He gone … unvaccinated Vikings coach

I know several who got severely sick and a couple who died after taking the vaccine.
One of my best friends is in bad condition right now with heart problems after taking it. Said he is also having bad problems with his legs not working right.

This vaccine is much worse than the actual virus. A virus that is so deadly they had to include cancer deaths, car wrecks, drive by shootings etc etc etc all in to drive the numbers up.

Your much better off getting the virus and developing natural immunity to it
Anecdotes don't stand up nearly as well as the hundreds of thousands of folks who've been assessed via stringent research papers and the millions who have been monitored after vaccine rollout late last year.

One or two examples of any perceived side effects can be pure chance. Seriously, it happens all the time because life is messy. That's why we need large samples and carefully crafted studies to eliminate bias as much as possible. I work at a university. It's likely that 90%+ of the ~150 people I interact with on a monthly basis now have gotten both jabs (or one of J&J, of course). Know how many had any noticeable, long-term side effects? None. And yes, I've asked nearly all of them. Molecular biologists who will know more about immune function and vaccines than I ever will were basically in line as soon as doses came to town.

Same with my family. Hell, my gun-toting, outlaw country-loving uncle got his shot the minute it was available. No side effects.

The fact of the matter remains that long-term impacts of the virus are KNOWN to be detrimental. We've got folks like Kirk Herbstreit who still have no sense of taste or smell. Brain fog and lethargy are additional detriments. Lung scarring and organ damage caused by the virus and low O2 levels will impact global healthcare for decades. Even asymptomatic cases have been shown to inflame the heart while mild cases have reduced gray matter in the brain (recent study). Clots are an issue, too.

We now live in a time when people who are on an ICU bed or are about to be intubated are still pushing anti-vax rhetoric. Maybe they're trying to become martyrs, maybe they're just stubborn. It's damn difficult for people to admit when they've made serious mistakes. I feel like more people would come out as pro-vaccine if a lot of folks on the left would just stop being a bunch of dicks and a lot of folks on the right would look at the consequences of their actions. Seriously, to any liberals and leftists who are guilty of saying "I told you so" as someone's loved one is LITERALLY drowning in their own fluids, that's about as horrific and detrimental to our cause than anything I can think of. It's a small percentage. Kinda like the vocal basketball fans that threaten and berate college players. But still. Think before you type. I digress.

---

Masking was literally the least we could've asked for. Folks refused. Vaccination is a better alternative (both is even better), but still folks refused (and now the Delta variant is likely going to shut a lot of stuff down again this winter). Fox News folks are starting to come forward and promote the vaccine. I don't know if it's a lack of Trump or the realization that this shit's about to hit their base hard, but they're slowly beginning to talk positively about the vaccine. The Alabama governor... ALABAMA, has started talking about the vaccine's benefits. This isn't going away soon, and it certainly isn't going away before it takes out a LOT more people.

Israel has a ton vaxxed. Delta is breaking through. LA has a ton vaxxed. Breaking through. Vaccines are still effective, but the Delta variant has altered spike proteins which helps it bypass the OG vaccines. The summer was nice while the vaccines held, but until we get the updated booster shots, I think we're right back to where we were before last fall.

I know I might not change your mind. I really do. But, I'd like to take a moment to ask you as someone who cares about Kentuckians and BBN, that you carry an open mind.

Be well. ✌🏼

Thank you for the cogent, empathetic post.
Lots of solid information to think about.

Regarding people “changing their mind” … here is a video that I stumbled on recently that I found interesting to at least THINK about and consider.

Interesting video. However, I've read studies that go back and forth on the topic. Personally, I think it's detrimental to put people in boxes. Nature hates being put into a box and labeled as one thing. People are biological organisms. We just dress better and have phones, which are two things we have over the chimps and bonobos.

I think to categorize conservatives as fear-based, emotional creatures, dehumanizes people who identify as such. We all experience fear. We all experience emotion. We're all human.

So, while I believe there may be evidence to suggest that brains are different between the two ideological tendencies, I also think there's a lot of folks who break that mold and that's why psych is having a hard time pinning this and many other theories down. There's just no way to change minds unless we make real human connections and help each other realize that we're all just people trying to do what we feel is best for our survival and for our families at the end of the day.

Yep except there is precious little reason not to get the vaccine.
I agree 100% about getting the vaccine. What I thought was tough is the decision employers have to make about requiring vaccinations and the employee’s decision to risk termination by refusing the vaccine.

I'm sure he's going to be the one laughing in the end after the 3rd, 4th, 5th etc vaccine comes out and everyone is dropping like flies. All the while those people dying from it will be blamed on a *new* variant
Conspiracy thory much? Let's go back to, the refs didn't give UK any calls, and Florida got all the calls. I can deal with those conspiracies

We all saw in Fauci's emails that their was 2 treatments that worked great but publicly he denied that they worked at all. Hydroxychloroquin and Ivermectin. They are off patent of course and no money to be made by the vampires and the gov to control you.

Clearly walking around you see those who cannot think for themselves and want to be told what to do by their master.
Put that mask on that does nothing to stop a virus but causes bacterial pneumonia!! Yes um!

Take this experimental treatment that we don't even call a vaccine that has killed every test animal eventually that's injected with it! Yes um!

