D-League

Cowardly defensive play calling cost the Cats a deserved win. Twice they had 3-and-forever and rushed three, allowing all day to find an open man. Both plays cost them a touchdown, with the second one being the game winner. Disgusting. But it is the way Stupes has always coached here. I don't think you can even blame inept DC White.

At least we never have to watch Leary throw passes into the faces of defenders for jump ball interceptions ever again.

Bittersweet day for Cat fans. Heartbreaking loss to Clemson. 3 turnovers in 10 plays killed them in the second half. Can't say Clemson had the better team. Basketball Cats looked good heading into SEC play. Talent out the wazoo for this team.

Favorite Christmas present. Expensive but I'm a pepper lover. Hope all had a merry Christmas.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 38°F with a light northerly breeze. Heater been on and off all night. Morning walk looking chilly. Today's high may reach 67°F.

- Yesterday's FB game: exciting yet disappointing. So close. Tigers wanted it more. Bah! Basketball plays again January 6 at Gators. Go Cats!

- Finally shipping jacket to Seattle for repair this morning.

- Visit credit union. Prefer depositing checks in-person.

- Grocery shopping later.

Wishing all another awesome Saturday as this year closes out.

I liked Pepper too back in the day. She was pretty hot.

Good morning everyone.

Another win last night. SEC games will be tough but I think we'll be OK. The big guys getting pushed around (or pump faked) has me worried.

Not much going on for me. I've stayed home since Christmas Day. It's good to retired and just basically check out after the busy Holiday season.

I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Good morning folks.

Well, we were a minute and a scared play call on defense from one of those memorable days as Cat fans.Hoops team sure can score. I'm worried about the defense. My experience is you can't turn defensive effort off and on. It is either part of a team's DNA, provided by the coaching staff from the first practice, or it isn't. And in the same way that good defense never takes a day off, neither does bad defense. Still, Cal has a good track record as a defensive coach, and some of the mistakes are fixable -- especially when it comes to interior defense with Bradshaw and Onyenso. Those guys are still playing their first few games.

As for football, I've been ready to try someone other than Stoops for a while. But I don't get to vote. Mitch will always play it safe, and instead of saying Kentucky should at least be improving at the same rate as Missouri will say 7-6 is better than 3-9. As it is, the Cats beat exactly ONE major college team with a winning record, and that was the overrated Louisville.

My wife still dealing with COVID. My daughter says she's past it, so it doesn't appear to last long. So far so good for me. I think I've probably had a mild dose, but as long as I'm working from home it doesn't matter.

Some good games today. Hope you all have a restful day.

Georgia up 42-3 at halftime over Florida State. This should put to rest the idea that FS should have made the playoffs. Also, UGA may still be the best team this year. SEC will be 3-3 with Bama, LSU and UT playing Monday.

. . . and those dudes are making excuses for why FSU ain't worth a crap. They refuse to tell the truth that the ACC sucks and the SEC rules.

Nearly all SEC teams are ranked lower than their bowl opponents. Why? I know why and the folks dissing the SEC also know.

Good evening, D, I enjoyed watching the basketball game last night, really enjoyed Ohio States getting their butt kicked! Nothing like shaving your beard and half way through the battery goes dead! Now Mrs. M says I look like a baby orangatang with a half shaved beard, gotta love her!!! I hope the D has a great rest of the evening!!!!

Sir,

I had to laugh... my oldest daughter at 40 still cannot pronounce that animal. She still say orange gutang. (Since she was real young, 4 or 5.) 😅 😍

Gitya a razor and have at it. I have the luxury of not having much of a beard. I do find myself having to shave more now though. I used to not have to shave but every two or three days at most. I can still go a couple days and no one notices.

Happy New Year to you all...

Good Sunday morning everyone.

Not counting UK's game, I doubt I have watched 5 minutes of bowl games so far. I've at least stayed excited about UK's FB and BB games. I worry about my interest in the future.

Well, it's not everyday you get to speak (phone) to a 99 yr old WWII vet. I've posted about my 3rd cousin who was a Pearl Harbor survivor and died just a few years ago. I'm not sure I have mentioned his younger brother, now 99. He was in the Army on the Atlantic side and saw action in France/Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge. He served mostly as an MP. I've never met him either, but he did travel through KY from out West on his honeymoon (2nd) in an RV at age of 89. He was able to tell me some about my Grandmother (his 1st cousin) and my Great Grandmother (his Aunt). He was still sharp and he invited me to call again. He'll be 100 Sept. 1st. Pic of him at 98.

I hope everyone has a great day.

I am in a bowl game pickem pool with some of my softball team, army, and old work buddies which I locked up with yesterday's bowl games. I am ahead of the nearest competitor by 3 victories with 5 games left and his picks of the last 5 are only 2 different from mine. 14 competitors at $20.00 each to play. An extra $280.00 more to start the New Year. My wife generally gets half of my winnings when I win one of these.

I used to play a weekly pickem for NFL games at my last job, but since retiring, I haven't played in 3 years. I won enough each year to cover what I spent and then some. It was only $20.00 each week with some weeks grossing over $1000.00. One year I won three straight weeks with the totals being $1020.00, $860.00, and the last being $680.00.

When I first started playing my wife was against it but later changed her mind when she shared in the winnings.

Good morning folks. Happy New Year's Eve.

Wife still dealing with COVID. She's generally better but little relapses so I'm trying toa ttend to her and otherwise leave her alone. My "cold" persists (I ain't taking a test unless and until I have to which would not be until I am slated to return tot he office late in the week.) I was feeling punk enough last night that I juiced myself with some high-octane night time cold syrup I got on script a couple ehyars ago when I had a more intense bout with COVID. Seven hours of unbroken sleep, which is a near miracle with my prostate.

Gonna ride with the Bengals today until all hope is lost. Hope it is an enjoyable one for all of you.

From my doctor, pee and then go back in five minutes and pee again. Not a great answer, but it does help empty the bladder so you can last longer. A little help is better than no help.

Good morning all,

Went to bed late, woke up early. That's okay once in a while.

Heading out the door in about 15 minutes. Just coffee this morning. May make some biscuits I froze when we return...

A man ought to eat biscuits on New Year's Eve day.... (My thinking anyway...)

Have to drop off a document to my tenant near me and pick up a prescription for My Darling....

A Happy New Year's Eve day to you all...

Lucky.

I had to shave every day for most of my life. One day and I can be refused a kiss from my wife.
