D-League

For me the floor.

Now the question is: how many mops?

I see a case of Falstaff in the left corner of the picture. The first beer I drank in my life was Falstaff. Sitting on a railroad track in South Alabama. Dizzy Dean use to broadcast baseball games while drinking Falstaff beer. By the 6th inning he was singing Wabash Cannon Ball.

Mike Shannon has been a Cardinal broadcaster for 50 years. I think this is his last year. His nickname as a player was Moon Man or just Moon for short as teammates said he couldn't possibly be from this world. He's famous for Yogi Berra like quotes. Here's a few.

I really love this photo. Reminds me so much of the cool, late spring/early summer evenings back in SE KY. Sit outside, take in the air, drink a couple beers and enjoy those mountains.

I drove from Lexington through West Virginia, then Maryland coming home through mountains with fog such as these. It was an enjoyable drive even through the hard rain most of the way.

My favorite uncle died several years back.....ever since I was a teenager we would talk before every game.........he was the only one I really discussed UK with........with the state of the college game what it is.......I have lost that pizazz that I used to have.......I record every game and the delete them a few days later.........it just doesn't matter like it used to.........I amuse myself in other ways now......I do read what I can find on them.......this last season finished me on RR......the vitriol was crazy.......I would like for sports to go back like it was when I was a kid......they played for the love of the game...... not how much money they could make or how often their mug is on the TV.....today's athlete seems to be under the mistaken belief that they matter........in reality......they don't....they kneel for some crazy racist cause that wants to destroy them and stand in reverence of a country like China.........I have them right along with the Hollywood elites who think they matter........hell.......they lie for a living......it is their specialty......when they stand up and say something.......are they acting?

Hear, hear!!!

Today was my little brother's 60th b'day. Time flies...seems like yesterday he was a little guy crawling around on the floor. Remember when he would put on his toy/plastic Army helmet and his toy machine gun and watch 'Combat'. He was diagnosed about 6 years ago with Parkinson's. Way too young. Of course any age is too young for something like that...or any other deadly disease.
He lives in a fairly small, very nice upscale neighborhood outside Atlanta. Most of his neighbors work at the CDC (headquartered in Atlanta). Won't go into some of the things he's told me that they have said about all this Covid the last year or the vaccine. I'll just say that it's not the standard gov't/Dem/Fauci line.

Bless you OC, I'm a little brother that will turn 60 in just over a month. That touched me as if it were my brother that posted this. I don't have severe health problems (That I know of...) but I indeed absorbed what you posted. My brother will turn 70 one week after I turn 60. My plan is to be with him in Michigan for that day.

Same here. Only sports I've watched is gold (especially the majors) and the Indy 500. Don't miss any of them. Havent watched NBA for about 5 years...and will probably never watch again. NFL since the kneeling started....3-4 years. And no UK b'ball after @UF....which I thought would never happen. Doubt if I watch this year.

I still state Cal will somehow have to figure out how to un-kneel for me to get where I used to be concerning UK. I could have easily looked over a one time thing from the players and chalked that up to either bad people or ignorant/ stupid young people. Cal took it to a level I am not sure he can or I can recover from. We shall see...

Good morning from ATX. Currently 68°F, cloudy and soggy. Occasional flooding in certain areas. More rain expected around noon or so. Today's high may top out around 77°F or so. Considering our average highs during June are 91°F, it's safe to say I'm loving this weather.

Happy Friday!

Wishing happiness and health for all our fellow D-League members.

First thing I saw was the pond (insert homer drooling picture).

Had a really weird dream last night about fishing. Hooked a big one and was getting a good fight with it when the water completely cleared and I could see it wrap the line around a structure on the bottom. I pulled until the line broke then, the bass swam around coming back my way and stuck its head out of the water and mocked me. My daughter started laughing and I woke up. More like a nightmare. ;)

My wife has now started looking up these national whatever days and yesterday in preparation for the day she brought home some chocolate donuts and apple fritters for today. Needless to say, my daughter and I got an early start yesterday,

I have an update on the cancer that was cut out my care taker dog (6 years old). Vet contacted us yesterday and said it is a very aggressive cancer and moves through the system fast. Said that they did not and could not get it all. Gives her maybe 6 months to a year. OKC being the closest place for radiation or whatever we would have to treat everyday for a month or two and he said that he doubts they could stop it so, we are just going to make her life as good as we can until she is uncomfortable or in pain.

