They will come to a settlement, not his full buyout but enough for him to go away happy. And I think everyone will agree it was the right move and right time.

As far as where he gets his information from, why does that matter? Why are so many of you guys so angry over where he gets his information? Why do we care? I don't care if he gets it from Louisville fans, I like knowing what's going on with UK sports.
Sorry, but I just don't understand the Matt Jones hate, it comes across as jealousy to me. The guy is on our side and what he said yesterday, is very true.
Yes, what he said mimics what most of us on RR have said for years, but the reason for the similar statements, is simply because their freaking true.
Also, keep in mind, Matt probably had these takes a while ago, but he sat on them, because he was trying to be as positive as he could for as long as he could. In his position and on the stage he is on, he had to do it that way.

My beef with Jones is simple. It's called professional courtesy. He has passed more than enough of other people's work as his own. Mine included. It's not jealousy. It is however a genuine distrust of what and who he is. MJ is a very smart person and uses people for his advantage.
But a couple of questions come to mind when MJ speaks. 1 is the timing. What is going on when his comments occur? He has an agenda and knows the how some of BBN will react when he makes a statement. He knows that many will message recruits and do Lord knows what else to paint BBN in a bad light. It couldn't have happened during when 3 recruits and a possible 4 is deciding over UK or other schools. What would be the difference to make those comments now or after everything is done next week? Who is he trying to sabotage? Cal? or BBN as a whole?
The other hidden agenda? Does he actually have some sort of hidden agenda in his comments? I say yes.
But you act like he is the God send for UK sports. I beg to differ. Majority of the negativity comes from MJ when his feel around the program or his understanding of what is happening in a game comes to fruition. There are other voices of BBN who have a genuine concern but conduct themselves better without causing widespread panic among the stupids.

Obviously the "lifetime contract" for Calipari was a monumental mistake. But, again I ask...who will Barnhart have to answer to for that?

There’s more to this than most want to believe. Look at 95% of the population, everything is political and everyone has such a strong opinion one way or the other. There is no middle ground. Same goes for Cal vs. boosters/fans.

I don't know why you quoted me. I can say what I want just as you can. Why don't you form a group? I don't dislike Jones or KSR. His tone toward Calipari changed and it doesn't have anything to do with winning like the vast majority of people here, who I agree with.

no its from when UK and Indiana got heated in the post game handshake and the IU coach was going after the UK coach, Barnhart stepped in between and was shooting daggers at the IU coach.
But, we (fans) aren't the ones who ultimately can send him packing. MB has accumulated a pretty substantial amount of good will with the powers that be inside UK. There is no way he will ever be fired IMO. That's a look and a PR nightmare that UK would never be willing to create. Also, MB didn't just create the "lifetime contract" all of his own accord. He had to have direction and/or input from the highest levels of UK. And then the contract had to be agreed to by the Board. There's plenty of blame to go around and MB deserves a lot of it. But, not all.
The only way MB would ever be shown the door is if a massive scandal erupted along the lines of what Michigan State went through a couple years ago. That isn't going to happen.
Don't misunderstand me, I think MB has been asleep at the wheel on UK bball or even worse, willingly hands off. But, that is his primary character flaw IMO. A unwillingness to stand up to Calipari. That's either his own decision or at the direction of his bosses inside UK.
I'll agree with this to a point. But, I think UK sports, especially basketball still trumps (no pun intended) political polarization.
People will forget stuff like the kneeling after a period of time...especially when it comes to their sport of passion. Just look at the NFL. Soon after the whole kneeling/BLM stuff started, they were losing fans by the hundred thousands. But, in 2023 the NFL is more popular than ever. Of course it helps that the league doesn't shove that nonsense in the faces of its fans like it did 6-7 years ago but, still...a lot of people have come back. Same is true for UK basketball.
I think the problem with Calipari and the boosters is that he thought he could limit their number to a small handful of the very elite and manage them with ease. But, something has changed in the last few years. Whether that is a personal thing or Calipari's insane ego and stubbornness, only a very few can say. But, now he's painted himself into a corner. Having only a half dozen big money boosters that don't answer your calls gives you very few options.
What gets me is we’ve finally got that point where no one stays and we have no one come in. It was going to happen inevitably.
