Played Cherry Blossom once or twice and thought it sucked, would not go back

Gibson Bay is a gem. Love driving down a few times a year. I’ve never waited BUT I play early
My daughter shot her worst round of a tournament at Gibson Bay last year. She struggled to keep it out of that long rough and then get out when she did which made for a long day. I just wanted to yell from the side and say "Just chip it back into the fairway" but didn't want to embarrass her and get her tossed from the tournament. 😂

Think it was Nicklaus who said when you hit a ball into trouble, rule number one is make sure your next shot is not in trouble

Yeah and she definitely didn't do that. The courses we normally play don't have rough that thick and she thought she could hit out of it and advance the ball like normal. She would hit shot after shot that would just trickle down toward the green a few yards at a time but still be in the rough. So one bad shot would turn into several bad shots. She had a 12 or 13 on a par 5 and she hadn't done that since 5th or 6th grade. After the tournament I told her to make sure if she is in thick rough to just get back into the fairway even if that means hitting a wedge that only advances a few yards. She did better the next course we played that had long thick rough so at least it was a learning experience for her.

Agree. Paid $35 on a weekday afternoon last year. Not difficult until you try to reach those greens. Small, elevated, sometimes both.

There used to be a pretty good deal for membership to all state parks but I don't know if that is still a thing or not. Seems like it was around $1,000 for an individual with unlimited play and another $1,000 if you wanted to include a cart. That isn't terrible for unlimited play at all state park courses.

That's a reasonable take by Jack.

When you look at the reaction to LIV you see a lot of overreaction and you have to ask yourself what is the nature of those reactions and a lot of the time it looks like jealousy due to its spitefulness.

Wasn't any of that in Jack's take.

The double box can go straight to hell. I don’t need to watch someone lining their putt up, get it together NBC.

Heck of a tournament yesterday, nothing to rival the excitement of the team event at the LIV, the Blasters versus the Double Eagles, clearly that was one of the all time great sporting events ever of course, but still a 5 way tie on the back 9 with some of the biggest names in golf at the Arnold Palmer was a pretty compelling tournament

How about Bryson's ex-caddie for the win? He was pretty cool with him on 18.
Kitiyama made a a good shot under pressure.
Wish I could lag putt like that.
Heard he was the 1st winner In 3 years to have a triple bogey in the final round

That is crazy until you see that Hovland is a worse bunker player than I am, Speith couldn't putt, and Rory just Rory'd it.

What I think when Spieth putts from 50ft: He's going to make it.

What I think when Spieth putts from 4ft: He's going to miss it.

Not really. He is a host. He's no worse than Nantz. The overall tv coverage, non-stop commercials, have been horrible.
Love the ESPN+ coverage. Pretty much no-frills, choose your viewing option.

Kitiyama had that look like all of us do when the pressure mounts but he did an excellent job recovering from that Triple Bogey. He deserved to win the tournament more than the stars like Rory who almost back doored in for the win. The tour certainly needs its stars to win tournaments but I think most golf fans want to see those journeyman types come out of nowhere once in a while to win a big tournament.

You can appreciate his play but he never learned some important life skills, which never made him likeable to me. Some due to his upbringing, you can see from his dad and mom that they treated him differently, some due to his own make-up.

He's clearly a POS human. I couldn't care less that he swings a golf club better than anyone ever. How many chances are we going to give this guy?
