D-League

Hello,

Won't go into the day, suffice it to state, I just finished the day. I am thankful. I am off tomorrow. All I have to do is get my annual inspection sticker on my commuter car that ran out the last day of May, take my oldest to the DCA airport in DC, go measure the wood that is needed for my youngest daughters deck so someone doesn't break a leg by stepping through rotten planks, hit the markets with My Darling, pick up the BB, come home and start working on the house (Declutter and pitch mode.)

In my best Jerry Clower rendition of a coon hunting story... Playing this again as it is enjoyable and will make you laugh. Have a peaceful rest...

Good morning and Happy Friday from ATX. Currently 71°F and partly cloudy. Today's high expected around 91°F.

Drank first beer last night since December 18th. Lovely tasting Yeungling draft.

Wishing all a nice day and great start to your weekend.

MORNING LEGIONNAIRES!

69° this morning with light winds. Will go fishing here shortly so, report to follow when I get back.

@AustinTXCat Stay thirsty my friend. Cut grass yesterday and had a good German beer afterwards. Also had Rotisserie chicken for lunch. Just a day early.

For those working: TGIF you lucky dogs!

Enjoy your day folks and God Bless.

Checking in a bit late. Hope all is well. Early morning doc appointment —surgeon wanted one last look at hip replacement. Hip’s fine but he didn’t offer much to deal with ongoing aches and stiffness. I guess it’s called “pushing 70 disease.”

Beautiful day here. Sneaking in a post-lunch walk before a long afternoon of work. Have a great day folks.

Fishing report:

Fished three ponds this morning with the first (Bald) not producing a thing. The second one (Miner road Twins) gave me a catch on the very first cast. Was in my waders needing to hit a spot far away and hit the spot, spot on. As soon as the lure hit the water a bass hit it. Fought with it for a moment and then it spit out the hook. As I continued to retrieve the lure another bass hit it as it got close to me so, I pulled that one in. One cast, 2 hooks and one haul. Nothing more after that so I moved on to Natches where I had 2 hooks and two landed so, today's score: Warrior-Cat 3--Largemouth Bass 1. Nothing big enough to brag about. The biggest being about a pound and a half.

Sorry if this has political leanings, but I thought it was important.

The man or woman needs to be fired immediately and whoever authorized the action! JUST RIDICULOUS and COMPELTELY SICKENING..

Oh, nothing at all political about the post Sir. That was anti-American!

Whoever is anti-American is not political, they are communistic.

That thing would have had to arrest me or shoot me to make me stop if I started. (realizing it was "just" children, that thing may have been brave. Would have loved to have seen the thing stop a bunch of men singing the "National Anthem".

Not complaining about those here posting. I do enjoy reading them but we sure seem light where posts are concerned. I know SC is around but not posting, Any word from Don, I know he hasn't posted in a long while but I thought I saw where he was still kicking. I do hope he is okay. I know another is posting in other areas and some come and go but..... This thread is homey to me... I post a few times here and there and try to spread likes in other threads to the posters here but I don't hit the other threads like I do this one. (To some that may be good or bad. ;) ) Take care...

The Cats leadership does concern me and has for a long while. Seems just criminal what has occurred and seems to still be going on... I will shut up....

Everything seemed fine until I vacationed on Cumberland Plateau and Nolin Lake area, April 21-30. Folks posted interesting reflections here. Folks had a good time. Folks enjoyed themselves.

However, somebody could not keep their damned mouth shut about my business. How I spend 1-2 hours of my possibly remaining 14 months on this Earth is of nobody else's concern nobody except for parties immediately involved. The poster in question was not immediately involved. But, oh no Batman, he chose to involve himself.

In my personal business.....

I've exercised extreme discretion thus far. No names. ect. Have not directly called anybody out. Shit like what happened to me usually results in actions like thread bans, forum bans and even legal action.

Just remember it's not okay to trash a disabled vet with stage IV head and lung cancer who fights for his life every GD day. Sorriest crap I've ever seen here.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 73°F and partly cloudy. Expecting 91°F for a high. AC just a blasting. Ugh!

Random thoughts:

- Got my old Dell i7 running. Upgraded hard drive to SSD. Small drive, just 128 GB. Plan on installing Virtual Box, Open Office and perhaps different browsers. I'll be taking it on trips.

- Might haul cans to metal recycle later this morning. Could use a few extra $.

