D-League

Good morning everyone.

It was a busy day yesterday mostly spending money. We did get to relax in the evening and got to see some wildlife right around the house that we have never seen while inside before. Any one know how to post a video here?

We're just working around/in the house today. But, it's starting to drizzle again. 3 days in a row expected plenty of rain but got only enough to dampen the grass.

Reeves back. I'm still trying to stay positive about the season.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Just finished cutting and weed eating of the grass. Probably need to check the weed eating tomorrow as it got dark before I finished. Radar has some storms coming in so, I decided to get it done. Cloud cover made it bearable. Sucking up a Hollander beer that I found in the class 6. Not bad, but not on par with the German or Belgian that I drink normally. Would buy it again though. Diversity.

So, you're not prejudiced. Good to know...

Woke up a little later than normal this morning (moments ago). I usually get up between 04:00 and 04:30. Sucking up coffee fast because I need to leave here in about 30 minutes if I want to get any fishing in today. Have to get out early as the temperature is in the low 70's but will get hot quick. Couple two or three hours to fish.

Priorities, priorities.... You are DEFINITELY on point. I'm "Wit ya".... (If I was close enough to water, I'd WFW (Work From Water)

As I was told today, there is only one man who can change the weather and that is algore.

Not saying anything profound, but college hoops ain't what it used to be. Only two of top seven NBA draft picks are from colleges. Two are from France & three from developmental leagues.

I wouldn't care if they did away with scholarships & just played for the hell of it.

And another (warrior will like this):

"Auburn is home to another college sports juggernaut, likely swimming under your radar, unless you’re the dedicated sort of athlete who likes to rise in the darkness, drive to the lake and flip and pitch mats. This team is ultra-accomplished, famous inside fishing circles, and has students earning real money—while still in school.

Meet the Auburn bass fishing team, which recently captured the National Collegiate Bass Fishing title,"

Morning Legionnaires!

71° this morning with a chance of thunderstorms. High today to be in the low 90's Going to try and get a walk in for the monster and then to the shop for a workout.

Training my student at 13:00 today in preparation for a Karate tournament tomorrow. She has been in contact with the people running the tourney and found out that there are only two other ladies in her division competing tomorrow and they will probably combine them with the guys when competing in forms. They did that in the last tournament she competed in, and she placed second in forms. When only having to compete with women she came in first in other tournaments. She has always placed first in fighting so... Last tournament they almost disqualified her for excessive use of force. The other ladies complained that she was too aggressive. Go figure. Yes, it is a sport first (point contact fighting), but they also need to prove they can actually take and deliver contact too. She is used to me putting on gear and allowing her to put power in her attacks.

Well, TGIF for you hard workers. Enjoy your day and God Bless.

It is cloudy and 64.6°F on our way to 79 with only 20% chance of rain. We go no rain yesterday.

Well I guess that the sub in the Atlantic had a implosion. I would get on that thing for love nor money much less pay $250,000 to see an old shipwreck.

Enjoy your Friday folks.

Good morning folks. Still rainy and gray in the east.

Working from home today.

Interesting weekend ahead. We're having a Graduation Party for my son. That'll be good, though a lot of the attendees will be remote in-laws who I'll have to try to entertain. And my wife's college roommate is coming up from Atlanta to spend the weekend so she can take part -- never had kids of her own and our son was as close as she came to a niece or nephew. She's the one that never --- no exaggeration there, NEVER -- stops talking in a loud, grating voice. And when she and my wife get lit up with wine, my wife is an entirely different person and one I could never live with for an extended period of time. I just endure these visits, because it is good for my wife's emotional wellbeing. But it's a real test for me.

Tragic news about the "submersible" imploding. My greatest sympathies by far are with that 19-year-old kid whose dad foolishly took him along on something that he had to know had an element of risk.

I don't think we have many Navy vets in the D-League so I may be the only one who ever spent time beneath the sea on a submarine -- the Ohio Class Nuclear Sub USS Florida. I went out of Pensacola for several days on the Florida about 15 years ago. We were only down about 800-1,000 feet, but that was probably too deep to swim for it if something went wrong.

