Lots of laughing at Democrats and the liberal media for fawning over this guy. I could go on but won't.

Yeah, kind of what the rest of us were thinking. As this shakes out and every major shoe company, sports coach, athlete, AAU figure, parent, and connection to college athletics is being investigated...

...those damn liberals!

Translation please? That's too long for me to read.
Cliff Notes:
  • Avenatti claimed to have a former AAU coach who was ready to blow the lid off recruiting violations after Nike refused to renew his apparel contract.
  • Speaking to two presumably very high-priced NYC outside lawyers, and likely Nike's very smart in-house lawyer, Avenatti offered Nike the opportunity to pay his client and hire Avenatti to conduct an internal investigation for $15-25m.
  • Being the smart attorneys they probably are, Nike contacted the SDNY who recorded (video and audio) subsequent meetings in which Avenatti tried to extort Nike.
In summary:
  • He f*cked....

Translation please? That's too long for me to read.

Three specific players were named by Avenatti, but not named in complaint, and he had more names.

Wanted hush money to not have a PC. Wanted to be hired to do internal investigation. Wanted money for his client, an AAU coach terminated by Nike.

He is effed and will be spending lots of time in prison.

The AAU coach was reportedly out of California and we haven't had a West Coast recruit since Marcus Lee.

False.

Doesn't the complaint say the first act of extortion occurred March 20, 2019? If so, that's moving at the speed of light for the feds, meaning they have one or more reasons to try and keep him quiet.

Just a wild guess, but it seems like Avenatti might have made an enemy or two at DOJ or higher up in the executive branch. No clue who that could be, though.

If you're taking shots at the President or a multi-billion dollar corporation, you have to assume they'll be coming after you hard and fast. Meanwhile, this dipshit isn't even paying his taxes? FOH.

Don't know why I read some of the Twitter comments but you know, here's why I hate Duke fans almost as much as I hate UNC/UL fans.

Phil Knight literally stole the shoe market from all of Asia and then forced them to make all of his shoes in sweatshops while he kept all the money. A dweeb porn-lawyer isnt going to win a head-to-head battle here.

Not entirely true. If you're a readier, Shoe Dog is a solid book and autobiography by Phil Knight about his life and Nike's rise to success. If anything, his Japanese counterparts did him pretty dirty several times before finding the nice Chinese folks who make Nike shoes today.

Regardless, Porn Lawyer has nothing on Nike's attorneys. Also wonder if any coaches names come from his camp with little to no evidence, how sky high the civil lawsuits against him will be for slander and defamation of character.

He's royaly f**ked.

Gaulart & Maliclet - Small lil french restaurant (very quick and casual) near Broad & King. Dope food.
@rudd1 Fast & French is great. Alternated between there and Cru Cafe regularly for Saturday lunches while residing full-time and still do when we get down that way.

Like SAE's list. Would also recommend Fat Hen out Maybank Highway on John's Island, Leon's Oyster Shop and The Ordinary on King.

Does him trying to extort Nike with whatever evidence he has or claims to have obtained um..taint the evidence? Basically, did he also F himself over and ruin the case for anyone else?

Anyone else just get the email with ticket pricing from the Railbird Music Festival being held at Keeneland this summer? General Admission will be $120-$160, VIP Passes for $475, and something called the Sperfecta Pass for $875. I know this is a 2 day music festival, and Ive not been to one of those in YEARS, but are those prices in line with the Bonoroo and other multi day festivals? The argument would be is those are successful, and long running events, this things is just trying to get off the ground.

Who cares? You live 5 minutes away from the venue and throw money around like Schem-lite. Just go. Maybe get you a dope sweatband for your huge head, bunch of all-access bracelets and an ironic t-shirt.

See you out there!!

I've heard Nike *really* didn't like UK not playing in the PK80 tournament.

We had the Herky Rupp Invitational to play in, so you'd think they understand.

Where is BBdK?

Saw where Tech 9 passed. Have no idea who that is/was only to find out he is/was a famous battle rapper.

Maybe BBdK will drop a freestyle in his honor.....

As predicted(able) it's Ayton's AAU coach and most likely Zona because looks like he also coached Solomon Hill.

ESPN:

Sources told ESPN that the AAU coach is Gary Franklin of the California Supreme program in Los Angeles. Franklin's former players include NBA players Deandre Ayton (who played at Arizona) and De'Anthony Melton (USC) of the Suns, Solomon Hill (Arizona) of the Pelicans and Aaron Holiday (UCLA) of the Pacers. He also has coached several current college players, including Oregon's Bol Bol and UCLA's Shareef O'Neal
