Johnson to Arizona

It is not considered to be a bad class. NBA scouts love Edwards and Bradshaw and many of them like Wagner a lot. We have 2 talented sophomores. We only need a few more reserves. Cal will sign a few transfers.
Lack of leadership will be a huge issue. Duke has had several years with great freshmen classes that had early exits in the tournament as well. A young team with zero experience playing together will not do well especially on the road.

Kentucky will be worse than this past year then. No shooting on the roster at all and relying on a bad freshman class to carry us

Don’t forget no rebounding either. Bad combo to have. Posters want to downplay the loss of Oscar but it’ll be compounded with inconsistent shooting from freshman in a strong SEC.

Yeah but these guys have to rest sometime!
This. And also they were never likely going to be one of the better players at their position in college basketball next season (and I think a program like UK should be able to expect some of those). Freshmen rarely are - whether 5-star, top ten or whatever other high school ranking designation is used.

You seriously think there’s a chance in this world that we have a roster of 7 players?
No, absolutely not. But I'm saying if we are counting on our freshman guards to give us 35 mins a game, without a solid bench and just getting warm bodies from the portal who won't contribute, we are in major trouble. That is why I am hoping Reeves returns and Oscar comes back. Livingston seems to have made up his mind that he is staying in the draft.

There will be other players who pull out of the NBA combine and transfer, we just have to hope we land a few of them.

Marc(MeManBoy):The sky is not falling for UK. There is always a significant wave of grad transfers when draft combine is over. UK will have a capable roster when it’s time to play games. I get the disappointment, but keep perspective.
There will probably be one good player that comes back and enters the portal and Kentucky won’t get him because he will want NIl money up front and Kentucky won’t promise it to him

We're not eating first.
Not even catching table scraps.
Something has to change. I know I know best freshman class in history blah blah blah... Older experienced players for the most part don't wanna come here. They see through Calipari

So is MMB Marc Maggard?

This. Seems to be a re-occurring theme. So if that doesn't change we wont get anyone worth getting excited about.

As a whole the freshman class coming into college basketball this year is way down compared to other years, is getting the best players in a bad class good enough, the answer is no it not

They say this a lot of years. All of these classes are going to take a hit in productivity with all the 5th year seniors running around. Still, last year was an actual down year and guys like Brandon Miller, Jarace Walker, Gradey Dick, Filipowski, Anthony Black, Cason Wallace, and Keyonte George were all very productive.

There was more misses in the top 10-15 than usual, especially with the Whitehead and Smith injuries, and all the re-class guys from the year before ~ Sharpe, Bates, and Duren.
