D-League

Good Morning all,
I have been up since about 0530 but have been hard at it. (Yeah, still sitting in a chair...) ;)

Have a productive day in whatever you undertake.... (No not him)

Nice and good morning Sir but I'd be interested in knowing the four core criteria used. (I didn't click on seeing all the companies) In any event Deloitte has some cred in that area but they are also a contract company who is big into certain areas, all of which I am not familiar but they have a good foothold in technology.
I really have no idea how they came up with naming them the best managed company in America. It looks like the Wall Street Journal agreed. I do know the Seminoles have done well financially over the years and contributed a lot to the culture of the area. When liberals tried to change the name of the Florida State Seminoles they were very upset and put a stop to it. It was a matter of pride for their tribe to have that mascot representing them.

I didn't know whether to post I was shocked or laugh. That was one of those ambidextrous posts... ;)
It was random. I got my everyday random on. It's a long story.
So GD made all-conference softball 1st team, ten schools. Yeh!! Tough league too. For the 31 SW OH large schools' division, her conference had the #1, #3, #8, & #9 seeds, not hers, for their state tourney region. Net, she is in with lots of topnotch players.
That's awesome! I had a couple of females on our team back just after high school. One dude bitched about it. Didn't have to kick him off the team, when everyone chimed in they were better than him, he quit.

They could "spot hit". In slow pitch softball, if there is no one on base, hit to left field. Always make a hard turn at first on your way to second. Left fielder should have the ball by now. If he makes a good throw that won't draw the second baseman off, turn around and go back to first. If the throw looks offline, or short, go hard into second.

Player on first? Hit to right field. If the player rounds second then she is running away from the throw and a cut off is neccessary. Right field should be default unless no one is on.

Softball 101.
Did I say she's going into engineering?
This is the best part of the repeat post! Gave me fits, but I would like to do it again. Challenging.
Good morning. It is sunny and 65.3°F and we are supposed to get to 84°.

I will be voting this afternoon and maybe mow the yard if I feel up to it.
Vote for someone to mow your yard! My God man! Use your knowledge of local politics!
I voted. There was a pretty good turnout. I'm really hoping Dieruf wins the Republican ticket for mayor. Probably won't matter for the general election. Louisville has had nothing but Democrat mayors since 1969.
You say that like it's a bad thing. If not for the Democratic leadership, violent crime and pestilence would have migrated from the west end of Louisville, all the way out to the Iroquois area and around to Newburg. Both the Bashford Manor Mall and the Showcase Cinemas would have been in danger!

Bring back Mayor Jerr!

Shot an 81 today. Only had one birdie but it was on a good hole. Should win my $10 back with that.

I was making fun of a young guy who came to play with us on the after round holes we play. He's much younger and takes the same wide stance as the young guns. He hits it a ton. Mike and I started standed wider and be damned if we didn't hit it bigger than ever. Oh well, I'm learning those things that I used to say about the old guys. "he's down the middle every time and how does he hit it that far without swinging hard".

Golf, like life, does not build character, it reveals it.

Never golfed, but while in college worked at a bowling alley and got free bowling. Often 10 or 12 games a day. Got pretty decent at it.
I bowled a 224 one time in Athens Alabama. Somewhere, in a box, I still have the score sheet. 186 would be a common number for me. I aimed at the center pin and threw it as hard as I could. I counted on my incompetence of throwing straight to hope I hit just left or right of the head pin. Got lots of strikes that way and it was violent.

I used to travel a little in something called the Midwest Bowling Association. I was high qualifier and won a tournament that had 7 or 8 PBA members in it. Full disclosure, they were regional pros, not the big guys like you see on TV.

This is what I have going on the stereo at the moment. Pretty sure I wore out the first cassette I had of this in high school. Wore out an album later on and then a cd in the 90's. Favorite Floyd album.

A multi-channel remix of this album has been in the works since 2017 but David Gilmour and Roger Waters have been in a squabble over liner notes. Release date was supposed to be next month but now that's not going to happen. I have Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here on multi-channel SACD and they're fabulous!

I bowled in the Detroit free press money league for three years. I raked in some dough back then.

I'm looking upgrade on the stereo equipment and redo the spare bedroom for AV. I want to build all the components and have decided on CSS Criton 1TD-X speakers and an Akitika PR 102 pre amp and GT 102 amp. According to research this is about the best I can do for the money.

I can't wait until this Johnny Depp case is over with. My wife has been glued to it. She's a Depper.
I didn't know it was going on. Thanks for the spoiler alert. I thought it was something that happened last year that people were still talking about. I never clicked on a link or lingered when assaulted.

When these "Hollywood" people get into these kinds of squabbles, wouldn't it be nice if the judge would just say "what the hell did you expect? She's just as effed up as you are! Two negatives only make a positive in math. Have someone explain that to each of you after you leave my courtroom!"

Da brudder got his Mark Roth thing going on...

I tried to pattern myself as a right-handed Earl Anthony but I had less cut but not much less.

I gotta admit. Since my hearing loss I haven't kept up with audio/video gear like I used to but that looks like some interesting equipment.

I’ve been hearing that from women at work —how Johnny Depp is getting a raw deal. Pretty amusing - women stick together on the “me too” stuff when it’s some pig face like Harvey Weinstein. But when it’s the sexy Pirate Guy from their 20-year-old fantasies - that’s a different story.

