If so, why (e.g., the NBA draft, negotiating with his current team, etc.)? Will those who declare for the draft and then withdraw enter late, or do most now usually enter the portal and the draft at basically the same time? Are you afraid UK will miss out on an All-American/AA Honorable mention type by filling up their spots too quickly?

Most will be in and signed before April 7th due to changes in NIL that are suppose to go into effect then.
So this week should be a busy one.

The only late comers will be the kids that entered their names into the NBA Draft AND the transfer portal. With 15 available scholarships next season, I could see some coaches leaving spots open for those types of players.
Coach Pope will also be looking at the overseas players that could be interested in playing college basketball.

I would think the majority will enter this week to try to beat the April 7th ruling.
I'm still waiting for some of my favorite PF options to enter the portal. For example, I don't think Yaxel Lendeborg, Rasheer Fleming or JT Toppin have entered the portal. I understand that those guys will explore the NBA draft, but if they're not guaranteed 1st rounders will they enter the portal; and if so, when? Just questions I have, not necessarily expecting you to have the answer, catben.
Others I like who have entered the portal include Alvaro Folgueiras, Reed Bailey and Jamichael Stillwell. But seems I've only heard UK's name thrown around some with Folgueiras and Bailey. Paulius Murauskas is another PF option I like, but haven't read anything regarding him.

What exactly is the change to NIL coming? Just a cap on how much players can earn or how much teams can spend?
I hope a lot more stars enter because honestly looking at the top 100 I don’t see very many sure fire guys that I’m like yeah we will definitely contend with them. There are like 20-30 guys max I’m seeing. I’m sure there are many diamonds in there somewhere but none that I feel great about. Then again I’m not paid to find them either.
Any NIL deal over $600 has to go before a clear house to determine if it is within clear market value... How that's determined... I'm sure they will look at other instance across all other sports. What endorsements are worth for, let's a say a gold medal winner and so forth... NIL was never ment to be pay for play, even though that's what it turned into... I'm sure there will be more lawsuits... And we will see what happens, When the first teams say we don't care.... And how federal, state law falls in, and what kind of teeth the NCAA has. But we might be seeing the end of collective... And NIL might settle down to its original intentions.
You never know when the coaching dominos are going to fall and guys become available. As for the April 7th deal they have to be signed or committed by then or just in the portal? The draft portal guys is where you’re gonna find strong talent. With all the smoke about so many guys though we likely have most locked up or down to a school or two.
I think we will see some for sure. Coaching changes, possibly portal moves that make other players enter the portal also. And then things like, say a high profile team is now without a Center.. all the sudden that sparks some interest from guys who might see that as an opportunity. Which I guess begs the question, when is the deadline for all of this?
