I think Matt Coleman is a major step down from other guys in this class--but that's just my take. I'll see him this week against the other guys as I believe he's in Jordan Game. Remember when media people were hyping Andrew Jones of Houston as equal or some even superior to De'Aaron Fox as a prospect? How did that turn out? If you are going to throw arrows at Cal/UK, then be sure to do same at other coaches and programs when their "elite talent" doesn't produce as projected.

I do not agree with MJ say's, but I have listened for a while now. I can not believe he steals any information from rafters! I believe him before I do most that are supposed in the know! Sense I've listened to him, his info is right more than most other places, except another I trust very much! I'm not knocking rafters. Other than a couple, or three here! It's interesting to me that Bamba has talked about two things in interviews recently that are important to him - "brand" and a tight relationship with his coach.

The "brand" stuff is pure Duke, he started spouting it after his OV there, and I think it's a spiel that Duke came up with to counter Cal and UK, probably subtly implying that Cal's brand is more controversial vs. Saint K's. I thought it was interesting that Bamba specifically noted he was going to watch the 30 for 30 on Cal.

It's also pure bullshit, Kyrie's or AD's marketability at this point in their careers have nothing to do with where they spent 9 months before they entered the NBA - it's driven by who they are as players and individuals.

The "relationship" stuff reads Shaka Smart, but that's inconsistent with the "brand" stuff. Texas has zero "brand" when it comes to basketball, and right now Smart's brand is in the crapper, and Matt Coleman and Bamba aren't enough to salvage it.

Bamba is smart enough to have known the talk about Cal long ago. I don't think it's a new phenomenon with him at all. Also, I don't really believe Bamba has suddenly had a negative epiphany about Calipari. As for brand, UK has promoted a brand for years now under Cal; it's the essence of his OAD NBA coalition.

I'd rather he go to Texas or Michigan than Duke. That said, I still think UK is the slight leader.
