Headed to Austin for my 4th trip in 3 months. I’ve met just as many A&M fans as UT fans on my trips. Most people I’ve met just aren’t from there and have no rooting interest at all. A lot of CA transplants. Weird town for sure.

Staying near campus this time, so maybe I’ll have a different vibe and take after this trip.

I think he's been a little better than an average SEC QB but that PFF rating seems high. The kid has enormous potential with that arm and running ability. Hopefully he gets the intricacies of being a high level QB down while he's in a Kentucky uniform.

You think to yourself, "the second half of the UK/Vandy game is as dull and ugly as football can get. It's rock bottom."

And then you turn on the Packers Seahawks game this afternoon.

Getting in to Sacramento State v Utah only to be pre-empted by breaking news.. .Washington Huskies fired their football coach. Whatev...

Going to be pretty unfair if they put Texas and Oklahoma in the west and move Bama/Auburn to the east?

A few thoughts

1) One goes to east and one to west and they are permanent game rival (they’ll never do it)

2) Pods

3) LSU, Ole Miss and MSU move to east and west gets Missouri, Texas and Oklahoma

I think they will go pods and then instead of 1 sec championship game, they can sell 2 semifinals and 1 final. The sec championship game alone (once espn picks it up) goes for $300+mm

Four pods of four teams. You play your three, plus two from each other pod per year, alternating the two, and alternating home and away. This way, every player who plays for at least 4 years will get at least one home and one away game against every other SEC team. Try to preserve the biggest rivalries within pods if possible. If a rivalry isn't preserved annually, you still get them biennially. Somehow scheduling got easier with the additions. I'm guessing it won't happen this way though.

Is it just me or has there been way more Eagle Rare on the shelf lately? Ain't complainin'. Just about the best thing you can buy for $28.

I typically make one dish for Thanksgiving and make sure I nail it. Haven't settled on one yet, but recipes are swirling in my head.

Usually the holidays sneak up on me, but this year, it's been full-on since Halloween. Tree's up, garlands, elves, nutcrackers, the whole lot. 4 y/o is way into it.

Had to stay overnight for a project last week in the middle of nowhere in Central KY and just booked the nearest Airbnb. I showed up and there was a distillery, mega-ampitheater, multiple very-well-renovated historic homes, a small man-made lake, trails. No expense was spared, either. Dant Crossing. Super nice.

I'm not sure there will be pods... but I'd imagine everyone will have 3 permanent opponents with 6 others rotating. 9 conference games so at a minimum you play everyone in the conference home and away every 4 years.

One of the greatest areas of this glorious state. God’s country.

(Unsolved murders notwithstanding)

Put the old SWC back together, bring in SMU, pair them with Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Edit: Then I'd tell them to get pumped.

I get people wanting to celebrate Christmas, especially with kids, but doesn’t it cheapen it some when you’re celebrating Christmas for 1/6 of the year? Just weird to me. We always did after thanksgiving til about a week into January. Can you imagine putting up Halloween decor September 1st? Happy New Year signs on November 1st? 4th of July on June 1st?

-columbus did not suck.

-air b and b was in a "transitional" neighborhood. Surprisingly awesome.

-interactive van Gogh experience was fantastic. Highly recommend. I don't even drink...but if one were inclined to get high on marijuana and or mushrooms they would enjoy themselves even more.

-lunch at north market "food court". Ate Somali food...it's basically Ethiopian. Others had Moroccan, Polish (pirogues are dangerous) and Japanese. There was a Nepali joint...next time.

^think Findlay Market with better restaurants. Grabbed two kinds of fresh ravioli(gorganzola/pear and jerk chicken) made for dinner one evening.

-franklin conservatory was super relaxing. Plants are great, gang.

-huge bookstore in German village. 30 some odd rooms. Nice chat with a young 20ish couple in the music section ...was able to edify them on how punk rock started n the USofA and how Carol Kaye invented funk bass.

-hit record store(hard promises-petty,guitars and cadillacs-yoakam, floating coffin-thee oh sees), smashed some fools in NBA jam at an arcade bar called 16 bit...and picked up an American made shirt at a hipster store.

-caught both games on the TV. Basketball: I love Oscar. Football: win is a win...but 3 points in a half at Candy is irritating. Stoops doing stoops stuff.

-What was that fancy desk chair you all (@HUBER) were posting about a few months ago? Finally seem to have the work plans for WFH and in office time and I'm ready to turn the dining room into a combo office/bourbon cabinet room.
Herman Miller Aeron. It's the TRUTH and has made my office chair time in the office so much more pain free. Highly recommend.

Doesn't Anth already have one?

Just spent 45 minutes in line at the county clerk, then someone came out and told us the system has been down all morning and they can't grift our tax money currently 🤬

1. So Carolina, FL, UGA, UK
2. Auburn, Bama, Tenn, Vandy
3. LSU, A&M, ole miss, miss st
4. Texas, Oklahoma, mizzou, Arkansas

Play all 3 from division every year, 2 from others every year. 9 conf games. Ensures a home and home every 4 years.

^Same folks dictating our public health guidelines in a pandemic. Don't worry, they got this.

-We hold court, and I'm confident we do, and what a season for UK Football. Those 4 weeks in Mizzou, USC, UF and LSU were some of the most fun times in my UK fandom. Certainly the best in game atmospheres. Getting to 10 wins twice in 3 season(let's not consider last season real) would be spectacular.

-I'm guessing they do 4 team pods. Makes more sense. 3 annual games and 5 rotating.

-Manicotti and Meatballs. Needed to do a test run on the meatballs before family Christmas to nail down my 5# increments. Came out about perfect. Few little minor tweeks should do the trick. First run at manicotti, nailed it. Finally got the shells down after about 4 or 5. Suckers were awesome.

-Only a month before we see a meaningful basketball game. Sweet.

-Seems like things are going swell over at 1600 Penn Ave. Lolz.

-Told her what chair to get. She don't be listening to me.

-Reed would have to be an idiot, and knowing his dad it's possible, to not go to UK with NIL in place. Dude will be making 7 figures playing college basketball at UK. What a life.
