Tiger will be playing on Champions tour. When asked about walking now he said he’ll have a buggy in 3 years.

Thoughts on fitted clubs?

I am not getting younger, play Titleist AP1 irons, Tru Temper XP reg steel shafts, 90g which are fairly light weight and which I honestly really like a lot. But also thinking pretty seriously of upgrading to Titleist T300 with graphite shafts, Tensei red, regular, which have the highest ball flight.

Now, here is the issue, I can get a 6-GW on Ebay for $600 with the specs above. Or I can go get new clubs, professionally fitted, for about $1000. I have done this once or twice before, once with a driver (ended up changing my shaft) and once with irons (ended up 1 deg flat) but honestly did not see any appreciable value in the fitted route.

My thought is to take the extra $400 or so and spend on lessons, or other good cause.

So, am I wrong or right?

Follow up: Talked to my pro I take lessons from, she told me not to buy graphite irons for now, she says I still have sufficient swing speed, and that graphite would only add a little distance, with a slight loss of accuracy. But she does recommend club fitting (of course, where she works sells clubs and does fittings), so we decided to check my lie angle on my clubs next time we get together, I suspect mine need to be flatter, given that I am not a tall guy, tend to pull my solid iron shots, which is also an indication that clubs are too upright.

So, she saved me $1000 the way I looked at it by giving me an honest opinion.

Id say Tiger will skip PGA and try to play the US Open and British Open.

No reason to play at all. His cameo appearances are nothing more than a sideshow. Thankfully, his WD Sunday was a blessing, because you know they would have shown some great shot he pulled out of a hat, and then his final putt on 18....instead, they were able to focus 100% on Rahm/Koepka.

Tourney may happen...but he has a long way to go. Much longer than what people thought given the type of shots that are popping up the last couple of weeks. His "A" game now isn't going to compete...he needs that plus a lot of luck.

Major...not going to happen...in the PTI camp now on this based on what I am seeing. He is likely to embarrass himself at Augusta and that will be tough to watch.

He wouldn't even get his card at Q school if he had to.
You been saying shit like this for 6 years and been wrong. Which is par for the course with you on here.

Give it up...he turned into a 2 bit circus act thanks to his own decisions. Time to hang it up and ride off w/ what's left of his legacy.

The swing is still there but I cant see him being able to play at a high level for 4 straight days of walking and playing. Folks seem to forget he is also 47 years old but his body is probably closer to a 70 year old. Only reason he can still play like he does is because of his conditioning, strong mindset and elite mechanics. Anyone without the resources he has available to him would probably have never have played on tour again.

He has no business attempting to play a US open anymore.

Unless maybe it’s at pebble or something..
Maybe you are correct but its in Los Angeles and hes already scouted it out in February, so i expect him to play there and Hoylake.

I used to play with this guy (6-8 handicap so pretty good), he was kind of annoying, but.... he was gifted at finding golf balls. He could walk into the woods, and 2min later it was like Christmas on Oprah , here's some Pro V1's for you, here's some Callaway's for you, and so on. You almost couldn't lose your ball when playing with him.

,,,instead, they were able to focus 100% on Rahm/Koepka.
They were able to focus 100% on Rahm/Koepka standing there waiting to play while Cantlay did his Tiger shuffle handicapped walk all over the fairway.

The footage of Tiger at Augusta needs to convince Tiger it is over. He's a ceremonial distraction to the point of being insulting to the other players. Next Tiger will be rolled around on a surgical table while he uses his non-IV arm to knock the ball forward a couple yards so they can make the cutline +60 to get him in.

Where's Rory's dumb a$$? Rahm had all the reason in the world to pull out but bit*h Rory pulled out, instead, even though he already used up his "take your ball and go home" card already.

He's probably back in Ireland yucking it up with Sleepy Joe or maybe sticking pins in his Greg Norman voodoo doll.

Rahm had all the reason in the world to pull out

No, he didn't. No more than anyone else who fought just as hard as he did. New week, new tournament....they ALL have to focus on the issue at hand. Do NBA/MLB/NHL players sit out the next night after a hard fought playoff game?

Young 18 yo kid has to make a free throw with 10,000 maniacs waving tubes and everything else right in his line of sight in the final seconds of a win or go home tournament elimination game.

40 yo man ready to hit a golf ball backs off in furious contempt because somebody coughed 200 yards away.

If Danny can overcome "noonan", then a tour player can...

Cant stand the guy during Ryder Cup play but is a very likable player on tour. I get the schedules these guys are on are demanding but when you commit to an event you need to stick to it unless something unforeseen (injury, family situation, etc) comes up. Its disrespectful to the sponsors and fans who all plan for these events and spend a lot of money that lines these guys pockets for them to withdraw for no other reason than they are tired or butt hurt that they are not playing well.

These guys set their schedules for the most part at the start of the season. They know what they will need to do to prep for the majors and meet the new requirements of the tour's high end events.

Sure, things come up, but I don't fall for the fatigue factor as one of them....we all have days where work is a burden, and I know their travel can wear on them as well, and their minds aren't 100% on the event at hand.

This is what makes Tiger's # of wins so extraordinary....he went into every event to win, and overcame a lot of distractions to do so.

The NBA is enacting a min # of games for players if they want to win awards, for example. Fans are getting fed up w/ paying high prices and that is the night a Lebron or Steph takes a rest day.

This is their career they signed up for when they got their card. A lot goes with it, especially for the high profile players.

Reminds me of the time some friends and I went to Cincinnati decades ago for pro tennis tournament. John McEnroe got pissy when one of my buds was talking during his serve. We were 30 rows up in the stands. I’ll remind him of that when we play golf tomorrow. 😀😀😀

Maybe the guy is burnt out. He has been working more than anyone to keep the tour functioning and trying to play at a high level. I'm sure he is mentally and physically drained. Throw in poor Masters performance and it is all catching up to him. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, all those text messages with Tiger, Justin, and Freddy Couples on how they were going to save the PGA from LIV wore poor 'Rawry out. His nostrils just couldn't flare outwards far enough anymore to keep him oxygenated.

Is this the same Rory that said publicly that his fellow mates needed to suck it up and attend the mandatory events even if tired?

He’s already missed two of them, it’s only April and he’s the last guy that should be the front man of a floundering tour.

Won't be watching but hope Jimmy Walker wins. 44 years old, ranked # 406 never won on tour and almost quit last year because of Lyme disease.

That's why I'd like to see the Masters give more guys a shot instead of all these has-beens that have no shot. I'd love to one day see my boy Harry Higgs get another shot. He tied for 14th in 2022 barely missing the automatic invite.

What’s the one course that doesn’t get much publicity or credit, but it’s just a course you love to play, and why?

Mine is Shady Hollow, between Elizabethtown and Bowling Green. Near Mammoth Cave and Nolin Lake. Lots of character, cheap, very unique layout, not long but trouble lurks. A very short par 4 that has a large risk/reward depending on where your tee or approach lands, island green, and immaculate greens.

I want to know more hidden gems!

Floundering? I’ve already blocked LOL. You meat monkeys for the LIV tour occasionally have a decent point, which you did in the first point, but lose credibility in the second with your cheerleading or cheering against.

Boring tour. LIV is no better, but nice try. Sorry Rory is not who you want him to be.
