And now, with the draft deadline less than a week away, it feels as though UK is counting on the return of two-time All-American and former national player of the year Oscar Tshiebwe and SEC Co-Sixth Man of the Year Antonio Reeves, neither of which are safe assumptions. What is safe to assume is that All-SEC Freshman Chris Livingston, who also declared for the draft, won't be back.

Kentucky's offseason drought has led 247Sports national recruiting analyst Travis Branham to list UK as one of the "losers" in the transfer portal this cycle.

"They do have the No. 1 recruiting class in 2023 incoming but this is a team that has been at the mercy of Oscar Tshiebwe and Antonio Reeves. There is so much riding on these two and they have not landed a single transfer as of yet. Even if one of those guys opts to go to the draft and not return, that's an extremely big hit to the Kentucky program, especially this late into the portal," Branham said. "There's not many more that we're anticipating to go in there. Will still be a couple, but not many that can move the needle and they will be in line trying to advocate to get these kids on campus. As of today, there's only seven scholarship players for the 2023-24 season for Kentucky and that can really be a big, big miss if Antonio Reeves and Oscar Tshiebwe opt to stay in the draft."

Another wave of grad transfers are expected to hit the portal prior to the draft deadline on May 31.

"That's a problem," 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein said. "Seven scholarship players, not necessarily going to get it done but if history has taught us anything, it's don't count out John Calipari's ability to get creative adding to the roster late."

Pay me 1 million a year and I can be more creative with the roster than cal. And I would win. So would half this board

You would have to get creative because most kids are coming to play for a message board poster. With the lack of talent you would likely have because of that you would almost certainly not win.

No they would be playing for the university of Kentucky. The program alone would land any of us enough talent to be very competitive. And you have no idea who would be on my staff. See you nailed the problem. Cal is about cal. No one comes to uk to play for uk anymore they play for cal. 1 year. Cal has a staff that’s so incompetent and afraid that it elevates cal. It keeps some young riser from overshadowing him. He has been doing this the entire time at Kentucky.

Do we have the John Fetterman of coaches leading this program now?
Nah. Fetterman has certified brain damage. The people of Pennsylvania elected someone with actual brain damage. Think about that for a minute. Cal is just complacent, stubborn, lazy and old. Big difference.

Well, considering we have no one from the portal as yet, we can’t exactly be considered a winner.
Branham gets today’s Mr. Obvious award.
Exactly. We lost Collins, Ware, and Wheeler to the portal and got no one in return. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see we've shat the bed.

What bear? The bear that’s been 2-6 in its last 8 post season games?
Maybe this type of Bear?

I mean the article should be written after the off-season moves have been completed. But sure, obviously Kentucky is in this category right now. It’s premature. And it still might be accurate when it’s all said and done. But why not wait till early or mid June to write that .
