John Calipari silence

Cal will always be a big college story, he is one of a handful of championship winning coaches and someone who has taken multiple schools to final fours. He’s one of the only OG coaches left. It’s the offseason, but he’s been on a lot of stuff for this time of year. That said, he’s no longer our coach so we are only concerned with how much a Pope is on air and to see if he can become the next legendary Kentucky head coach and championship winner baby!

Mark Pope is my coach now and I will back him 100%. If anybody is still butt hurt that Calipari is no longer our coach, well they can just start cheering for the red pigs.
For some odd reason, a few here enjoy watching UK fans get upset more than they do be happy. Misery wants company? Rival fans in disguise?! It will be obvious who they are as the season moves along.

I think one thing we're all discounting is his staff. They will decide if he flourishes or fails. They did here.
I’m not, his staff got worse and he replaced his best offensive coach ever with Brad. He lost Antigua on top of it. I just don’t see Calipari adjusting to the modern game without help again. He even reverted when he wa still on staff and I believe it’s why he left so quick.

He has become so confused that he mixes up cliches in ways that makes absolutely no sense. Now, he simply sounds like a babbling old man who can no longer accurately remember his favorite cliches.
And he talks in a stream of consciousness that nearly always has him ending far from where he started. He rarely makes good, concise points. He has only gotten worse as he’s gotten older and more cal/cow like.

They are not ice cream pooping machines that he can hide here.
This is not for everyone. Especially since we are so young.
But, our positionless players are built for march.

Not as long as he has John Tyson and Wal-Mart on his side. Money talks.
People keep saying that but if the fountain of money was so deep don’t you think their football would have been better? Plus, Pope has already beat him twice for recruits hasn’t he?

But he is right about you hating the Pope hire.
Let’s be real when Pope was first announced as the hire a lot of UK fans and I mean a lot thought UK could do better. By doing better I mean going out and getting the more experienced coach with the better resume because of the UK name. Everyone knows how Mitch is when it comes to doing his homework, making hires, and giving out his nice contracts so trusting him isn’t really high on every UK fans list. Most every UK fan is behind the hire after everyone sit back and gave it a chance to settle in.

He visited Dickey V yesterday according to the web... The Cal pump will start back up soon enough. As others have stated he will continue to have top 10 talent. Especially with NIL... Even if we ignore the new Cal era it will be in front of us the whole time. No way to avoid it. Especially if he has success. I'm calling a D Sanders situation.

I choose to appreciate Cal pulling us out of BCG’s shithole of a situation super fast and enjoy all the talent he brought in. There were some amazing wins during his time and as we all know, some equally disappointing losses. I hold no animosity towards him and wish him well in his future endeavors.

Me too, until he starts making not so subtle digs at us and our program (he can't help himself)

In 15 years Cal will be celebrated and remembered fondly here and have his name in the rafters. It’s just too soon right now as he just left for a conference rival and took half the team with him. People now remember Pitino and Tubby fondly and as someone who’s been posting here since 2001 I can very confidently tell you that was not always the case.

I am not sure I want his name in the rafters, as I believe the University wasn’t his first priority but I do agree it’s to soon for some to appreciate the good years he had here. If he had left after 2012 some would remember him as the GOAT while others would be mad he left after that. There’s really no winning when discussing a coach leaving.

I think any coach that wins a title should have his name up there personally
