** D-League Public Service Announcement **

I'm currently fighting a battle for my life. The very notion an individual might go behind my back and attempt sabotaging long-standing relationships I've maintained for years with other posters so they might kiss ass or earn cheap brownie-points tells us everything we need to know about this poster. Even more disgusting is their complete disregard for my current condition.

Absolutely sickening! You know who you are.

Thank you.

DOH! Wrong kind.

Good morning all,

Heading inside...

The furniture delivered yesterday had several damaged pieces .... Will go fight that battle after work today, sigh... Always something.... After that, I am off until Wednesday next...

Heading to the metropolis of Gainesville Florida Wednesday late to visit my son, new daughter, two new grandchildren and two oldies but goodies grand children. This time my whole family will be together, Lord willing and the river don't rise...

God Bless you all,

Grasp today and squeeze all you can from it....

Hello all,

Ask the Lord to intervene, he does. (I did not feel like arguing. A rarity.)

I was in no mood to deal with the furniture store. We bought a good amount of items about a week or so ago. Had them delivered yesterday. A good part of the order was damaged to include a new serta king size mattress, My Darling and I never owned one and decided it was time..

The store is to replace the damaged items. Plus caught part of a sale lower than we paid about a week or so ago and got that credited. (Almost $200.00) I am thankful, it did not take an argument as I had multiple pictures. The delivery distance was only three miles.

Went to a dinner tonight for my wife's job. The contract manager (military contract) is retiring at the end of the month so, they had a dinner for her. The new manager was there as well. In the process of saying their goodbye's they also congratulated 2 other people who were just awarded next level positions in the contract here. One as I found out happened to be my wife. She put in for the manager position that supervises all TI's (Technical inspectors) and QC's (quality control inspectors) for the contract. The current manager (her boss) moved up into another position. When I ask her why she did not tell me before we went to the dinner, she simply stated that it was not announced until then that she had gotten it. Not complaining however, while salaried we looked at the pay and determined it was a $9.00 more an hour raise. We'll take it.

Good morning everyone.

Ahh, snails. I enjoy them on the cruise ship when they're included in the price. I've yet to pay for them anywhere else. Garlic butter, you just can't go wrong with garlic butter.

I enjoyed another trip to the lake and fished with Dad. One night we caught some stripers, and largemouth & smallmouth. The next night we got skunked.

Wildlife Wednesday...not only did we get skunked we saw 2 that night to and from the lake. We don't have many here around home but at the lake is a different story. Easy going critter and I've never been sprayed or had any other issue with them. They come in plenty of different variations. I've seen some almost white and some with the prettiest pattern imaginable. Not my picture.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning folks. Cloudy and cool in the east. Humming along inside the subway. Another witk day.

Congratulations to your wife Warrior. That’s a nice achievement.

Feels like we are getting close to a run of announcements by the Kentucky players who have been testing the waters. I’d like to get some good news today.

I hope it’s a good day for everyone.

My 2 grandsons are both catchers. They both made the Little League All Star teams. One was the #1 pick. The other won the home run derby at the All Star game with 23 homers. They live near Tampa. My daughter is an asst coach and takes them to a membership club with former pros as coaches. Sorry for the boast, just found out.

Ahead of Memorial Day I think this is something all you folks, especially the veterans, will want to read.

A quick aside: Yesterday a woman I know who is an accomplished Washington-based journalist called me to tell me that her father had been inducted into the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame, and while touring the building where it is housed she saw my plaque, unaware I was a member.

The fact that her father, John Fetterman, hadn't already been in the HOF was a travesty, because all would-be newswriters back when I was a kid grew up admiring his work. Here is a piece for which he won the Pulitzer Prize in 1968: The story of a young Kentucky kid killed in Vietnam being brought back to his hometown for burial:

I probably read that article when it was written. I remember reading John Fetterman's articles.

There are a thousand what ifs. You might be alive because you were standing a foot away. You were on a chopper today instead of yesterday. You made a mistake, but got lucky and the other guy didn't.

I can't play music except CD or phonographs et.al. but if I could a sax would be in the top three. Piano and guitar are the others.
The sax sound is so cool. Only reason he chose to play it is because older sister stopped playing & it was the instrument laying around the house. Family had bought 2nd hand for $120. LOL. He volunteered for the jazz ensemble which is where the solos were. Only four total solos. Goes to school early couple days a week to practice. Oh yea, I'm music & playing clueless.

Or like my former BIL not getting on that first helicopter but for some reason getting on the second. That decision saved his life.

MORNING LEGIONNAIRES!

64° this morning with a high of 82° expected.

Had the EKO yesterday and ask the person doing the EKO how it came out and he said that I will be told at the end of all of my testing's what the results are. Have had about 4 appointments so far, doctor's first direct checkup, an EKG (3 of them), and the EKO yesterday. Tuesday is the stress test. Not sure if that will be the final test before they tell me anything so...All of this since my March 2nd chest pains. Sure takes a while to get any real answers around here. I guess if there was any real problems, they would have already notified me (one would hope).

Stopped by my old office yesterday after the EKO appointment and my old co-workers were asking me when I was returning. There is a rumor that I was coming back to take the now vacant supervisor's position. "News to me" I told them. My last supervisor (before they hired the new guy when she took a higher position) was there helping out, and the next level supervisor was also, and they ask if was I ready to come back (semi-joking I now suspect). Apparently, there are some issues with taking care of the AIT (Advanced Individual Training) and BCT (Basic Combat Training) units with the current workers and issues with the CTO (Central ticketing office) and those workers. I told them before I left that the new supervisor they hired was the wrong hire. He is now in another job. He was/is a jerk and is the reason I retired at that time. They offered the job to me before I retired but, I had plans of retiring a few years after the hiring so, I deferred hoping they would give it to the lady who had been there for over 15 years and was very knowledgeable. Nope, so as soon as they hired the "Jerk" (apologies to Steve) I dropped my retirement paperwork.

Well, enough of that, Happy Friday to all of you (especially you grinders) and God Bless.