Part of my job as a journalist was covering the Navy, so I have done aircraft landings on Carriers, gone ashore with a Marine unit in an AAV in Somalia, been in the Red Sea, Persian Gulf, Adriatic, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Indian Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean. I crossed the equator off the coast of Africa on the USS Juneau, so I'm a Shellback -- not a Pollywog. The Navy always had AC and Ice Cream, so in some ways a better gig than the Army. But honestly, I much preferred being with soldiers or Marines.

Cool stuff,

Reminded me of my brother. (He is ten years older than I am.) My brother was into Tae Kwon Do in his teens. Actually pretty good as I remember. He was in a tournament and Chuck Norris actually threw my brother down. My brother had knocked a guy out. Not sure why I remember that and at the time me being around six or seven didn't have any idea who Chuck Norris was....

Good Morning all,

Hard at it again (Sitting in a chair). I poured a full cup of water on my keyboard yesterday and it was toast. Nothing I did brought it back except it could type a few letters. Just ignorant how it happened. I thought I had the top on but it was not. Glad it was water too or I'd have had a much bigger mess. Anyway, I swapped out a junk keyboard I am glad I didn't toss. (Some may not be as glad.) Have a great day... I am lurking...

Yeah as my son told one of my other adopted sons who spent several years in the Navy (I have three as I KNOW I should have taken those chumps off on my taxes several years as they lived at my house mostly growing up.)

He told him (My son was Kentucky and Florida Air National Guard with a tour in Iraq.), yeah the Navy is so very smart. They have the Navy camouflage uni's so if you fall into the water...................................No one can see you... I laugh about that every time I think about it.

I am with you though in some aspects MdW, I'd rather be around a soldier than most anyone else I come in contact with. Luckily I am around a lot now, so, I am thankful.

I have some pretty decent adopted sons too. One's a border Guard captain now. One's a federal employee that is actually involved in meaningful duty, and the other is in the medical field as is my son. Again, thankful to be associated with them though the last time they were all together and I was there they drank all my beer AND all I could buy. Been a few years but that evening set me back hundreds of dollars which had me smiling and feeling good so it was in deed.......priceless...

Morning Legionnaires!

71° this morning with a high expected around 99°.

Got to walk the monster this morning and workout shortly so I can get ready for the Karate tournament that's starts at 0900 in Lawton. Black Belt meeting is at 0800 but I am skipping that this time. They usually grab you up to help judge or run the competitions in the ring. Not this time, It normally keeps me there all day. Not going to do that. Going to watch my student do her thing and then get out. The Reds play at 15:10 CDT today and I want to be back in time to watch. Have not missed a game since before this streak began and I don't want to jinx it. 😁

Last year at this tournament an actual fight broke out between the black belts of two different schools after the tournament was completed. Something about biased judging (it does happen) of students. Not worth the hassle.

Well folks, have a great Saturday and enjoy the weekend.

God Bless.

Good morning folks.

Graduation party for my son today. Up doing prep work. Will the freaking rain stop so we can use the back porch and deck? I hope so.

Quite a night for Reds fans. 12 game winning streak. And dela Cruz hits for the cycle —first Rrd since Eric Davis in the 1990s! There’s always a chance pitchers will figure this guy out and he’ll be a flash in the pan, but that chance is getting smaller. There’s a growing chance that this will turn out to be what it was like to watch young Willie Mays or Mickey Mantle or Ken Griffey when they first came up. Can’t wait to get to the Nationals’ park to see him in ten days.

Hope the Cats get good news with Tre Mitchell this week. He’s the perfect piece for this talented but young crew.

Hope it’s a great weekend for all.

Are you talking hoops here? I don't keep up with 1 & dones till well after they've played enough games to prove themselves. Thanks.
Tre Mitchell is a 5th year power forward potentially transferring in from West Virginia following Bob Huggins' implosion. He averaged 12 points and 6 rebounds last year, had some big games (like 20 points against Kansas) and has a man's frame at 6'9" 230...

He'd be s perfect add for this Kentucky team heavy on potential but light on experience. Hope it happens.
