* Was Saturday Keldon Johnson's best game of the year? Pretty sure it was Keldon Johnson's best game of the year. Not sure a UK player has played harder in a game this season.

* Keldon getting 17 boards prompted my favorite UK basketball trivia question: Who was the last Kentucky player to get 20 rebounds in a game?

* Talking about projected seeding is pointless but I still enjoy doing it. Jerry Palm moved Kentucky to the top line after the Tennessee loss and I'd imagine Lunardi and Schwab will as well once their new projections drop later today. Who are some teams outside of the top 2 lines that you'd rather see Kentucky avoid if they can help it? I like my team and I think we can beat anybody in the world right now, but a big, long, athletic team like Florida State is one that I hope loses before a potential matchup. Leonard has taken enough L's this season to remove the target from his team's back, which is always when they're at their most dangerous.

* PJ Washington currently with the 5th highest single season 3PT% in Kentucky history, just like we all predicted in October.

* Pretty sure Jussie Smollett feels the way he does about white people because of the bullying he received as a part of the Oreo Line in District 5 Pee Wee hockey. Can you blame him? I can't.

* Who's the most disappointing team in the country this year? I've seen takes putting Auburn on that list, but things could be a lot worse for them the way they live and die by the three. For me it's either Indiana, Texas or UCLA. At least Auburn's getting in this year, barring a huge collapse.

* Got the green light from Dad: They better hurry up and beat us.

-Texas must be having internal issues if they're suspending the best player in February. Kansas is on the watch list. IU is the big one, they had one of the best non-conference resumes in the country and dropped 12 of 13 in conference.

-Still a bit in shock from that game Saturday. I was honestly a little worried about how we'd respond to losing a leader like Travis to a dangerous team. That's a sign of a team on a mission. Couldn't find enough articles and comments on the intrawebs to satisfy my postgame thirst.

-If Louisville is the mission, and a strong argument can be made it should be, then we may be better dropping a game and sliding to a 2. 1 and 2 are essentially the same thing from a seeding preference. Columbus -> KC -> Minny from a weather standpoint blows.

-Completely agree on Johnson, shot wasn't falling so the dude goes and grabs every board he can find. Was the MKG-lite we expected.

-The big story was Hagans getting shit right against a great PG.

-Could barely contain myself during the Hagans-Quickley-Herro-Johnson lineup. Short lived.

-Really liked How to Train your Dragon. Good ending to an underrated series.

-Last Chance U coach resigning for inappropriate Hitler joke directed at German Player. That was fairly predictable.

-Opening day at Kentucky Proud tomorrow [cheers]

Speaking of which, would anyone like my 2 tix for that game? Can't make a 4:00 first pitch, and don't want to see them unused in the opening game of the new stadium. Free, obviously...just want to see them used.

Section 106 (behind home plate), row 11...should be good seats. I can send them via e-mail.

Scott Charlton's role in UK athletics is quietly one of the most important, from a fan's perspective. Thankful for him.

A rare Friday 5 on a Monday but the shuffle was feeling it this morning:
Cell Therapy- Goodie Mob
Still make Cheyenne- Strait
Lately- Jodeci
Freshman- Verve Pipe
Devil Inside- INXS

12 years old for my pup today. Don't think he would complain about his life one bit.

Baseball team's relief pitching is a disaster. They should've won 2/3 at Texas Tech, and drop all 3. Get much better in a hurry or they will be near the bottom of the SEC. Have to think making the SEC Tournament is their ceiling- but they are a long way from that right now.

Have not seen the Bradley Cooper movie- but since he also sings and plays guitar on the soundtrack- eff that guy for being that talented.

Oh whats this? Another win for the IRON? Over arch-nemesis Atlanta Legends no doubt. #ForgeOn

Neighbor at the rental house flagged me down yesterday and returned a weed trimmer that he borrowed back in 2013 when i lived there. Also let me know that it didn't work anymore.

What's the rule on keeping/deleting R. Kelly bangers from the music library?

