I've got nothing against IU. Only team in B1G I'd prefer beating them is Purdue just because GD goes there. But they're awful. UK & PU would be a titanic struggle with 3-0 being most likely score.I could have sworn that UK would tie the modern-day series with a win against UL this year. I know I've been keeping up with it because it's one of the only things the locals can throw in my face. I forgot about the 2021 forfeited season. Ugh! Now 2-games back.
IU now 8-0. Damn it!
Vandy hanging in with Texas. Vols are for real. UK should go after their coach while he's hot.
Good morning folks.
Stoops AND Zac Taylor must go.
Back at work. Always an adjustment, even after just a couple off days. I can feel myself ever more getting mentally and psychologically ready to retire. I'm financially there, to be honest. I just have to make sure my mind is right to walk away.
Beautiful, cold and crisp day in the east. Went for a long run in the day and it felt like winter for the first time.
You all have a great day.
55, there is a meteor shower going on now, so you may see on your morning walks!Good morning folks.
Cold and clear in the east. I was out walking about an hour ago and there is just a sliver of moon and in that darkest hour the stars were vivid. Then I saw a falling star streak across the sky. Beautiful.
Looking at the dark morning sky I was reminded of a quote in the great book Lonesome Dove when Gus is pondering why so many men he’d known had shot themselves. “It seemed to him it was because they could not take enough happiness from the sky and the moon to carry them over the low feelings that came to all men.”
Heading into work now. Hope you all have a great day.
The upside to most of the team being good 3-point shooters is that there will be times where you have an off-shooting night, but since we have so many, someone will be on, so you keep feeding them and of course work on some more inside play when you have 3 guys who can play inside. It's going to take me a while to figure out who is who on this UK team. They look good but seem to rely on the 3-pointers too much. BUT, it appears most of the team can hit the 3s.
True, we sure shoot a lot of 3's. But Carr has been almost entirely an inside player, Williams as well. I hope Garrison has learned to not shoot the 3 by now. And....Oweh is unstoppable driving to the basket. Butler not bad at that too. Oweh is going to be my favorite player. It's going to take me a while to figure out who is who on this UK team. Supposed to help lower blood pressure because of the potassium levels in it. Been working on trying to get mine down naturally because of the side effects of Metropolol and Lisinipril. Had one (Metropolol) prescribed by my family doctor and the other (Lisinopril) by a heart doctor. Did not like either because of side effects. However, was using Lisinipril when I was running out and called for a renewal from my heart doctor's office 3 times and in each case, they said a nurse would call me back and let me know when it was sent to my pharmacy. Never received the call either time and have not taken any for about 3 weeks now.
Blood pressure in now averaging a little above 140/85. I will take that number and work on natural ways to lower it. Have an appointment with the heart doctor in mid-November but might just say screw it if I get the blood pressure down a bit.
Garrison showed a movement towards inside play last night imo.True, we sure shoot a lot of 3's. But Carr has been almost entirely an inside player, Williams as well. Yeah, I have read up on beets as another way to help lower BP. I actually like beets so I will probably add them to my diet. Other items like Hibiscus tea, Broccoli, watermelon, and other foods (only so much you can eat) are high in potassium and that seems to be high on the list of controlling BP. I have come to the realization that my doctors are just happy with controlling it with drugs which I am dead set against so, I will continue to figure out better ways until I can't. If I can keep the average in a range of 130-140/80's I will be good with that. Last few days have been in that range except for last night. 151/91. This morning however was 137/82 so, I'll take it.I've recommended the following for a bunch of people I know and it has helped everyone so far. Raw, low sodium beets. They have directly worked wonders for several people with serious HBP. Fresh or canned. Best by themselves but still work in a shake or smoothie. They also sold them for a while in squeeze packs at Costco or Sam's Club.
An acquaintance of mine told me about them many years ago after he had heard about them from an older woman. Saved two of his friends from bed rest and hospitalization respectively.
I can't stand the taste, but have eaten them when I've had hypertension issues and they've really helped me as well. Please let me know if they work to help you. Always good to get some positive feedback. Prayers being said that they help for you as well.
Yep. I have a few things wrong with me. The meds for one thing has a negative impact on something else. Foods to, to a lesser degree.Yeah, I have read up on beets as another way to help lower BP. Not really a Yankee fan but didn't want the Dodgers to win. The Cards are #2 in WS championships, and the Dodgers are #3. The way the Dodgers spend $, they will probably eventually catch the Cards.Good morning folks.
Happy Halloween. 🎃
Dodgers accepted the Yankees’ gifts last night and the Series. Always better to see an NL champ I suppose, though I am the farthest thing from a Dodgers fan. Reds in 2025 - the 50th anniversary of the first of two championships for the Big Red Machine.
Last day downtown this week. I hope it is a good one for all of you.
