Or as John Mellencamp said (lyrics slightly modified):As Carole King said:
"It's too late, baby, now it's too late.
Something inside has died and you can't hide and you just can't fake it."
Final Four Banner coming down. 22 wins forfeited.
Not being a rules expert I ask is there really any harm in playing a kid in an exhibition game? If he is later ruled eligible no problem for sure,if he is ruled ineligible and hasn't played in a regular season game then you lose an exhibition game(they don't count anyway)
This seems to bring last years games into question,it could also mean that KU is waiting on the outcome of the trial,a guilty verdict means they might be in the clear and a not guilty or hung jury gives them a problem
It is interesting that Zion has already played,Duke and K are so arrogant it boggles the mind.I am ashamed to say that I would find enjoyment in anything of a negative nature that happened to Duke basketball.
Lol. A college senior in December goes into a New York jewelry store that's known for selling expensive bling to high-paid pro athletes accepts $13,000 down on $90,000 worth of jewelry with a promissory note to pay the rest later (assuming a pro contract). Said student-athlete fails to pay off loan and is taken to court by the jeweler. Same student-athlete then proceeds to help his team to a national championship. The trial has testimony that corroborates what happened. Case is settled, closed. NCAA asks Duke about it. They say "we know nothing". Player is now in the NBA so the NCAA decides nothing to see or do here, just move on.Technically he only paid $30k. That was the problem as he didn’t pay the rest until a lot later. How many NCAA athletes are driving cars worth $30k-$50k? We going to investigate them all?
You are correct...signed Enis KanterI am a bit surprised. It is the right thing to do. I doubt any other programs will follow suit.
That's right............That was pretty damn good BBUK,you're an OakYeah, but duke doted on the Frowner...

Now do you see the idiocy of believing there's nothing there? At the very least, Thomas should have been ruled ineligible due to impermissible benefits (the loan) not to mention where the hell he got the cash and all games subsequently played should have been vacated.
It's selective enforcement, plain and simple. So get off your high horse. You cheat.

A good sized deck chair but you have a really good point. Some other KU player will do some crazy crap before New Year's. so there is that to look forward toThe problem is he is the only one sitting, when who knows how many others on that team were bought? Like taking a deck chair off the Titanic.

Don't be obtuse...everyone knows the Bagley's didn't buy their mansion w/ their own means. What violations did Duke have the past two years?

fifyYou know they didn’t buy that house right? They were just renters with money they were paid by Nike to attend Duke.
THAT'S your argument? Man, do you even hear yourself? Your response is the very definition of delusional, deflection when faced with an obvious case of cheating (but not getting caught). WHERE the hell did a college senior get $90,000?? And don't give me that it was family money. That dog won't hunt. Your team, your school, your coach all cheated, got away with it, and have a tainted banner for it.The purchase was made in December 2009. The remaining balance was supposed to be paid within 15 days. So your statement “assuming pro contract” doesn’t make sense. Even if he went pro it wouldn’t happen over the next 15 days, not to mention Thomas had very low pro prospects at the time. He played his first pro season in the D-league making next to nothing.

It really becomes interesting now,KU admits/says that it has talked with the NCAA about the trial. In your opinion does that mean the NCAA response or course of action will be influenced by the outcome?Pat FordeVerified account@YahooForde

Inevitable. Do any coaches join him on the suspended list?

We’re not there yet. The NCAA will address the Kansas situation in time. And, when it does, I can’t think of any reason why Kansas won’t be required to vacate its 2018 Final Four appearance.
Most of his posts may have to start ,Once upon a time, from this point forward. Why?
Leave him alone, he's huddled in that impossible corner babbling to himself.@Nooneputsbabyinacorner thoughts?
It’s definitely a loop hole but it’s not a violation. Nike, Under Armor, Adidas all sponsor AAU teams. And there are not rules/caps or anything on how they can pay/support those programs.
The NCAA didn’t just ignore verything because it’s Duke, they ignored it because they don’t have any rules preventing it.
It’s absolutely shady and should be addressed but it’s not illegal or an NCAA violation.
It’s kind of amazing what’s going on in the FBI investigation because all this could have been avoided if the parents and shoe companies were just smarter about it and developed AAU programs to feed money to the families.
Kansas is now official Hold Out University. duke still remains, screw you and your NCAA rules university we are duke.
I KNEW you were a member of this board Mr. Bilas!!
Come on Jay, admit that you are nothing more than an ACC excuse maker. Everyone knows that if the things that have gone on at Duke and UNC lately were to happen at ANY other school, they would get HAMMERED by the NCAA!!
Your last paragraph speaks volumes that the ESPN folks are afraid or prevented from saying.I KNEW you were a member of this board Mr. Bilas!!

Exactly something Jay would say!!!I wish I was paid as much as Bilas is to have bad takes.
Dang. I’m not a huge Parrish fan but I’m glad to see him call this one like it should be called.Gary ParrishVerified account@GaryParrishCBS