- Isn’t it Rondo actually?

- Kansas has to be the most disappointing- preseason #1in a fairly loaded year up top.

- Getting to the “I fear no one” attitude.

If you’ve waited this long to determine that R Kelly is a sexual deviant, that’s really your own damn fault.

Wife made me watch a star is born yesterday - Dave Chapelle is in it - made me immediately depressed how old he looks now.

I thought it was Rondo as well... then I checked and found that he had 19 boards in a game against Iowa. One of the strangest stat lines I've seen.

Loved the scene at the end of Season 3 with Coach Brown basking in his accolades and coaching acumen in the hot tub burning a fat stogie....

Then notched a 2-8 record in his second season at the helm of ICC....[laughing]

That Stock Advice thread is something else, man.

DaytonKat says we could be in for a 5% drop, but go ahead and stay in the market now while it’s still in an upswing, and you’ll know the market is actually correcting when it actually declines. But also, it may not actually happen.

Good, good stuff.

This will be an issue:

Donnelly read the conversation this way:
“Would you want Balsa?” Dawkins asked.
“Oh, the big kid?” Wade responded.
Dawkins confirmed.
“OK, but there is other [expletive] involved in it,” Wade said. “Wait, I’ve got to shut the door … I can get you what you need, but it’s got to work.”

Seems like people are thinking UL/KU/Zona might get off easy just because the NCAA is staying patient until they have all the documents doesn't mean they're not going to act. I think it means the opposite. They finally have actual evidence in one of these deals and we just saw them smoke Mizzou over something way less. Not to mention KU trying to play hardball and force DeSousa back resulted in him being banned for 2 years, effectively ending his career. The coaches and universities they have hard evidence on are going to get walloped. I'm also thinking a few of these places are going to attempt the UNC "fight it" approach, I know UL will probably have to, and I don't see that helping them get any favors.

LSU probably isnt going to be too up in arms with how this shakes out... they already got their lotto pick and win over UK at Rupp.

The big thing for me and only justification in all of this is UL getting hammered and the university closing. That is the only outcome that makes any sense.

Indiana lost again on Saturday. Have we covered this in GYERO yet? I couldn't remember.

That's 12 of 13. But, good news, they can get right against #19 Wisconsin and #6 Michigan State this week. Good luck!!

The one reason I am alright with UofL being decent this year is their fan base getting false hope that the worst is behind them only to get hammered with a second round of sanctions. The NCAA better not let me down, not above pulling a Cartman and going around the city licking up all their tears.

Anyone know how this upcoming trial will differ from the one last October? Different defendants, or what? If it's the same subject matter, it seems strange it wasn't all covered in one trial.

The Yahoo article didn't address it, that I saw. TIA.

What? You doubting the guy that lives in Dayton that knows “several” good acquaintances that made 9 figures from nothing?

The big difference is Dawkins was the one actually coordinating the deals and he doesn't intend on taking a plea deal. If they get Miller or Wade on a stand under oath, could be epic. That would be the big difference.

Has it even been determined that UL is getting a second round of NCAA sanctions? If the death penalty deliberations take longer than 5 minutes, that's ridiculous.

On probation for giving underage hookers to underage recruits in the university dorm, right? Yup. Then got caught on tape for paying cash for a player while still on hooker probation, right? Yup.

Let's make sure we don't do anything rash here.

Yes I get that (o_OI'm not a legal simpleton), but was wondering if this a different indictment than the October trial. Found the answer:

James Gatto and Merl Code Jr., the two former Adidas employees, and the agent, Christian Dawkins, were found guilty on wire fraud charges in a trial that lasted three weeks. Sentencing begins in March, and each is expected to spend several years in prison. Even more significant rulings will come later, when four coaches who were arrested a year ago in connection with the case will go to court, said John R. Thelin, professor of history of higher education and public policy at the University of Kentucky (and an occasional columnist for Inside Higher Ed). This will have implications for other coaches, athletics directors and university presidents.
