Calipari ''“I’m not letting [Zvonimir Ivisic] shoot any threes,"

One of my favorite moments from the genius Calipari was when he tried to turn the most finessed guy in big man history - Skal Labissiere - into a post-up big man.

That's when we all really knew we had a savant of a head coach. Incredible stuff, and you guys are so right in defending him against these anti-Cal thugs.
That is the most exaggerated comment, next to ulis should have played more in the Wisconsin game. Skal was used as a post player about the first 5 games that season.
In college if you have a 7 ft center he had better be able to get in the post and maneuver around. Having a great center is what separates you .

Cal is just getting Z ready for the NBA. He can already shoot from the perimeter and pass but he has no post up game.
This will get him more ready for the NBA; it just won't be the best use of him, in terms of winning games, in his one year at Arky.

He eventually got it to where he wanted at the end. Forcing the ball down low to Mitchell and having us score well below our season average to a mid major to lose in the first round
True, and it was frustrating as hell, but honestly the Oakland loss was a blessing in disguise. Had we gotten to the Sweet 16 or E8, Cal is likely still the coach here.
