D-League

It's going to take me a while to figure out who is who on this UK team. They look good but seem to rely on the 3-pointers too much. BUT, it appears most of the team can hit the 3s.
True, we sure shoot a lot of 3's. But Carr has been almost entirely an inside player, Williams as well. I hope Garrison has learned to not shoot the 3 by now. And....Oweh is unstoppable driving to the basket. Butler not bad at that too. Oweh is going to be my favorite player.

Supposed to help lower blood pressure because of the potassium levels in it. Been working on trying to get mine down naturally because of the side effects of Metropolol and Lisinipril. Had one (Metropolol) prescribed by my family doctor and the other (Lisinopril) by a heart doctor. Did not like either because of side effects. However, was using Lisinipril when I was running out and called for a renewal from my heart doctor's office 3 times and in each case, they said a nurse would call me back and let me know when it was sent to my pharmacy. Never received the call either time and have not taken any for about 3 weeks now.

Blood pressure in now averaging a little above 140/85. I will take that number and work on natural ways to lower it. Have an appointment with the heart doctor in mid-November but might just say screw it if I get the blood pressure down a bit.

I've recommended the following for a bunch of people I know and it has helped everyone so far. Raw, low sodium beets. They have directly worked wonders for several people with serious HBP. Fresh or canned. Best by themselves but still work in a shake or smoothie. They also sold them for a while in squeeze packs at Costco or Sam's Club.

An acquaintance of mine told me about them many years ago after he had heard about them from an older woman. Saved two of his friends from bed rest and hospitalization respectively.

I can't stand the taste, but have eaten them when I've had hypertension issues and they've really helped me as well. Please let me know if they work to help you. Always good to get some positive feedback. Prayers being said that they help for you as well.

Good morning folks.

Cold and clear in the east.

Only saw part of the Cats game. I’m not sure we know much yet. This style of play works great against lesser talent but will it work against athletic defenders who can harass out on the perimeter? And can the Cats guard athletic SEC players?

Busy day for me. Hope you guys have a good day. And, oh yeah, don’t let anybody, even a president with dementia, tell you that you are garbage.

I believe I'm going to enjoy this year's team. We may not be the most talented team in the country, but I think it will be a fun team to watch. Our experience should be a big factor as well.

We're not getting as many pics this year as we normally do but a big bear shows up at the house every couple of weeks. I haven't seen him in person yet this year. But he's moving around more during the day so probably just a matter of time now.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Garrison showed a movement towards inside play last night imo.

Yeah, I have read up on beets as another way to help lower BP. I actually like beets so I will probably add them to my diet. Other items like Hibiscus tea, Broccoli, watermelon, and other foods (only so much you can eat) are high in potassium and that seems to be high on the list of controlling BP. I have come to the realization that my doctors are just happy with controlling it with drugs which I am dead set against so, I will continue to figure out better ways until I can't. If I can keep the average in a range of 130-140/80's I will be good with that. Last few days have been in that range except for last night. 151/91. This morning however was 137/82 so, I'll take it.

Yep. I have a few things wrong with me. The meds for one thing has a negative impact on something else. Foods to, to a lesser degree.

Good morning folks.

Happy Halloween. 🎃

Dodgers accepted the Yankees’ gifts last night and the Series. Always better to see an NL champ I suppose, though I am the farthest thing from a Dodgers fan. Reds in 2025 - the 50th anniversary of the first of two championships for the Big Red Machine.

Last day downtown this week. I hope it is a good one for all of you.

Morning Legionnaires!

It is Halloween (of course you know). Watched that last night ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ have since I can remember. Tradition. I watched the others for Thanksgiving and Christmas as well.

Was supposed to have rain last night (have not had any in almost 3 months or so), but it did not happen. Need it. Another chance again this weekend. We have a burn ban in place until that happens.

Have nothing more so, you folks enjoy your day, be safe, and God Bless.

Not really a Yankee fan but didn't want the Dodgers to win. The Cards are #2 in WS championships, and the Dodgers are #3. The way the Dodgers spend $, they will probably eventually catch the Cards.

Nice around here in Northern Virginia. This is the first Halloween My Darling and I are sitting home... quietly, though the BB will be staying the night as his Mom has to work tomorrow. I am off so looking forward to it. We have a good time together. Such a joy to be around... (The BB, not so much me though...) ;)

Actually popped the top on a Yuengling... been a while and I have a decent stash....

Have a peaceful evening...

Good morning everyone

We live on a back road with a 300' steep driveway and we're the last house on this road so we don't get many/any trick or treaters. The last several years we participate in the Trunk or Treats with our churches. Last night was perfect weather here in SE KY and we had about 750 kids.

We're supposed to be babysitting today but our great, great niece had a high fever and they took her to the ER last night. No covid so we'll see if we get her or not today.

Wife and I will be deer hunting tomorrow morning....that time of year again.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Storm, do you have Elk in your area also?

Morning Legionnaires!

44° this morning (Whooo! Hooo!), finally going down. Today's high to be in the mid to upper 70's. I will take it.

133/77 this morning (Whooo! Hooo!), after a 151/87 last night. I will take that too.

Thank God it is Friday (Whooo! Hooo!). No, not for me, but for you worker bees out there and, it is supposed to rain this weekend (we need it).

You folks be careful out there and slide into the weekend.

God Bless the D-League.

Edited: Don't forget to set those clocks back this weekend (for those that do).

We live on the main road of our housing division and only get a few tricks or treaters each year. However, we got none last night probably due to the fact that the road is closed to most traffic right now while being repaired. It just means those few bags of candy will have to be eaten before next year. Not big bags mind you, but good bags of candy. My daughter and I will enjoy for sure. Me in moderation of course. ;)

We do but they are not very plentiful. We've seen one good bull here at the house and a couple up on the mountain where we do most of our hiking. At our hunting lease we'll usually get pictures of a bull about once every three years. If by area you mean within an hour drive....yes. There doesn't seem to be as many elk in KY as there was 10 years ago.

I was at the initial elk release about 20 years ago when the Dept. turned out 7 elk and another here in the county when they turned out a bunch.

Absolutely! Before we started doing the Trunk or Treats I insisted that we "give out" Reese's Cups for that very reason.

Good morning all,

"Day off? Off day.." Yeah my regular day off. (I needed it.) Taking My Darling and the BB to My Darlings medical appointment around noon and then will hit a market or two. Maybe head on post to see if there are any sales.

Have a great day!

HA,

My Darling and I stayed at home last night. (Was kind of amazed at no doorbell rings in our 55 and over community. Many people here have pets and walk them religiously. (We feel for some of them.) Only one way in and out of our community so it is secluded thankfully. (Even in nearly the middle of town.) Papa babies hit it hard yesterday though here in Virginia and in Florida. Got some seriously good pics. We are thankful..

Good morning folks.

Slow night of TrT in my neighborhood. I think we had seven. They were lucky kids because I gave each about 7-10 small pieces of chocolate candy - Reese's, Milky Way, Snickers, etc. That's because my wife, in her enthusiasm, bought what must be a 25 pound bag of candy from CostCo. Ah well. I guess we'll nibble away at it and she can take a pile into the hospital where she works.

IT was rainy this morning but the sun is out. A lovely day to start November. You all have a good one.

It is a sunny 55.6°F on our way to a cool high of 66°.

Sherry and I will vote this afternoon. I love the early voting. No lines, nice people and a happy occasion.

I have lived in many places and Kentucky does elections better than any that I lived. We may be hillbillies but we can run elections. When I won as Mayor I knew by 8pm that night.
