Not a fan of women’s sports in general. But genuinely enjoy women’s golf. The rhythm and tempo of some of their golf swings is something we could all learn from.

Lexi should have chipped to make instead of just get close. She was not aggressive and she failed. same thing happened to the King at the same club. 7 shot lead with 9 holes to play. If it can happen to Arnold Palmer it can happen to anyone.

The one she putted from way off the green? She was afraid of that tight lie.

She had chunked one earlier and she was definitely shook. Just look at her approach on 18. Short and in the bunker. Possibly the worst spot to leave it.

Her mistakes from the rough really was the cost. Twice she tried to muscle balls out of there and they only went 40 yrds. She's got to take a lofted club there and advance 80. Don't know if the caddy was to blame or not.

I watched the final round of the Open LPGA, really pulling for LT, but she just fell apart on the back nine, could not put a ball in the fairway to save her life and the rough just ate her up.

Still, all she had to do was par a 441 yard par 5 and a 318 yard par 4, and she wins, and she finishes bogey-bogey. Sheesh . . . just hard to watch.

I wonder when the next year we will actually see a woman from the US win the US Open? Five years now and counting.

Lexi didn't make normal mistakes, if there is such a thing. She had a meltdown and was literally scared to take the next shot. This was brutal to watch for someone of her caliber. She questioned everything, couldn't pull the trigger, etc. There were signs of tears the last 2 holes.

Todays women's golf is on a totally different planet than most other women's sports. Try playing with them and see what you think. I have (played in a few pro-ams) and they are damn good. Now, you got women hitting the ball 300+. I would kill to have the swing tempo many of them have.

It's not like watching the WNBA which is like watching paint dry. The main issue women's golf has (at least in the US) is that many of the best players are Korean and nobody here knows who they are. Its hard to market them in the states but back home they are all superstars.

They made that point on the telecast yesterday, when asked if Lexie T was the most famous golfer on the LPGA, the British commentator said, "well, maybe in America, in Asia and elsewhere, not so much", or words to that effect. In short, US women are just not highly regarded world wide, for obvious reasons.

To me, the Solheim Cup is sort of meh, because it is largely the second tier pros playing each other, a Korean or Chinese team would win in a stroll over both teams put together.

It is really surprising that the top Asian players are not profiled more here in the US, given how well the tour is doing. Hell, even the top ranked player from the US at this time couldn't be picked out a lineup...Danielle Kang.

While the female golfer is obviously more athletic then they have ever been it goes without saying some of those gains in distance also have to do with equipment. If you gave them the same ball and clubs that players had in generations past they wouldn't be hitting those 300 yard drives. The same goes with the men's side. While players today would still hit old equipment further they wouldn't be hitting 360-380 yard drives. The science and technology behind golf balls and clubs has, to quote the old Virginia Slims ad, Come a long way baby!

I'm sorry but from 110 out I hit that green on 18 8 out of 10 times and I am an 11 handy. Lexi absolutely gagged all over that back nine.
She's a nice kid but I don't see her winning something big anytime soon. I hope I am wrong but this might stay with her for a while.

It was a very difficult birdie, with the front pin position, but every player was parring it, nearly, was not a hard shot at all, to make par anyway.

In 2014, when LT won the ANA Inspiration and Wie won the Open , I would have bet a lot of money that both would win one, if not several majors. But nada since then. Such is golf and life.

When you're a man and your first name is "Angel" you have to fight a lot.

Matter of fact it is a little known trivia that Johnny Cash's smash hit was originally named "A Boy Named Angel."

The Olympic Club is another course on WGT. Only reason why I watched the women’s this past weekend.

The spectators and stands always throw me off to what I’m used to seeing.

That might be more Lexi Thompson talk than I’ve ever heard and certainly more than I ever want to hear again.

This Bryson-Brooks thing def has a Logan Paul fight esque build to it.

Seems forced

I went to the range today and noticed a small crack in the hosel of my 5 iron. What does everyone think? I feel like it’s ok and I’m being stupid to be worried and ask but I’m a little paranoid lol. I’m left handed so it’s not the easiest for me to replace the head if I had to.

Clearly those small superficial imperfections are why you are slicing it 50 yards offline into the water.

It’s more than just a scratch or ding. It’s a small crack close enough to the face it could potentially make a difference. I’ll be able to test it out this week so hoping it doesn’t make a difference.

Hadley loses all of a 4 shot lead in his first 3 holes at Congaree... on the easiest holes on the entire course.

Yeah. That head probably needs to be replaced.

fellow leftie?

That’s what I’m thinking. I hit a couple more on the range after I noticed it. Didn’t feel too differently but it was pretty much impossible to gauge the distance at the range. I looked around on eBay and couldn’t find that iron head on there.

Just curious if anyone has ever tried the Rypstick or Super Speed swing training aids? I have been thinking about buying one of them and I am leaning toward the Rypstick.

Rypstick

Very cool being able to follow the state am live scoring. The Butler kid is impressive.

Nice showing from my club's champ sitting at -3.

The dude who fired a nice 94-73 really puts tournament golf into perspective.

US Open on the second monitor, love this week.
