When my son played T-ball, I was extrasuperduper fired up to show him The Bad News Bears (original, of course). Probably the last movie I ever rented at Blockbuster. Wife and daughter (then 11) watched it as well - oops.

I had forgotten just how bad some of the language was - not so much the F-bombs, but the slurs. It mostly went over my son's head as well, but I ended up apologizing / explaining to my daughter.

Cable sanitizes these movies and you forget about the stuff they cut out. Wife and I had the same experience showing Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club to the kids. Oh well, live and learn. [laughing]

Funny how Kelly Lee goes from being the cool kid to total weirdo later in life.

Tanner…wonder how he turned out.

Game changer from Kroger...

Yeah, not sure how you got by without being able to mix minced garlic, mayo, dijon mustard, yellow mustard and BBQ sauce for so long.

-I absolutely marvel when I see a grown man wearing a backwards hat. The sheer inanity is spellbinding for me in person. Doubly so if it's a fitted hat.

-If we're making Starting Lineup figures for fans, give me khakis, loafs, collared shirt SEC fan. One of Richie with a domestic in hand would be fantastic tbh. "May Run into a Client" guy.

-BB King Live at The Regal if you need an album for patio drinking this summer.

-FIL gifted the lass and me a zebra rug from a hunt in South Africa a few years ago for our anniversary. Thing is absolutely bitching in our cocktail/living/sitting room.

-While trimming the walk I threw a rock through our generic glass storm door last week, shattering it to pieces. In my 25 years of weed eating that was a first. I was already looking to replace it with a wood door so it's whatever. Not cool seeing all that glass in the threshold of your front door where kids are running in and out of barefoot every day, though.

-Nashville this weekend for a friend's engagement party that is speculated to be the actual wedding. At some garden wedding venue in Franklin. Reds, blue Oxford, navy blazer, loafs for Dad. "Garden Cocktail Attire" so skipping the tie.

-The Grady, a new hotel downtown, looks dope AF. Need to check that out.

-Hendricks, Jack Rudy tonic syrup, lime FTW. Been carrying me since Memorial Day. I'll be back in the bourbon come September. The frozen G&T is strongly recommended also.

-IOP next week for the 4th. No laying up this year.

-My 2019 Top Songs Spotify list is far superior to 2020's. Maybe not too surprising given the shit sandwich of a year it was. Much better range of music and generally happier as expected. Or, perhaps it's just the awful association the 2020 list gives. Worship Spotify. I still can't believe I used to by individual songs and albums after having nearly every song in the world at my complete disposal 24/7.

-Down 12 lbs since January. Blood work came back damn near perfect, same for blood pressure. Absolutely getting shit right before I start my 40's.

-One thing I'm ready to experience again at Commonwealth is watching a deep pass play develop. I've said it before, but a wideout shaking loose and a safety trying to recover while a Wildcat QB takes aim makes the faithful rise and hold their breath. It's one of my favorite things in sports. For reasons I don't care to go into, it's obviously been awhile.

-Flank steak SZN.

I didn't want to say anything but I didn't recognize you when I first saw you when we played paddleball in February.

Same with peanut butter and countless other items w/ simple ingredients...no idea why we don't make them at home. How did we get by....

Also took in my first FC match at Lynn Family Stadium. Was dope AF. Constant action on the field, great seats everywhere, easily accessed bars... Will be back.

Couldn’t agree more.

Have season tickets to Nashville SC. Awesome environment, predictable timing, in/out in 2 hours, constant action. Highly recommend taking in a live game.

- Looking forward to checking out the new FC Cincinnati stadium. Also curious how the West End of Cincinnati is going to transform. Not the best area but a ton of history.

- Random and have no intention of ever visiting but has anyone ever been to Galveston? What’s that place like?

- Really not looking forward to my daughter determining my friendships in a few years- ie. her friends’ parents. Already dicey enough with my wife’s friends’ husbands. Overall, it’s been good but it’s a hit-or-miss situation.

- Perfect weather today.

- Turn 42 in a few days. Wife has some sort of surprise event set up for Saturday. Appreciate the thought and effort but I hate surprises and have made that known for years. I’m sure it will be a lot of fun, though.

- Also two weeks from being “over” summer and counting the days to Labor Day weekend and college football (although less so this summer than in the past).

The Hooters was pretty solid. We told our attractive Hispanic waitress that we were oil barons and she seemed receptive.

Oh great, more excuses for Chad to avoid coming to games…but should make for some interesting gyero.

-Not sure when I'll make it but the Lynn Family Stadium look dope af.

-We lucked out on G's friends determining our friends. CSCI and a bunch of their crew with 80's mixed in. Really solid group. Couple of my buddies a few years ahead of me in fatherhood had similar success. Embrace it, might as well or you'll be miserable.

-Speaking of health. Threw up 235 x 8 with plenty of comfort yesterday on my last set. Easily pushing well above my body weight is a nice feat.

I have no issues with Bad News Bears, Sixteen Candles, or Breakfast Club. Great ****ing movies, and I have no problems with my kids watching them.
I'd be fine with them pulling out the 2 scenes where an 11 year old drops several ethnic slurs and an N bomb. They're fairly inconsequential anyways. But other than that, I'm good with it.

I've always wanted to go to Galveston. Take in some history and do some fishing.

This morning was strange considering it was the second day of summer but felt like mid-fall.

Speaking of fall, were over the hump on day length. They just get shorter until the depths of winter.

UKFB looking like it's going to bring in a Bama like class along the Oline. Multiple 4 star and up beasts looking like they are coming here.

Waiting on a furniture delivery. Almost as cumbersome as waiting on an appointment with the cable guy.

Frozen pizza for lunch, cheap and easy.

There's some old charm but it's not like Savannah or Charleston and its a lot smaller than one would think. The water is usually brownish and murky. I wouldn't make a special trip but it's worth checking out if you are in the area.

Stanford to this day is still trying to figure out how to keep Shep from coming off those screens and bombing treys.

~Glen Campbell can still hear the Galveston sea winds blowing.

~Kelly Leak was never asked for his birth certificate....nor was Amanda. Danny Almonte re-do.

~Nice lift, Anth.

~Nice weather for May....looking forward to a consistent 90+.

~The state is going to have to help the restaurants soon or there will be more closings....they can't keep up w/ the customer demand w/ only a fraction of their staff.

~Lex really needs a casino.

~Anyone every try Garrison Bros? They are awfully proud of their product at their price point.