Rand Paul vs. Charles Booker for the US Senate seat. No surprise. As I posted on the political thread, Booker will take Jefferson and Fayette county, maybe some of Northern Kentucky. Paul takes the rest of the state in a landslide.

Played this one in Germany first time I was there practically every day. Brings back good memories.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 73°F and mostly cloudy. Today's high expected around 97°F.

Checked with director yesterday regarding leave beginning July 2nd. Good to go.

Pup seems real antsy about something this morning. Glad she's okay.

Happy Hump Day. Wishing happiness and health for all our fellow D-League members.

Good Morning all,

awf, you are late. May have to........"fly"...

Me and the BB cleaned our lower level (Ground level) yesterday in our house. (He and the little booger has most of their toys in that area. (Little bits and pieces of toys we kind of weeded through and got rid of some and boxed up a lot.) He was a little upset that we didn't vacuum but it was too late to start. I promised him I wouldn't vacuum until he got back from school today. The BB loves to vacuum. He has his own set of ear plugs. He and I vacuumed our upstairs rooms Monday. We may pull out the Bissell Carpet cleaner as well as I spilled some coffee in a couple places. He loves using the upholstery tool and squirting that solution and vacuuming it.

I planned on starting to lay the landscape timbers today but priorities and all. My Darling still cannot envision how I have it planned. All My darling sees is the three sides I have dug up. (I do hope it works out how I envision it. It should...)

Oh well, back to my day job. I have it finally working where I want it as well. Take your day and use it to your's and your families advantage...

Think cheap gas.... it may happen.

Man no sleeping in our neighborhood this day. Helicopters were flying over low for a good while now just after 6 but have left. Had a bunch of birds chirping outside our windows and now some neighbor I guess has had it and started blasting some sort of music down the street. (Not normal) but the bass is ridiculous. How stupid can some people get...

Good morning D League. An incredibly nice morning in the east - cool and crisp with no clouds at all and the sky the color of your favorite Kentucky tee shirt after you’ve washed it 20 times.

And I have a good seat with some privacy on the subway. I spotted some rough, wild looking homeless dude passed out in a car — but miraculously he has no smell at all. So I sat across from him and no one else wants anything to do with us.

Looks like it’s my day. Good luck to all of you.

Things like this makes me glad I live in the middle of nowhere.

Well the guy woke up for a couple minutes of course, pointed to his grossly swollen leg, told a ludicrous story about being bitten by a snake, or maybe a spider, and asked for money. I knew this was coming so had a couple one dollar bills segregated in my shirt pocket to hand him. He’s back to sleep now, dreaming of $1.97 half pints of wine.

A tiny price for privacy on the subway.

Yeah, understood, I rarely carry cash any longer but since mine and my Darlings trip to SC I have had the remnants of three hundred and fifty dollars or so in cash in my pocket. We decided on a Little Caesars cheese pizza with light sauce this past Sunday afternoon and walking into the joint an elderly man was sitting on the sidewalk in front of the store. He hit me up. I didn't want to pull my wad out but told him I would be back and I came back with two dollars and he blessed me. I went in and retrieved our pizza and he blessed me again as I left.

I had a guy a year or so ago nearly accost me in a Lidl's parking lot in Springfield. My daughter and wife was in our car as I was opening the door to get in. This guy came up to me within about a foot and I stated to him give me five feet of space NOW. He did and then stated he was 59 and needed money and again stated he hoped I wasn't going to be like all the rest and ignore his plea for help. I looked him dead in his eye and stated I was 59 too and, yep, I was going to be like all the rest, I got in my car and left him standing there as I pulled out. My daughter told me I had mellowed, (She'd seen people come up to me that close before and knew I didn't take people invading my space.), I told her I had not mellowed but something told me at the time not to compound his trouble.

Oh well, back to work...

About 20 years ago I was in Charlotte, NC for a NASCAR race and we decided to take a stroll downtown. A man came up to me and said he was hungry and would I give him some money for a sandwich. Across the street was a liquor store. I told him I was hungry too and I will treat him to a nice juicy hamburger. He said he really didn't like hamburgers so I asked him what he did want to eat. I told him anything his heart desires.

I started walking away to grab that hamburger and he followed me across the street. I told him he was not getting any cash from me but if he was really hungry I would order him his choice of sandwiches. He settled for a hamburger and we went on our way.

I'd be a bum myself if I doled out cash to every derelict who asks in Washington, of course. Every now and then I'll hand over a $5 bill but generally I feel like it just contributes to a greatly worsening problem.

But I am a bit superstitious some times. A while back I suddenly got this feeling that I could guarantee good luck by being generous to the homeless. I decided to give money to everyone who asked on both ends of the subway ride. It cost me about four $5 bills, as I recall.

That night, Kentucky lost to St. Peter's. It has been tough on the bums ever since.

Speaking for myself, I will help a child or older person most anytime. An able-bodied man, I take no pity. (I was in that situation for a time after I got out of the Army and had to have surgery on my left knee and the dealership I was working for in Middlesboro fired me because I couldn't walk, I had only worked there about a month before my knee totally gave out. (Seriously but won't go further.) I had family all around but I was homeless and they never knew it. I never took anything from anyone and I was probably my most honest in my life at that point. I went down to one hundred and fifty two pounds. I lived off loaves of bread back then you could get four loaves for a dollar and I'd scrape a quarter up in various ways. I guess I lived that way for six or more months. I finally healed, I was destitute but I never begged, I never stole anything, I never borrowed. I kept myself reasonably clean. I never forgot that time in my life. I am thankful...