Stay at home and don't work while the whole country is falling apart because nothing is getting done! Yes um!

Better take this injection or you can't buy, sell or work! Yes um!
Winner! Follow the $$$$...

You are a very thoughtful person with excellent communication skills … thanks for replying.

My ofc had a rash of positives the past 2 weeks. Every single one was "vaccinated". Taking the jab doesnt stop anyone from catching and transmitting.
I am mandated to get flu shot as I work in healthcare. I also will have to get Covid shot, which I have and am on my deathbed to listen to some on here. I could refuse the vaccines, and they could refuse to employ me. Covid is killing people. A 5 year died in Nutcase Greene Taylor's district, then she tweeted, don't mask childrwen. It is beyond sad and pathetic that this turned political

My point was the "vaccine" doesnt stop anyone from spreading. If that is their argument, then they are losing that case.

Except that it does.

The old vaccines aren't as effective against the variant, but they still prevent a good chunk of infections (~70% to 88% depending on which 2-dose and which study). Now, that's not the 94-95% we had with alpha COVID, but it's still pretty dang good. And besides, even if someone contracts the virus, assuming they've had two doses and are at full immunity, they will not have as serious an infection. The vaccines still do a damn good job of keeping people out of the hospital.

Not sure how J&J is faring, though I'm assuming not as well considering there's talk of boosters.

Variants breaking through the vaccines was inevitable. Global vaccine rollout has been dismal, and every infection is another chance for the virus to mutate.

That said, getting two (emphasis on two) jabs is a lot better than winging it and hoping the Delta variant doesn't put you up in a hospital bed.

Cheers! 🤙🏼

My understanding is that a vaccinated person is far less likely to transmit the virus than an unvaccinated person is …

That isn't totally true either. He can be compelled to have the vaccine.
How so? Theoretically he can be compelled but not by the NFL. States can potentially enact mandatory vaccination requirements provided they satisfy the Jacobsen standards (which wouldn’t be difficult right now).

Yep, I'm in that boat. I prefer that my employees get vaccinated, but I wont force them. That said, the government easily could.

Glad he got fired. Political dogma has over taken common sense.

He doesn't want the vax, fine, bet they don't have trouble filling his position.

Attitudes like his are why we're about national mandates again. Trumpian oan nonsense.
What's tragic is that he could've been the hero here. I'm not here to debate policy. Dude could've touted the vaccines as HIS. He could've made his own family's vaccination much more public. Yes, Trump received the jab(s). He could've pushed the vaccine HARD. DT could've completely flipped the script and we as a country would be in such an incredible position right now.

Instead, he ripped his mask off triumphantly after Walter Reed was minutes from tubing him, got into a vehicle while still infected, and continued to downplay the pandemic and masking. It's honestly a modern tragedy, and I'm afraid we'll pay for it this coming cold and flu season.

I hate to disparage another poster, but this is utter nonsense.

I’d encourage you to read JPFisher’s well-reasoned, fact-based posts on the subject in this thread. The bottom line is that we’ll never get COVID behind us in this country until everyone is vaccinated (and continues receiving booster shots to address new variants). I think we’d all like to avoid another lockdown (and the additional death toll, of course).

Ivermectin, you mean the horse dewormer. You rather eat a deworming medication to kill parasitic worms thinking it will kill a virus?

Maybe you should wear your pets flea and tick collar to create an anti-Covid barrier around you.

Did you really type that with a straight face? Please show the facts that prove that the vaccine is worse than the virus, I'll wait right here to see them.

There are plenty of big name players that are refusing to take the shot. Good for them as well. I have friends that have taken this experimental injection and have lost the ability to function. Can't walk or talk and continuously shake. Some have caught the virus multiple times after taking their second round of experimental injection. This is a slurp fest for some of you. But hey your body your choice. Right.

Except that it doesn't. I've watched it with my own eyes. It doesn't stop anyone from catching or passing. Now ... if you want to talk severity, maybe you have an argument for ppl to get the vaccine. That, at this point, should be a personal choice. But, the "vaccine" does not stop someone from catching or passing. Even our med group stated that back in March.

According to the CDC, a few weeks ago, more people died from complications due to the vaccine than from complications due to the disease. The total number is now (CORRECTION) passing 11K (not 70K as i earlier posted).

People either don't hear about this, because of $$$ or because they are too busy lighting candles at the alter of Fraudci.

Do you all ever have any proof to back up these inane claims? No, of course you don't, you just parrot things you read on facebook.

Republican Alabama governor Kay Ivey is extremely frustrated with the antivax crowd in her state which has a very low vaccination rate while covid is increasing extremely fast there. Can't link the articles but someone else can with better access to a computer.

When they have to play football in an empty stadium again I guess the anti-vax crowd in Alabama will be thrilled

All of a sudden when you find out your base, which is already poised to dwindle significantly over the coming decade because of boomers dying off naturally, is dwindling even more because hundreds are dying every day from COVID due to the anti-vaccine rhetoric they keep peddling, that tends to change things. If it was largely Biden voters dying you can bet your ass they would be going even harder with the anti-vaccine rhetoric.

Unless a law is passed to prevent it, businesses can require vaccination for employees and customers.
