Good Friday morning D-League
I have some personal paper work and accounting to do today. Nothing extraordinaire. I am anxious for a day of football tomorrow and the Cats will kick off early.
Our weather is pleasant with 72° at the moment and a high of 84° this afternoon. We will have our usual chance of rain. Scattered showers with a 75% chance by 4:00 PM. As I get older I catch myself missing the Old Home Place, where I first saw the light and spent most of my early childhood. Running free in those citrus groves with only a stick to protect myself in the event a rattler was hiding behind a grapefruit tree. A great way to grow up.
I trust all are well in body and in spirit.

Yeah, I am due for a John Wayne movie. Had it on my mind for a couple days...
Getting ready to change my belts on my Mazda tomorrow and then my friend reminded me about maybe replacing the water pump while I have the belts off. I am checking now to see how much and watching Youtube to see how involved that is.... (May just be changing the belts...81k who knows...) My Darling wants to hit the Markets tomorrow and I bought some buttermilk for biscuits. If the Lord doesn't take me home, that's the plans... Biscuits and the Markets...

It didn't catch on fire but it did not have a starter and I had to park it on an incline and pop the clutch to start it. Also, the brakes went out in an intersection of a four lane highway. I had to run the red light and get up on the median. It is fun being young, poor and driving a VW held together with baling wire. Loads of fun.

I had a hand me down (From my brother, my brother told me he wanted $300.00 for it and I agreed. (That was in about 1976.) Toyota Corolla 4spd station wagon and was thankful for it. I recently paid him for that car..... I drove and drove that car. It was a goodun until I had an electric issue and my Dad tried helping by crossing a wire and the next morning I found the wiring harness was burnt out of it. Melted the harness together like a mozzarella stick. Oh well, what could I do...

We have an early start today and my game face is on. Sausage is almost ready and the coffee is good, black and strong. Our temp is 74° with 95% humidity. We should creep up to 82° by mid afternoon and have a 68% chance of rain around 4:00 PM. May have a little lightning and thunder.

It is a cool 59.9°F here on our way to 85°. I assume the temps in Lexington will be similar so it will an ideal warm football day.

Gameday -- and I hope a stress-free one filled with Rooster's blue sparks and Warrior's artillery barrages. I saw on ESPN the Cats had a 97 percent chance to win. That made me wonder what Texas A&M'S and Notre Dame's chances to win were last week.
Not a ton of great games today. I guess I'll watch the Oklahoma-Nebraska game out of nostalgia for the 1970s and 1980s when that was one of about six games everyone looked forward to - Ohio State-Michigan, Florida-Tennessee, USC-UCLA, Oklahoma-Texas, Nebraska-Oklahoma, Notre Dame-Miami. I hate that some of those regional rivalries have been diminished, but others are still vital.
Loved the photo of the VW on fire, Sawnee. The Volkswagen company certainly produced some iconic vehicles that were part of our teen-age experience in the 1970s. As a young college kid I started seeing a woman who was already in her mid-20s, and she had one of those VW Things - the square-angled convertible with corrugated looking sides. It was like a stripped down Nazi staff car. But pretty cool. Right after that I was part of a clique that revolved around a guy with a VW Van. Good Times. Maybe. Actually, my mind's a blank.

Decent first half. The hangover from the Gainesville win was minimal. Levis found his rhythm. The defense has been energetic and focused.
It feels good to have a quarterback that can put the ball on the money and throw for long yardage.
I did not think anyone was watching. I washed my hands afterwards.

Hey Coach Stoops: I’m watching two games. Youngstown would beat Nebraska fairly comfortably. Better hang on to your good thing.
Hopefully Nebraska fans get their wish and Urban Meyer decides to take the job in the upcoming days. This way we won't have it being a distraction over the team all season.
