During his time at Kentucky, head coach John Calipari has only signed three junior college players, most recently Vincennes (Ind.) University shooting guard Mychal Mulder this spring.

Now, the Wildcats are showing interest in Goodman (Miss.) Holmes C.C. JuCo All-American guard Daryl Macon, according to Brad Winton of JuCoRecruiting.com.

Originally from Parkview High School in Little Rock, Ark., Macon (6-3, 170) averaged 23 points per game while shooting 36.9 percent from beyond the arc and 88.5 percent from the free throw line en route to being named an NJCAA All-American.

Macon holds offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss and Memphis and is garnering interest from Alabama, Kansas State and Oklahoma State among others in addition to Kentucky.

Posters are going to be beside themselves with Cal even looking at Juco players. Especially with them makin fun of other schools for going after them and stating Juco's are not that good.

We need him for depth. UK has been wanting to add one more player and I am hoping it is Murray but a JUCO all American would be a nice consolation prize.

2016 class.

This would be to fill the likely departures of Poythress, Lee, Skal and maybe others. Murray is a OAD regardless so it's hard to say this impacts him at all. If he comes to UK he will be gone anyway...

Whole lotta stupid near the top of this thread. None of us know anything about this kid. What if he was Steve Francis with Anthony Davis' work ethic, but had slipped through the cracks? The idea that even looking at JUCOs makes Cal 'desperate' is laughable.

I love looking at some of these Jucos. Not every player comes from a top 10 high school pedigree. Good lord.

I'm just glad Cal is on top of the current climate. He knows what he's doing.

And taking potential Memphis recruits making that crap fan base squeal is good in my book. Leave nothing, not even the snow cone machine.

I'm not a big fan of jucos. On the other hand I'm not a big fan of freshman backcourts that turn over every year. If UK brings in Macon that almost guarantees that for 16-17 we start out with a senior swingman (Mulder) and junior guard.

To be fair, it would have helped if the OP had put 2016 in the original post.

To be fair, it would help if you didn't jump off the cliff at the sight of a JUCO All-American being recruited by UK.

We haven't had any luck with JUCO's since Dale Brown and Rodney Dent in the 90's.

I hope that changes with Mulder.

I would think this guy is a backup plan if we miss on several 5-star targets.

On a serious note though, there wasn't much hope of getting him out of Arkansas. He's from Little Rock, he played on the same team as Anton Beard in high school. Not like anybody didn't see this coming.
