That's hilarious. Dropping a racial slur defending the guy who as a cornerstone of his fake persona, was that he was some turbo-progressive. Yeah. They guy who signed a black player AFTER Rupp (the huge racist) was already recruiting blacks.

The awful spelling is pretty fitting trubute considering the education Dean/Roy/UNC cheated so many athletes out of.

I wrote back to tell him that Italians aren't spics...he replied, "well I dont consider them white."

I mean, brady is right, probably best to not poke that bear, especially right after the dude died. Inform that due you prefer Wop or Dego (sp?). Is it Dego or Dago? And why is that a slur?

Hadn't really heard of it before, but sounds interesting.

Can you imagine the wrath if some UNC fan ever made comments about Joe B, or even Cal's death?

"A Hazard, KY man has been arrested and charged with murder in relation to a facebook post mocking John Calipari's death. The victim, a UNC fan, made a post saying "COACH CAL DIED AND WHEN HE TRIED TO GO TO HEAVEN ST. PETER SAID HIS SOUL HAD BEEN VACATED BY THE NCAA!" Billy Joe Wildcat is currently being detained in the Hazard jail on a one million dollar bond."

A guy told me yesterday that he saw Trey Lyles at that new Pies and Pints place on Saturday with a gaggle of hens, so if he doesn't play tomorrow, I'm not sure WTF is going on.

Well, he does have a point. I kind of like this dude now.

Monday:

- This is the game I've circled all year. If we're going to drop one, this will be it. LSU can hurt you inside and guys like Quarterman and Hornby can knock down 3s. Plus, Gray and Quarterman can get to the tin. It's a sin a team with this talent has been so bad, but they'll come out ready Tuesday.

- ...which makes Lyles' apparent absence all the more troubling. We REALLY need him tomorrow.

@ whoever started @HasUKLost "No"

- Man, Aaron has really expanded his game of late. Dude has become a pretty darn good defender. He's getting to the line. He's cash on those one dribble pull-ups. Think we're about to see March Harrison.

- How much has WCS improved from the line? About the only guy I don't like seeing on the line these days is Lee. Everyone else inspires at least a smidgen of confidence from me.

- Another thing I don't get about foodies- spending around $35 to make pizzas at Whole Food...when we could've eaten better pizzas cheaper by ordering from Dewey's.

- That 30-for-30 on the Soviet Union national team was awesome. Fesitov's daughter stole the show, though.

- LOVE this time of year.

Even Goodman has praised Aaron's game as of late pointing how how much it's evolved.

Love that midrange elbow jumper and he's become pretty crafty at drawing fouls. He's also becoming solid at picking off the passing lanes.

He's so confident. He was smiling going into the tunnel at the half like "I've seen this before and we got this."

Not huge on watching games out, but Tin Roof Louisville does it better than anyone.

Turtle knows what's up. Game Volume BLARING, Fight Songs during timeouts, awesome drink specials, etc. Best place to watch a UK game since Varsity Poon back in college.

whenever Lyles is back, lets PLEASE start him. Love Hawkins as I would any instate kid getting to run with the vastly more talented and heralded players from out of state, and he should still get minutes. But put our best damn 5 players out there to start the damn games ain't too much to ask.

as I said on twitter, not to piss on the man's grave but all the discussion about Dean is missing that the man failed pretty badly to win more championships with all the future NBA stars who played for him. and not just a year as they do now, but he had those guys 3 & 4 seasons. The 2 rings he got were giftwrapped by boneheaded decisions by the opponents late.

1st weekend without some form of tackle football since the end of July.

Man it was rough, and will be so until August.

Keith Hornsby has one of the funkiest looking shots you'll ever see from a designated "shooter".

He's also the son of Bruce Hornsby.

-Kinda feel for UVA losing Anderson...I love that guy's game. They are so impressive.

They had TWO (2) turnovers vs. UofL's hectic.rough pressure defense...the lowest vs. a Pitino-coached team in 14 years.

Why the hell would any journalist or basketball person bring that up in discussion of a man who just passed away? Unless the person is evil, we generally highlight the good things and accomplishments in the obit. I'd say that's a pretty honorable thing to do.

But good tweet!

Wodie's boy Collinsworth with 5- count'm- FIVE triple-doubles this season.
laugh.r191677.gif
That's ridiculous. Bet he's getting a whole lot of hand-holding in Provo this winter.

