No where since my truck is in the shop for the last 2 1/2 weeks. Besides, I only mess with the sucker fish so...Where WC been? 😁
(Man am I glad there is about 1300 miles between us and gas prices just rose again...)
Was just getting ready to post, we did ok. I think I had my expectations to high, we gave family and friends a little discount, didn't quite reach $500, but I am ok with it. We sold a couple pieces late last night to be taken to the funeral home today. We gave out a lot of business cards and discussed bereavement gift items. I also got two special orders, one was for an anchor! Thanks for asking.Have any luck?
You misspelled petty.Good morning all,
Bless you wc for your piety. Helps me a lot... 😁
Heading inside, may your day bring each of you good things ..
It is easy to get high expectations that come up short. I think with the economy, folks in general are not spending as much on things they don't have to have. A couple of years ago, we set up at one of the bigger stops on the 127 sale and a bad wind and rain storm came up overnight. We lost about 5 grand in tents and merchandise. That is a lot considering how much we sell. A lot of folks make a vacation out of the 127 as it lasts Thursday thru Sunday (all week in some areas). Some people drive long distances and haul trailers to carry what they buy.Was just getting ready to post, we did ok. What is the situation with Z, I have not been keeping up.Good morning everyone.
Still alive and enjoying the great weather or working around the place. I was getting very hopeful for the upcoming BBall season, but the Z situation has me down a bit. Big Z reminds me somewhat of Bowie when healthy and if there was a 3 pt line during his time
.
Wildlife Wednesday...we've seen our bear family on our cameras several times lately. 3 cubs and a small sow. A few others hanging around occasionally as well. I hiked 7 miles Monday and didn't see any. Yesterday drove through the Little Shepherd Trail and saw one. Wife saw the 3 cubs/mommy yesterday while hunting as well. The pic is in her hunting spot. The cubs are characters for sure.
I hope everyone has a great day.
Where did/do you usually set up? I grew up near 127.It is easy to get high expectations that come up short. Near where the NASCAR race is-Sparta/Glencoe area. There are a few bigger places, but the guy that owns it is a nice helpful guy. He's a retired lawyer/farmer. There's a small burger/sandwich type place on site. Now that we are moving, we may want to consider another spot. It's still 10 months away though.Where did/do you usually set up? I grew up near 127.
55, flowers die out, glass lasts forever!!Good morning D-League. Another cool, clear, beautiful day in the east.
Cord, I’m glad you did okay at the craft show. I have to admit your post was the first time I’d ever heard of bereavement gifts at a funeral. Sounds like a good idea.
Reds lost. Other contenders all won. Backs against the wall.
Have a good day.
North of us. I grew up (family still there) near the 127/Bluegrass Parkway intersection.Near where the NASCAR race is-Sparta/Glencoe area. Good afternoon D, what a beautiful day here in the Berg.
A little bit more about what I am doing with the bereavement items I am making. I had a lady contact me to buy a Butterfly to send to the funeral home, she told me that she had never even thought about sending a stained glass piece until she saw one of my Cardinals. We discussed it, at first I wasn't sure about it, then she just said, look, I went to the florist to buy some flowers, they were going to cost me $75, then I got to thinking about the Cardinal and thought, two months from now those flowers are going to be tossed in the trash, but my friend can look in her window ten years from now and your Cardinal will still be hanging there, I had rather give you $30! Mrs. M also puts the item in a box, puts a bow on it and we deliver it to the local funeral home. The $30 me purchase a piece of glass this morning, $97 for a piece called holly-berry, a 10"X 22"!!!WOWZERRRRRS!!!
Since she bought it, I am sending more items, crosses, butterflies, Bluebirds and 2 piece hearts. The hearts are special, I take the favorite color of Mother-daughter, Father-daughter or just how they want them and combining their favorite colors together as a keep-sake. I really am taking a lot of pride in this!!!
Well SC, another Air Force Emblem went out last month, gone to Arizona!!!! Thank you again for the challenge and push!!!
Later D, off to Arkansas in the morning!!! Still praying for our great D-Leaguers!!! If I catch another 8lb Brown this time, it will pay big time for big fish!!!!
May have to, glass is getting ridiculous!Raise your prices Sir! Seriously... (Of course, not telling you what to do...)
I am paying over double on my raw materials from a couple of years ago and can't find workers. That is why I am in the process of cutting way back and eventually closing.May have to, glass is getting ridiculous!
Safe travels. Have fun.Good afternoon D, what a beautiful day here in the Berg.

As long as the greenies rule in Washington energy intensive products like glass and steel are going to go out the ceiling.I am paying over double on my raw materials from a couple of years ago and can't find workers. That is why I am in the process of cutting way back and eventually closing.
Sunny and 72°F on our way to 84°.
Today is going to be a big clean up the house day. If anyone comes to help it will be free beer or wine or whisky!

I hate greenies, they are doing bad damage to our country and for odious reasons.
Just a guess, Phillies, but I don't think he liked playing there. BTW, just read Waino is the first player since 1969 to win 200 games and hit 10 homers. With the DH, he might be the last. Ohatoni has only won 38 and has arm trouble.Stumbled upon a curious baseball find on the official Hall of Fame website. A player elected can choose what cap to wear on his plaque, and for most people that becomes his HOF association. But the Hall does it's own assessment and decides which team was the primary team in a players career.
Check out Frank Robinson's HOF page: Scroll down to "Primary Team." No one would argue that Frank reached his greatest glory in Baltimore, and he chose their cap on his plaque. But on a statistical analysis, I suppose, the Hall didn't consider that his most important team association.
(Bernie: You might find it interesting what team the HOF considers Scott Rolen's "Primary Team." Hint: It isn't located on the Mississippi.
Robinson, Frank | Baseball Hall of Fame
Frank Robinson had the ability and intensity on the diamond that few possess. And he simply was impossible to intimidate. “Pitchers did me a favor when they knocked me down,” Robinson said. “It made me more determined. I wouldn’t let that pitcher get me out. They say you can’t hit if you’re on...baseballhall.org
Yeah, the Phillies. In both case -- Rolen and Robinson -- they left their initial stop with some bad feelings, Rolen toward the fans and Robinson toward the management, and a GM who once called him an "old" 30...Broke my heart when they traded him. I was nine, and lived and breathed baseball...I've often pondered the question of whether the Big Red Machine, that came together slowly in the late 1960s, would have evolved the same way had Robinson been around as the Big Dog in town. I can't say exactly why, but I've always doubted it would have heppend the same way.Just a guess, Phillies, but I don't think he liked playing there. Good morning folks. Glad Friday is here. Up early handling some work chores ahead of the weekend.
Reds got a little help last night with the Giants and Cubs losing. Bottom line, barring an extraordinary outcome, one of the Reds, Cubs or Marlins will get the final playoff spot. By late Sunday we should know if the Reds are still in the hunt with a week to go -- need at least 2 out of 3 from the Pirates, who have actually been playing better.
A bit of indirect bragging: My wife was among four people named Humanitarian of the Year by the Johns Hopkins hospital chain at a banquet last night for her work as a surgical nurse volunteer in Guyana. Proud of that. She reinvented herself as a former journalist after our kids got to school age and has made a nice second career -- third, if you count mother.
Hope its an easy Friday for all.
