Struggling with Louisville mayoral race. My heart wants to vote for Greenberg for old times' sake, but my head wants to avoid all Democrats until control of the party is wrested away from the left-wing nut jobs.
I think Craig truly has his heart in it and will do the right thing. He's much more moderate than the status quo - Bill vs. Hilary. He's also been prepping for this his whole life. With that said, if you voted for him over me in 8th Grade, you can DIAF. :)

Definitely didn't vote for him, so I must've voted for you. Unless there was some other candidate I can't recall.

By the way, speaking of middle school, I bought Mrs. Runge a Manhattan the other night. THAT is something I never thought I'd say.

Took my 3 year old and 1 year old to vote with me. Complete meltdowns by both to the point I didn’t even get to page 2 on the ballot.

Came home and made nachos and gave em leftover bday cake and they were happy.

Guess they hate politics like the rest of us.

Would be nice if they’d trot out a candidate that actually had any common sense and not just a choice of which worthless turd from these two steaming piles of shit. Talking National candidates here not local yocals.

"Knitted winter head-caps"

Oh hell -- I had no idea they were called anything OTHER than toboggans

Moved to AZ around 2017 and casually mentioned possibly needing a toboggan to keep warm as me and 2 locals were planning a camping thing at Mt Lemon -

It was like the whole room came to a brief standstill ......
they just kept asking me over and over why I called "it" - "that" and that. a tobaggan was only a sled

When I asked them what they called it and they said BEANIE --
pissed my pants and darn near threw out my back laughing -- WTF?

Shouldn't it have a little propeller on top?

-i know its way too early...but that team was fun to watch. Cautiously optimistic. I'll leave it at that.

-recruits have flipped since the beginning of time. We thought we'd be better this year...didn't know they were gonna tell Will not to run the ball. Mitch is slow on the nil stuff.

^that said if an 7-8 win season has you down in the dumps...you're delusional. I've *loved* UK football for decades...if this is a down year I'll live with it. Much of the angst is due to ewe tee having a great year...it sucks but whatevs.

Yup

I saw a post recently where someone talked about how 'well always be a 8 win type team.....that occasionally gets 10 wins" 🤯

I distinctly remember 23 shades of awful football where I only wanted to see us 'compete' & hold down a solid 6 wins per year - and OCCASIONALLY push a bigger SEC team or surprise with an upset

10 wins sounded like ......"A Flying Car that also time travels"
Just never seemed possible

hell - I clutched the memory of the 1984 season where we were like 8-3 w/a bowl win -- as something I may never see again either

Everyone always talked about what type of coach UK needed and how we always needed a gimmick to win (Mumme ball? Cheating etc) --

How in the blue blazes could ANY of us have predicted Mr Stoops coming along and doing what he's done?

Not a great night for Pubs. Thought they might pick up a couple of Senate seats but this was a tough cycle for them. 2024 sets up much better. Can't believe Sloth won but Oz was a terrible candidate.

Hopefully they at least get the House.

Looking to be a nice golf afternoon. Why we do this.

Celebrity political candidates should just go away.

Political season over, someone said they were looking forward to getting back to the normal commercials, reversible mortgages, Depends undergarments and ED prescription ads.

Football weekend.

$2.04 billion Powerball.

ONE winning ticket. You know how many Pontiac Superdomes that lucky bastard can buy??

Yeah well, my Mom won Scott County School Board in a LANDSLIDE so it was a "good cycle" for the churren out there in Georgetown.

Honestly, couldn't give one care about the rest of it, except amend. 2 but that's not a convo I'm starting here.

* Former Bengal Domata Peko's Father-in-law owns the store that sold the winning Powerball ticket and gets a cool Million for the effort.

* Chief, have you reached out to that poor girl who ruined her life by making racial slurs yet? She looks like she could use a shoulder to cry on right now.

* My Dad (84) flipped his ATV and broke his ankle and got banged up pretty bad. He's in great shape for his age, but he needs to chill just a bit. His biggest worry is not being able to go to the gym for a while. "That's how you get old and die, when you stop getting after it. You gotta live." Good advice.

Almost as good as the advice he gave me when he dropped me off at EKU... "Hit the books, don't get arrested, don't get in any fights but if you do keep punching until they stop punching back, (attractive black girl jogs by wearing extremely short shorts)... and don't knock up any black girls."

He is terrible on crutches. Fell 4x, including once while I was there. My siblings and I have been taking turns staying with him at his house down in Crittenden in the middle of 80 acres. He refuses to come to any of our houses. Tough old bastard. Love him and hate seeing him get old.

* He finally helped me perfect his Air Force chipped beef gravy recipe (shit on a shingle) for biscuits & gravy. I like sausage gravy, but this is what he made every Sunday growing up and eating it brought back a lot of memories.

-Please note, I said sausage gravy. 80 and Rob please keep any "Willy Likes Sausage" jokes to yourselves. TIA.

* Going to a bourbon event this weekend to raise money for Diabeeetus research. Should be a good time for a good cause.

Also looking forward to seeing some of you at the Big Pope & Friends Black Tie event in about a month.

* Lost a coworker this week. He had battled a horrible rare form of dementia for a few years. Attacked his body and mind. He was a great man. He was heavily involved in the community and Chad's old HS. His wife asked me to make his funeral program cover and back. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

* On a more positive note, the political signs and ads will go away for a while. Imagine if we spent as much time and money on the actual issues as we did on the elections.

* Stoops has elevated this program so much. It's weird being disappointed in a 8-4 football season, but I certainly am. And that is with Vandy and UL not being guaranteed dubs anymore, either.

If this NIL nonsense doesn't get fixed/cleared up and we lose Stoops, we march on Mitch's probably sensibly humble house.

* As horrible as Scang has been, I'm not sure what plays work with this OL. Gotta hit the portal hard and get some game ready quality bigs.

I scream about the play calling every game, but then I watch the Van Hiles breakdowns and see that the plays are there but we don't make them. But scoring points is the bottom line and we suck at it.

* I love the looks of the basketball team. I hope we see CJ and Reeves together for good chunks of time. What a luxury it is to have great shooters like that and 2 playmakers in Wallace and Wheeler to go with Oscar & Co.

Some good players are going to be sitting, but that is a good problem to have.

* Go Big Blue! Take care of yourselves and each other, man. This thing doesn't go on forever.

The issue with NIL, and this falls on UKAA/KFund/Stoops, they're not soliciting endorsements... at all. However, they're still soliciting all other forms of fundraising and donations. I just don't think the issueis being nervous about getting in trouble. I think they're nervous about losing donors.

Not to toot our horn but we're solid donors, business owners, and spend a good amount on regional advertising. Yet, the only people that have approached us are WWH/Huber. Students are competing against more than other universities for this stuff. They're competing against JMI selling endorsements for coaches and other forms of media doing the same for their personalities. It's a disorganized mess. I'm assuming the two we know, Huber and Brady actively approached the students. They need organization and sales people in the worst way. A collective with fans is dumb, they shouldn't feel responsible to pony up money for players. Especially season ticket holders. They're doing their part already. Pull you donor list and find out how you can get them buying players. I just haven't seen anything that offers us a substantial benefit.