I assume BBdK is just finding out what everyone else knew for 3 months. Or longer. Thanks for letting us know again!!!!

Still don't understand why ESPNMag gets so much hate. Always interesting/different stuff in there...

This issue is the GAMBOL issue...it's nearly cover2cover with interesting articles & stories about Gambol. Huge Billy Walters feature, and also a really cool article about Mickleson's legendary "Tuesday Money Matches", among other things. He's such a prick.

Apparently this Woodbury fella is a real dick.

Blu, in the Marriott, is pretty good.

You've also got a bunch of places on Market in Nulu... Harvest, Earth Friends Cafe, Doc Crow's, Ghyslain

- Saturday night was a blast. Love watching games with Wodie. He's live/die with every possession and keeps me a tab on certain stats/players and scenarios. Anytime we hit a big outside shot he did the Booker arm pump.

For whatever reason I was never deeply concerned, even when they got up 9. Figured they'd come out throwing haymakers.

- Unpopular take... Say what you want but a lot of want Cal does in terms of "Players' First", " La Familia", recruiting elite level players to sacrifice for the team was modeled after Dean Smith. He will even tell you so. Also, hate Carolina or not no need to throw hate on a man on the day he passes. That's cheap.

- My sister and bro in law are going to the game tmw at the Deaf Dome. That place is going to be bonks. A bunch of
crazy coon dogs who really know nothing about basketball but will be ishfaced off booze and taking down #1 fever.

Concerned.

F^ck Dean Smith.

And I don't care if he's dead or not, or when he died. I hated him alive, why would I feel any differently now?

Only coaches I truly loathed growing up were Lute Olsen and Bobby Knight. Guess that was ingrained in me at a young age. The old man firmly believed Olsen framed the Dwayne Casey/1000 in cash/Emery Air Freight deal to Chris Mills and he used the Kentucky job opening twice to get pay raises at Zona.

Bobby Knight speaks for himself.

Step outside your hotel. Look down the street. Find a restaurant. Read the menu. Choose something. And f'ing eat it.

-Two weekends in March where the lass is out of town with the child.
party0026.r191677.gif

-I take umbrage with the phrase "I do _____ or my kids don't eat!"

So, your kids are the first thing on the chopping block if there is any financial hardship? Not the mortgage holder? Or American Express? Utility services? Just no dinner tonight because Time Warner assesses a late fee?

I mean, not feeding my daughter would require apocalyptic circumstances. Biblical plagues, not losing out on a god damn sale. In fact, the list of MF'rs and prospective debtors in this world with accounts receivables that fall behind her nutritional health as a priority is expansive and perpetually growing with every person I meet. Just a stupid thing to say and it annoys the shit out of me.

-Downton Abbey has been pretty good so far. Would really like to see Lady Mary get some kind of comeuppance and soon. You could argue that Matthew's death was just that, but she hasn't changed since. Favorite show on the tele, though. Not sure it's even close.

-PB&J on wheat. Doritos. Diet coke. Could eat that everyday for lunch.

-Best ground chuck/beef for spaghetti? Lass and I go back and forth on it... we try to stay somewhat lean but man, anything above 90/10 is almost not even worth it. We've enjoyed ground turkey, but still prefer beef.

-Mulch is now being sold at Speedway. First sign of spring, IMO.

-I was not concerned at all about Lyles, but must admit that I'm growing somewhat skeptical of the whole thing. I mean, 50/50 for Saturday? Already determined? WTF.

-The only thing I care about is the title. We could go 50/50 the rest of the regular season for all I care. Title.

Sounds like Ricky got a little pissy at Paul Rogers in the postgame interview when Rogers asked about the offense in the 2nd half versus the 1st. What a condescending ass.

Rogers is a total class act and one of the best in the biz.

Dean Smith was 83. He hasn't been relevant for at least 10 years. Him dying is the only way his name was ever going to come up in almost any conversation. If you are going to get your licks in, this week is pretty much your only chance.

Really appreciate SAE's efforts of late to bring back the old fashioned GYERO randoms run-down. It's a lost art.

SAE, we typically go with grass-fed beef, which is usually 85/15. We've done bison as well. I was scared it would be too "gamey" for me, but it's not anymore so than grass-fed beef is.
