This upcoming team will have a season like that 2013 team. 20 to 22 wins and 11 to 13 losses. 8 to 10 seed. Even still, MDwildcat, Sejonesy, and that crew will somehow deflect for Calipari. The program could literally be in ashes and they'd still say we can now have a, "clean slate."

The problem is, the media that only pays attention part of the time, is beside themselves at the thought of Cal getting fired simply because the guy won a title.
They said it after the SP loss.
So ìn reality, he could be here another 10 years and never make it to the sweet 16 and all out miss the ncaat multiple times, but because he won a title in 2012, it's blasphemy to think he would ever be fired in their eyes. They aren't seeing what we are seeing.
The man isn’t the same. Its obvious. At one time he was the hottest coach in basketball. Hell, even in his first season here we should’ve made the FF. Very few coaches have turned programs around that quickly.
But this isn’t 2009-2012 Cal. This is Cal post 2018. The last time we were a deep run team.
He needs to be done this year. If he can’t win with his tried and true prized freshman, he’s then failed at the one thing he was good at.

Barney has done the same thing with athletics. It belongs to him. He don’t give a sht about the fans. He’s made that clear in so many ways. He’s the real scourge of ukbb right now.
Don’t give up hope it’s what cal wants. He’s trying to break the fanbase and lower expectations since it’s mostly unified now that he needs to go. He had been dividing the fanbase for years now the writing is on the wall and bbn is coming together along with national media. Cal sees it. He’s going all in with a grip of freshman. Something that has never worked. It’s a recipe for disaster. So keep your chin up. Pull for our team and expect changes soon. This is the final mail for cal unless he catches lightening in a bottle which isn’t happening without some men.
No doubt, media will influence public opinion and the larger public many times are the very last ones to truly know and understand the reality. Media, too often, gets embroiled in the politics of certain situations and try to create a narrative that is self-serving, and I can understand why they do. The bottom line is that this thing is increasingly becoming too big of a story to keep a lid on it. An example is the Matt Jones rant today because Cal burned the KSR/Jones bridge and Jones has nothing to lose now and feels justified more-so now to speak freely. Cal has burned the Booster bridge, and barely speaks to his AD. The larger public/fanbase wouldn't have a clue about much of it. I think this thing has started getting big enough that media may become irrelevant. Who knows ... I don't.
The biggest problem is that Cal's approach cannot sustain a roster year after year and cannot retain proven players. You can't win consistently that way.
Well I think Reed and Adou maybe Ugo out of the present 7 will be here along with Burks Hart and Somoto if they sign. Add Travis Perry next year. Then add Jasper Johnson. Core guys. That’s at least 6 or 7.
Understand that’s speculative but I’d like to see us go that route.

However, Cal has to play these guys some not just the 5 stars. Put ‘em in. Make them feel valued.
The "other side's" issue ain't fear of finding another coach. Instead, it's fear of having to pay to by far the largest buyout ever paid in the history of the sport. 40-something million dollar checks don't exactly grow on trees, you know.
I think you're right that neither side wants to be together anymore, but it's that insane contract that keeps us binded together anyways. We can't yet financially afford to fire him, and he's owed way too much to walk away on his own.
We're like an unhappy couple stuck in a bad marriage because it's currently too costly to get a divorce.

Unfortunately, I honestly don’t believe there IS any hope with John Calipari. I’ve been hard on his case because I WON’T lower my expectations. He has run off anyone who would play here, and everyone coming in, with maybe the exception of Reed Shepherd, are mercenaries. They won’t stay either. NIL is not the problem, it never has been.
Calipari has proven who he is and he will not change and he will not take responsibility either

I just read about the boosters. I’ve been saying it for years they don’t like cal. He’s rubbed some the wrong way and a big one as I mentioned told me cal would be gone by the end of the 23 season.The problem is he turned things around. So it appears this is the next tactic to withhold nil. My buddy a bank president that does a lot for UK he told me they are not going to invest in ukbb right now. There is no return for them and he and others are incensed with cal. There’s more but I’m gonna be vacationing with him next week so I’ll find out more.
If Calipari could make anyone feel valued who wasn’t one of his 5 star OADs, we wouldnt be having the mass exodus we’ve had

After next season the buyout is 34 million. They will pay it because you consider we have paid cal already 36 million since his new contract for 1 ncaa tournament win in 4 years. Cal is angling to be bought out because I think he’s burned out and wants some time off. He knows when they can him he isn’t getting more than two years salary in a buyout. That’s just not how it works legally. The first thing that has to happen though is Barney has to go. He is an impediment to unloading cal and he’s an impediment to hiring a new coach. I think his exit is right around the corner the guy is being exposed yet again as incompetent. Barney fails, then gets a mulligan everytime. He has dirt on someone. Maybe cal does too but it won’t matter after this season. He will have to win big or he’s toast. The structure for unloading him began to assemble in January of 23. But like I said in the other post fans need to let cal hear it in rupp. Apathy won’t make any change
Yep it hurts but the $$$$ has to be procured by boosters to put towards any cal buyout and right now ukfb is where the rewards are for his bank to profit. Reed will be rewarded for staying home and there is some nil money that others have put aside I just know his bank is sitting it out for ukbb for now.

I don’t see Perry coming here. He’s a shooter and Cal’s “offensive” offense isn’t suited for a shooter. I hope he comes to Kentucky but the last few years are a red flag for guys like him. I am afraid that he’ll go somewhere that puts a premium on shooters like he is.
The sooner people start to accept that the issue isn't "NIL", the better. Cal is the problem.
