Kentucky v. Louisville (Super Regionals - #1)

Tough inning ends with a very bad called strike 3. Gotta help yourself before you can ask for help from an umpire.

Do you watch baseball? That's all on the player... NO WAY HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN THREW OUT
I do hate giving up outs. I understand why you bunt there, but Carson has been swinging a hot bat. If you want the big inning you can't give up outs.

Didn't like the bunt call considering how well Carson has been swinging it and the fact they're on this fast playing turf field with a slow runner on second. Then the bunt is not executed, a bad base running mistake (shocker), and a looking strikeout (although that third strike looked low and away).

You don't bunt with a lefty who has been hitting well, with Heady to follow. don't care if that sacrifice was even successful. You let Carson swing away

Negative. Not when you're going to have Pompey up.

The base running miscue was even more ridiculous

Really not playing well enough to win yet, but they can do it. We won three straight to get here after we didn't play well and got in the losers bracket. With two lefties the next two games, we need to be hitting this pitcher.

Not sure what you're talking about. I don't want Carson bunting there at all. Even if the sacrifice is successful. Let him swing away with heady Up Next. Never mind the horrible baserunning mistake. That compounded the entire horrible decision to bunt.

And yes, I watched baseball once or twice before.

Logue now coming in, so Machamer should be available tomorrow if needed (or Sunday if it goes that far). Frustrating game so far, we'll see if UK can rally to overcome the sloppy play thus far or whether they're going to be in a position of beating McKay to stay alive.

Tough call whether to bunt there. But a couple of things to keep in mind:

A. A large percentage of our big innings this year have actually come after a sacrifice bunt.Coach has talked about this quite a lot.

B. We are somewhat prone to the double play. A successful sacrifice takes it out of play.

Well if he gets it down the 3rd base line with his speed there's a good chance he's on.

If Carson pushes it hard enough toward 3rd, probably sitting at bases loaded. It was a poor attempt and even worse read on 1b after the pb.

Also, pitcher airmailed the play in the 1st...possibility again with a good attempt.

I've lost track of all the ones we've throwed into the ground. Catcher is earning his keep.

Which Dirty Bird is the traitor from Lexington.

Becker never gets a clutch hit, still trying to figure out why he is our cleanup hitter.
Was just looking at stats and to me it looks like the staff has basically put the most weight with obp. Obp is great, but like you said - clutch RBIs don't factor too much with obp
