D-League

Been a day, been a day.... Taking it hard but taking it easy as well. Back at it tomorrow, yeah a Saturday... delight.... (I am still thankful!) Have a peaceful sleep, I must be up at 5..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Good morning from ATX. Currently 79°F and partly cloudy. Today's high may reach 99°F. Couple more days before a cold front and rain move in.

First day of Fall. Not quite yet here.

Game Day! Plan on tuning in the game at 11 am CT. May run out for snacks before kickoff.

Wishing all a winning Saturday. Go Cats!

Had to go out early. But, I was close to My Darlings go to chestnut tree...

Got a bunch but My Darling and the BB are sleeping. (Hopefully they can get another hour or so's sleep at least.) His soccer game today is cancelled and his Mom is working. Hopefully these cause a little happiness. (I took my long fishing net pole and pulled a bunch down. Got two bags like these and another bag. (It was raining pretty hard so I will need to make another trip but this should suffice for a bit...)

Ought to make some good moments anyway... ;)

Of course these are SO unlike Ohio "Buckeyes"...........which is nothing but a USELESS Chestnut!"

Below you see the USELESS Chestnut!!! (Heck, a Deer won't even eat a buckeye, squirrels are about the only animal that can "safely" eat a buckeye... Go figure...

Oh, and then there is the "Ohio" "Mascot"... (Go figure...)

Good morning everyone.

I'm back from an early morning litter pickup up our little road. I usually do this early Sat. mornings before the traffic picks up. Saw 2 trucks in about 45 minutes. :)

Chestnut trees during bloom are the nastiest smelling thing around. My FIL use to laugh at me when I complained. My wife still won't let me cut them down 26 years after he passed away. Good memory but it still sucks one week of the year.

Game Day! This one will tell us a few things.

I hope the team and everyone here has a great day.

That's partly why I take all the husks (I guess that's what you call them. (Looked it up, called a "bur".) with me when I get chestnuts and throw them away. They are rough stuff...

One came out of the tree and hit me in the arm on the way down... No biggy but they are no joke...

Good morning D-League.

Back from a very, very soggy five-mile walk in a steady rain. Gotta stay committed: I'm a little more than two-thirds of the way to my goal of losing 35 pounds. But that last third will be the hardest, for sure.

I'm calling time of death on the Reds: 9/22. A sorry effort last night when they absolutely had to have a game against an ordinary opponent. I've never been a fan of David Bell and all his weird quirks and silly over-managing have hurt the team this past week. But the truth is, they just aren't ready to be elite. Not enough pitching and too many young players who haven't reached that level of professionalism yet.

Should be a great day of football. I never root for Ohio State, but will be ALL IN for them against Notre Dame. Some other decent games as well.

Hope it is a good one for everybody.

Root for a Buckeye???? The horror.... Could root for an earthquake for just the field... Eh,...

Sunny and 72°F on our way to 84°.

Today is going to be a big clean up the house day. If anyone comes to help it will be free beer or wine or whisky!
That's easy.

ONE! shot on an ice cube does the trick. Decent warm up.
I need some too Sir. I am fresh out of sustenance.... I'd be there if it were at all possible!

Started watching late so I apparently missed some good Kentucky play…

But since I turned this on at 24-0 Kentucky has looked like they couldn’t beat Highland Heights High School. Good thing they are playing a weak Vandy team, but I fear for the rest of the season —and today isn’t in the bag.
It is as if they get complacent after getting a lead.
