Sadly, the 1962 Mets all time futility record is probably safe for now, but 110 losses now seems way more likely than not.

The Reds have only lost 100 games in a season one time ever (1982) but there is no possibility of avoiding season no. 2 in 2022

It will get a lot uglier by the time the team is gutted at the July 31st trade deadline with Castillo, etc.

Looks like they’ve already conceded the fact that they won’t be part of the post season. They are allowing a Topgolf event in their ballpark in October. 😆

My favorite part of the article is this gem...

A total of 20 hitting bays will open for registration Monday, June 27 at 10 a.m.. Reds season ticket holders can participate in a presale starting June 23.

Tee times can be reserved in one-hour increments. Up to six participants are allowed in a hitting bay, with prices starting at $65 for player tickets and $40 for students.

OK, here's what gets me. Reds' management gutted the team to the point that they have no shot at the post season, and it's not even the All Star break yet. So...they tell the folks that bought 81 sets of tix that they can have first shot at buying in to an event that will take place in the empty ball park. Wouldn't it make more sense to tell season ticket holders they can get a round for free? "Sorry for screwing you so royally. Here's a freebie!" Are they that tone deaf? Is it just me!?!

Reds now 0-7 vs. Dodgers, losing by a total of 52-18. 🤣 🤣 🤣

Honestly, if they played in the NL West, the Mets record would definitely be in danger.

The Mets are looking to skull f*** the Reds again in another trade as a front runner for Castillo just like they did with Dilson Herrera for Jay Bruce. Not the deepest farm system in terms of quality prospects after some of the All-Stars they've unloaded for with Lindor, Chris Bassit, Javier Baez last year. You can expect the Reds to trade Castillo to the lowest bidder instead of waiting for the most desperate team with the best offer.

Apparently this is the best New York could offer in a quantity over quality trade package.

Reds receive SS Ronny Mauricio, excellent move considering Matt McLain is a SS soon to be at the MLB level and the Reds are still high on Barrero for some reason. Mauricio strictly a SS, hasn't played any other position in MILB.

Also, receive
RHP, Jordany Ventura
OF, Alex Ramirez

Color me unimpressed.

Mets best trade package for Castillo

"The Mets have shown a willingness to trade good prospects for premium players. They dealt J.T. Ginn, their second-best pitching prospect, for Chris Bassitt in the offseason...However, because their farm system isn't so deep, it might be more of a quantity over quality deal they'd (the Mets) make."

I don't take glee in the Reds misery watching them lose nor root for them to set anymore negative records in losing but fans should stop going to games, supporting this ownership and force the league to interfere. The Castellini's bank too much on the Reds tradition of the past and fans caring to a fault which gives them no incentive to improve and why fans suffer watching this pathetic excuse of a glorified International League team.

Great start by Ashcraft bouncing back after a couple of rough starts in a 4-2 Reds win. Last West Coast trip of the season though the schedule doesn't let up anytime soon.

Winners in 3 of the last 4. Took 4 of 6 on the season from the Giants. Have to wonder how many starts Castillo has left in a Reds uniform and at what point in July they finally trade him. The Reds should absolutely wait until the end for the best offer when team's get desperate though I don't have faith in the FO getting the most in a return for Luis. 6 scoreless innings tonight vs the Cubs.

Meanwhile Jesse Winker had an eventful weekend in the melee between the Angels & Mariners this weekend. Raisel Iglesias also suspended for his role in the brawl.

15-7, was just 4 before a useless home run by Pham in the 9th. Brought in LF/utility player Max Shrock to pitch in the 8th inning. Cubs racked up 23 hits on the Reds. Only the Reds, Nats, A's & Royals have a worse record than Chicago sitting at 4th in the NL Central. Ahead of Cincinnati though. It's only going to get worse after July 31st. Probably before once the rest of the league cherry picks anyone they want from the Reds.

So last night Rays at Reds. Rays 14.5 GB their division leader. Reds 17.5 GB their division leader. Rays 45-37, Reds 29-54. 😆

10-5 1st Sweep of the season! I went to the series last time the Reds swept Tampa Bay at GABP in 2005 when they were the Devil Rays with Lou Piniella managing them.

5 in a row, nice double play to end the game and hand the Yankees their 1st loss of the season with a lead in the 9th inning. Gerrit Cole on the mound and chased their All-Star closer out of the game and an old friend Wandy Peralta finished the job.

Most improbable win of the year and something to build on yet they never seem to do any building in the 2nd half over the years.

It's been awhile but the Reds built on the 2nd half run in 2009, made the trade at the deadline for Scott Rolen that was perhaps the best run the Reds had in 2010, 12-13 in the last 25 years. Like Sadak was saying last night, just want to see these young guys get more playing time to develop. About all the Reds can salvage from this season at this point
