That's an all-time turd right there.
yup, crown that take, contest over

Gordon Hayward averages 20 PPG. Bird is 10X the player he is.

I hated Bird and those Celtic teams. HATED.

To be fair, Bird is almost 60 years old. Not many 60 year olds who could play meaningful minutes in the NBA right now, although I think he's crafty enough to get off a shot. Mainly because I think opponents would lay off him, given his age and health issues.

Actually got the exact response I was looking for.
Just like this gem on if our 2010 starting five could contend for a title now in the NBA?

That team couldnt even make a final 4. Dont see how they could be NBA title contenders.

No, that thread got buried and got no play and last I checked the only person that responded to me was the original poster.

Cannot be overstated how miserable this snow is. 90" this winter. Absurd.

Shoveled my grill out of 5 ft snow, though. Ribeye on the frying pan wasn't gonna do it.

Interesting article on Billy Walters and his gambling syndicate. He wins 55-60% of the time, which is unheard of. He's essentially an arbitrage specialist.

Billy Walters

So is there something going on with the finances at UL? Seems like they are doing their damnedest to keep people quiet about "something."

That article has been mentioned or linked 2-3 times already...but yeah, it's fascinating stuff. Dude is just an incredible story...heard lots of good stories about him on the golf course from people that know him or his people.

Jerry Anneken wins about 95% of the time, which is almost double what Billy does. Talk about unheard of.

98%.

Tuesday Shorts:

- I am PUMPED about this one, have had it circled all year long. Baton Rouge during Mardi Gras season. Place is going to be bumpin'.

- Surprised at the 11.5 line. Hope Vegas knows more than I do.

- Is Towns making that Boogie/AD "leap" right now? It has taken him a little bit longer but looks like it.

- Ohio looking at legalizing weed. I'm sure KY will get around to considering it in 2030. Bible belt!

I have zero doubt that LSU will come out with their hair on fire tonight. What I'll be interested to see is what kind of shape they're in after about 10 minutes or so when the adrenaline has worn off. They only use about 6 guys, so if Jones lets them burn out early, they could have issues.

Also, I think Donovan/UF showed a pretty good plan of attack against us, but I question whether LSU can pull off a similar strategy.

El espectáculo es excelente.

- Somewhat nervous about tonight. They're pulling out all of stops. Big and talented front line. Place will be bananas.

They don't know crap about basketball and generally don't care at all but whenever we roll into town and the game is close to Fat Tuesday those coon asses get all kinds of rowdy.

- Mags talked about it yesterday but what's helping Towns is without Lyles he doesn't have to deal with that shadow defender as much with the defense having to respect the perimeter more of a 3 guard lineup and essentially he has more room to operate.

- Think Cal is trying to keep em loose with that Lyles tweet but I'd really like to know if he's playing tonight.

- Lassy likes the show Nashville and I've gone along the ride with her watching it on demand. Not bad. Season just started back up again.

Nashville's a fun show, we've watched since Day 1.

It's "her" 1 show that I agree to watch with her, being that I pick everything else -- figure I could do a lot worse. Any other bullshit (Scandal, Real Housewhores, etc) is on her own time/days off.

...she's WAY into Downton Abbey though, ran through the entire series in about 2 weeks early winter. Seems everyone agrees it's a great show, just can't make myself sit down and watch it for whatever reason.

- I'm nervous as a rattlesnake...but that's a good thing. It's nice to have two games like this in a row, Plus, it's college basketball. As much as I want to go undefeated, we all know the score. We all know a loss won't hurt us and may actually help us.

- "Nashville" is good. It's one of those odd shows, where the setting is actually the best character. I don't think it's any coincidence the city of Nashville really started to blow up as soon as Sloot left.

- Good piece on SI about Fowler/Davis and Gameday. Not sure who I like better- both are tremendous. Not sure which is more lucrative, but I think I'd prefer hosting Gameday CBB and CFB over play-by-play myself. What about you guys?

I was nervous about Florida, but not at all for this one....EVEN THOUGH it was the one game I've circled all year as the most likely for us to drop.

I think it's partly b/c it's hard to get worked up over and SEC West team, and partly b/c I don't really think I'll be all that upset if we lose.

Now, I say that...and I'll for certain have the in-game redass if we play poorly, but still.

-I *am* already nervous about March, though. It's "win it all or bust", and that's a tough thing to deal with. My confidence is high, but not as high as in '96 or '12.

* Sadly, I'm skipping the game in Baton Rouge tonight. Weak, I know. But, after 4 days in Miami/Key West, and the lassie's family coming to stay with us for the next week of Mardi Gras....ugh. The LAST thing I want to do right now is anything that requires getting off the couch. Well, except for clean up the yard, the house, wash the sheets, go grocery shopping, wash the dogs, and about a million other things to get ready for visitors.

* Key West is awesome. In fact, we're already planning our next trip there this summer. Judging by pricing, the heat of the summer must be their down time. For the week after the 4th of July....

- round trip flight for 2 to Fort Lauderdale = 9,000 points
- round trip shuttle to Key West for 2 = $100
- hotel ~ $200/night

* That's a great little crew we had for Ragnar. The 3 Schem boys are great, plus Wodie Sloot's cousin and some random dude who's a forensic IT specialist for the US government. Uhhh....yeah. Don't f with that dude.

* Highlight of the whole race:

Considering the destination was Key West, it should come as no surprise that there were a LOT of hoe moes. In fact, we started with the most flamboyant of those teams. One dude was wearing skin tight spandex booty shorts, with a stuffed front pocket/pouch for his junk.

At the halfway point, there was a high school that was open for runners, and they were letting people use the shower room. So, MCF is finishing up his turn, and his pops follows him right after.....and so do a whole shower room full of kweers. According to MCF, his dad basically walked into a locker room full of dudes snapping each other with towels, joking about sharing a stall, and helping each other wash their hard-to-reach areas.

* There was really only one place I was dying to visit on the island: Captain Tonys. If you're a Jimmy Buffett fan, he was a patron and long-time friend of Tony, and sang about him and the bar in The Last Mango In Paris. It was one of those places where people staple business cards and dollar bills on the ceilings and wall. We put one up:

"ROB BOWLING FOR MAYOR. -CASEY AND TIFFANY."

Loser.

Speaking of shadow defenders, how awesome is it not having Dykes on 98% of our games?

Sucks we get stuck with Lawson for a few games, but overall, I don't even care as long as we don't have to listen to Jimmy all/air.

Really like the Nessler/Farnham combo.

Touch it, I've pushed my chips in for perfection at this point...marcus, I think the team and Cal has even though they would never say so publicly.

But, I hate this Lyles thing. We should be fine tuning for the postseason at this point, it sucks having him out and the rotations being all weird.

Would like to see Dakari have himself a game tonight, give the big fella a little confidence boost.

And then on the other hand, when there's a prime time SEC game and you're expecting to hear Farnham (who is fantastic), and Darrin Horn pops up on the screen instead...

LSU with the dreaded team benches on bottom of screen arrangement. Just

.

Also wish they'd just admit that purple is their damn school color. This midnight blue nonsense has been wearing on me.

BBdK confided in me that he thinks this team is going to lose in the Sweet 16. He was incredibly sincere and sober when he said it, too.
