I'm actually OK with it as long as he's truly ready and Brock is still hurt (or iffy enough that there's no reason to risk more severe injury). However, does that mean Wimsatt is now being kicked to the curb and, if so, how's he and the rest of the team going to take that? I mean, Boley has had, what, 10 snaps total this year and suddenly he's starting? I'm all about playing younger guys as this season is lost regardless. I hope they give Boley at least a fighting chance of being successful and craft a game plan that plays to his strengths. With a porous OL, unless Boley is significantly better than either BV or GW at reading defenses quickly, Boley may look as uncomfortable as the other two.

I think Boley plays a lot, but I think Brock starts and Boley plays the 2nd quarter to the end. He should then be put on the shelf and let Texas hammer the older guys.

Actually I am OK with it whether or not Brock is still hurt or not. We have seen what Brock can do, it is a lost year, put the youngster in against a lesser opponent and see if there is talent there. Get some run with the 1's, if he struggles, what exactly did you harm by seeing ?

Let's not overthink this thing. Start Boley with GW as backup, don't even dress BV so as to get him healed up for the last 2 games. Re Boley, all we've been hearing is he's making good progress, is the second coming of Couch. Let's see. You're playing a 1-9 FCS team, if you can't beat them with what you got then sell the equipment, bag up the unis and shut down the program.

Brock and Wimsatt are both beat up. It will a major surprise if Boley doesn’t start.

Stoops can't afford to lose this game. Boley isn't starting. If he does, it's just for show and GW will get the bulk of the snaps. He's not ready to start against anybody, especially with this OL.

See 2016 New Mexico St game when Drew Barker started... everyone including the coaches thought there was no reason to play Stephen Johnson.

GW is out of eligibility with 3 games left to play. And not good. No one on that team is going to be twisted about him not starting

If the OL struggles against Murray then should have their scholly's revoked.
Cutter should be able to manage this game with ease as should be the case with any QB on the roster.

Boley certainly can't pass any worse than Wimsatt.......Wimsatt is horrible, why do you think lowly Rutgers dumped him??? Boley may be the future and might as well get him some game experience, especially since this season is lost.

Actually lose to Murray and Stoopid might get closer to being fired.......one can hope

No downside whatsoever to playing Boley. We need to see what we've got and begin developing some in house talent. Other SEC schools aren't afraid to start young QB's.
I understand the sentiment, but don't the coaches see these guys in practice and constantly evaluate them ??
Decisions like this, to start someone seemingly out of the blue, seem like desperation or succumbing to pressure from outside the coaches' offices. Having said that, if he starts ... I hope he plays well and provides an encouraging blueprint for the future of KY football.

That the coaches "constantly evaluate them" I see as a chief reason Boley's being considered as the starter Sat. Don't forget, too, that QB1 is nursing an injury so what better time to see what the young guy can do? I don't see it as desperate but more fortunate timing.

So yeah, maybe they've seen his progression in practice and have decided that given our situation, it makes sense to let him play. Why would you assume it's a desperation move?

Simply because he hasn’t been playing any all season. If he were improving enough to garner a start, it seems he would’ve been playing more recently in games. That’s how I see it. As I said … if he plays, I hope he plays well. We’ll see …

You're missing the point that BV is nursing an injury. If he were healthy I'd be in total agreement with you.

He only played in 4 games as an early entry true freshman. Only 4 seasons played, counting the current. I assume he has a RS if he wants it.

BV and GW are both listed on the roster as Juniors, so I assume both are eligible to play next year. I can be wrong, of course.

BV/GW both have one year left AFTER this year.

That's what everybody said about Drew Barker's start against New Mexico St...

Was NMSU worse than Murray?
This Murray team is a bad football team.
I would expect a victory if we just put Demi and Wilcox in the backfield and let Demi be a wildcat QB.
The defense alone should win this game.
Barker was a good HS QB but he never had the buzz that Cutter has had.
Only one way to find out what you have and that s putting him in a sink or swim moment.
Putting him in with a comfortable lead tells you nothing.
Let him have the pressure of getting the team in the end zone.

Only the coaches know if Boley is ready, so if he plays, then I support that decision especially if BV is still banged up. As for Wimsatt, he was brought in as a back up who could run and take some snaps/hits of BV or whoever is starting. He was under no illusion that he might earn the starters role for anything more than emergency situations. I suspect if this was the UL game, Wimsatt may start over Boley. This is a see what we have and please don't transfer game.

You have to get CB reps at this point. To develop him because he maybe the guy going forward, hopefully because of talent and potential but good chance out of necessity.

Way things are trending I suspect either BV or GW may hit the portal. Maybe both.

This staff is atrocious when it comes to offense, specifically passing game and QB development.

If either of those two have any visions of a decent season, good coaching, getting to throw in even a marginal offense they’ll look elsewhere.

I heard an assistant Coach, early in the season use rare praise for a youngster: “Elite in every respect.”

It was early in the season, and the Coach had no particular reason for pumping Boley.
Anybody see Cutter play in HS? I know he’s much improved now but does he have an accurate arm and able to distribute the ball to all the weapons?

Barker looked phenomenal until he broke his back. The first half against Southern Miss was the best half one of our QB’s has put up in a long, long time.

The darkest part of me is really really tempted for this to happen. Murray is so bad I don’t think we can lose this game, but what if…..
I'm not convinced that Barnyard would fire Stoops even if we lose to Murray. It might convince Stoops to retire however.
