Johnson to Arizona

It’s wild. I seem to agree with you on every single post you make. I’ve noticed that for several years now. IIRC, we are the same age as well.

Anyway, I just want to land some good players. Be it role players or whatever. We need 2 more snipers and a mobile 4 IMHO. If Reeves returns, we need 1 sniper and a 4 man. As we know, it won’t be Chris Livingston.
All the fans can see what is needed....shooters, and a good scoring forward. I think another center is needed as well.
Yet ccc sits and waits which guarantees another lousy season for the fans to endure.

This. He’s telling NBA front office ppl currently that he isn’t coming back to KY.

Coming from the same connection that told me about the video evidence semi clearing Brandon Miller before it finally leaked in the news that there was a video.

Why did he even ‘maintain eligibility’ seems pointless to do so if you’re not even considering coming back.

Appreciate it and Back at ya, brother. Makes sense we are around the same age. Old enough to remember Pitino, the hood but not great Tubby years, the bad Billy G 2 years, Cals glory w being ahead of the 1nD trend and he still had fire for his own success and wasn’t only about setting up fringe first rounders for what will be best for their NBA game, and we recognize that the Cal we see now is Tubby on a good year and Billy G on a bad year all while not connecting with the fanbase.

Essentially we are old enough to have seen multiple eras of KY basketball and know it’s time unless he catches lightning in a bottle this year to buy a couple years…. The decade younger than us only really remembers Cal and maybe Billy G and late Tubby so I’m sure life after Cal is scary and uncertain….. but we aren’t so old yet that life is 1000% in perspective and we’ve accepted that college athletics isn’t that important and shouldn’t be given any more weight than cheap entertainment.

I’m sure it was a consideration at some point. There was also rumors early on from national outlets hinting that he may transfer if not the NBA…would make sense to maintain eligibility to give yourself options for the worst case scenario.

Things can always change and I’d love to have him back. Maybe he’s telling front office ppl that in an attempt to show confidence that he’s ready to make the jump…who knows…but that’s the current scuttlebutt

I’m right there with ya’ll. I watched Joe B. walk away, Sutton almost kill the program, Pitino rebuild it, Tubby muddle through his tenure, the strange two years with BCG, and Cal’s roller coaster ride.

Like you said, it’s cheap entertainment and should be a break from the real world. That’s how I view it.

There it is, the old “let’s wait and see” post. And when the roster doesn’t pan out you’ll show up and say “now let’s not panic, let’s wait and see how the season plays out“ blah blah blah…rinse and repeat…
No I'll fully panic if things don't pan out. What will you say IF Oscar and Reeves return? Not saying it will happen, obviously... But there isn't much point in panicking now when we have zero idea what's going to happen.

Cal was great his first 7 years basically. Then, 2019 was a great team, but felt like one piece short. Imagine that. Lulz We’ve been a day late and a dollar short a lot under Cal. The program cannot sustain on this current trajectory. Losing 75% of your roster every year just isn’t gonna work.

The Pitino years were fabulous. I miss that era so bad. Teams feared UK back then. Hell, even that 1992 duke team feared our UK squad and felt they were plenty good enough to beat them, and they were. Like, duke was literally scared of that Kentucky team. I saw an interview with Laettner where he stated that, straight out. Had the officials not saved duke, that shot would’ve never happened. What a coaching job that was. Pitino was the best coach in the country at UK.

I remember Cal said himself he didn’t need to stay more than 10 years, when he started. He probably should have hung it up after the 2019 season. Things really started going downhill after that.