- Watched Natalia Grace over past few evenings. Crazy stuff.

- Going for a walk around 6 am. This past half-year has been slow. Reason: those homeless bums copied my methods.

- Daughter read some of the stuff I posted in Political thread. She now calls me a shitposter. [laughing]

Wishing all Happy Saturday. Take care.

Good morning everyone.

I'm still staying busy this time of year. I'll be kayaking/fishing with my wife, BIL, his grandson & his girlfriend. I can't recall what I've updated you all about so won't risk repeating myself today. But, who knows what I'll do tomorrow.

The above post about the National Anthem at the Capitol is just unbelievable even with today's standards. Sickening.

I hope everyone has a great day.

As I prayed (just now) and ask God that you have more than just 14 months or so (for the sake of family and friends) I also know that it is his will not mine so, fight the good fight until it is time and God Bless.

P. S. If you need it, I can throw a couple of punches and kicks in there.

Good luck. I will be going again tomorrow.

Good morning folks.

Austin, I hope the lord has plans for you that will take many more than 14 months to unfold. People like you are indispensable, and we need you around as long as possible. I missed the abuse you described above. Not surprised. Along with fine folks, this board attracts some sorry people. I tell myself they come here to instigate from rival programs and are not true Kentuckians. I hope I’m right.

Clear and hot today. Taking my long Saturday walk. Then the Commander in Chief has a long list of outdoor tasks for my son and me as she tries to make our property perfect ahead of a graduation party for our recent graduate. Sometimes I miss my lower-working class town in Kentucky where I grew up, and people accepted a certain amount of good-natured squalor, like the junk car that was too nice to haul away but too expensive to fix —right now. But someday…

Hope you all have a good day.

Thanks
Had this been an outside job, I'd simply blow it off. Problem is it came from a respected member within.

Since the abuse didn't happen to me (or you), I guess it wasn't so noticeable to us. It's easier not to notice the pain when the hammer hits someone else's finger. I didn't catch it either. I'd hope it was just a misunderstanding that got out of hand or someone having a bad day.

Question for anyone with knowledge of foundations. Should you buy a house with steel floor jacks under it(16 of them)? No noticeable rot in wood under the house. Roof is old, but nothing easily seen as a problem. A roof vent was repaired at one time. No cracks noticeable in foundation.

Sir,

It really depends on the sub surface of the ground.(clay, rock, sand,...) If asking generally, I'd walk away....

Edit: (From me 20-25 years working under structures in Kentucky.) Part of what I did was to install those type systems. In basements and mostly crawl spaces...

Got to see my 8 year old Great Grand Daughter yesterday. Wanted to go Dairy Queen so off we go. Always wants a chocolate Sundae. Need to stop at Lowe’s and she tells me she wants to go to Hobby Lobby, Petco and pOpshelf. Back in direction we came from but anything to make her happy. Then take her home. Wore me out but worth every minute.

Is there any evidence of ground movement? There are companies that specialize in these things. My SIL has big problems with ground movement. It is caused by water. She just spent $14,000 on putting in 40 foot long pilings to get to base rock to stabilize her house. Flood plains cause this problem.

I think it may be prudent to check for ground movement. The fact that there are no cracks noticeable in the foundation is a good sign that all is well.

Thanks. We are house shopping and this was a house we looked at. There were drainage problems at one time, that appear to be corrected. Don't know about ground movement.

Good afternoon D, we are heading to a birthday party this afternoon, Mrs. M had a request for a gallon of homemade peanut butter ice cream from the grandson, birthday boy.
ATX you are always in my prayers, I pray the doctors are wrong!

Heading out to Arkansas this Thursday trout fishing, this will be my last time taking two trips there fishing, don't like being away from my family.

The only way that it would appear that I would say anything bad about the D Leaguers, is I account would have been hacked, you guys are my friends!!!!

Glass business is out of control, I never intended it to be a job, it's getting to close to that!!! I am retired! Everytime I take something I made to the Apple House, the lady tells me, hey look at this project think you can make it? I just laugh and say maybe. Her latest is making three different suncatchers, titled, Sunrise in Paradise (John Prine), Sunrise on the Green (River) and Sunrise on Lake Malone. Going to make one of each and see how it goes, but I will say this, GOD has been good to me!!!!!

I hope the D has a great day and always praying for the D!!!!
