was a no for UK. If theirs a positive in this....Duke isn't getting a lot of talk for Bamba.

Somebody in this thread claims a source said Mizzu, with Knox. Couldn't tell if he was joking or not.