Good Friday morning D Leaguers

Currently 69° and partly cloudy. We still need rain at my house but there were heavy scattered showers in the area. I watched it from my back yard but didn't get a drop. About a 1/4 mile away it was pouring but never made it here. We have a 36% chance of rain this afternoon and 60% tonight. Today's high will be 82°

The radio man said add a few more products to the scarce list. Chicken wings and fireworks. When will it stop.

I trust all are well and have a nice day. Drive safely

The 400 mile yard sale is going on this weekend. It basically runs from one end of Ky to the other. Jan wanted to set up with her craft work. Where we are at has 50 vendors and was pretty busy yesterday for the first day and being a Thursday. I was counting mask wearers. Saw 4 people all day long wearing masks out of probably several hundred that we saw.

I know there are many thousands of fans who feel this way. UK basketball was once something I could connect with family and friends and talk for hours. A lot of my family did not listen to or watch a single game for the first time in their life last season. So now that is gone. It should be interesting to see what kind of attendance they get at Rupp this season. I will be surprised if they sell it out. One thing for sure there are no more waiting lists to get season tickets.

Those were the real ugly people from Kentucky that liberals always talk about.

Morning all. There's this big, bright, orange thing in the Eastern sky here in the Buckeye State. Hard to look at. Haven't seen it for a couple of days.

Getting up to the low 80s. Little humidity. Sounds good.

Funny how in some ways that time flies....and others it really drags. Our governor's mask mandate ended either yesterday or Wed (not sure...I never wore one anyway). Sure seemed like a L O N G TWO WEEKS to flatten that curve.

Love, love, love doughnuts. Can gain a couple pounds just looking at them.

Y'all have a good day.

Just finished, 64 and 65, I always want to remember doing good works will not get me to first base without my sins being forgiven.

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Mr. Bernie, where are you set up at?

I see an occasional mask wearer and almost always it is an out of state visitor. I guess we need a sign at the state line "NO MASK REQUIRED"

Yesterday kicked off the Python Removable Challenge in the Everglades. It runs for 10 days in July. Awards will be given for the most pythons caught and the largest.

BBUK is headed down with his crew and is determined he is going to win this thing. GO BBUK, get that snake.

Is that the Rt. 127 yard sale.......the 127 yard sale goes from Michigan almost to the southern coast........my daughter...(English Flare Interiors) and myself traveled it a few years back........we only went about 75 miles of it south of Frankfort.......my daughter is into the re-purposed funiture and signs.......she started the furniture deal while living in England and added the signs after moving back to KY....she's got a good gig going on.......she's got crafty hands.......

I never thought it possible but i did not watch one uk basketball or football game this past year, and i don’t plan on watching again any time soon. i’ve soured on all sports except for watching my grandsons. i still like to watch golf, which has managed to keep the socialist pc bullshit away.
As usual I watched all the UK football and basketball. The kneeling pissed me off because they insulted my country.

That will not be happening. I once heard a well known radio talk show host say Calipari is the most liberal coach in college basketball. Now that his side has won he will dig deeper into his liberalism. Remember what his number one goal is. Hint it is not winning NCAA titles.

It is a warm 66.2°F and sunny here.

On the kneeling at Florida; I don't think that Cal ever really understood the damage that that would cause. What pissed me off was all the assistants, players and managers did it. That is such a poor statement to make to those young men and the followers of the team. Not one of them was man enough to stand.

Cal will never live it down and I don't see much glory in the future of UK basketball. He has lost the trust of the fans.

That reminds me of a song
Sonny Osborne is on of my personal banjo idols.........y'all would think I was stupid if I was to confess how many hours I have spent learning his style of 5-string banjo style...........the saying is......"by the time I learned that song the Director was ready to divorce me"........her claim.......cruel and unusual punishment.......

I have seen the Osbornes many times and I must have every record they have recorded. Sonny was one of the best. The last I heard he had severe arthritis and was not touring anymore. Bobby is still going strong the last I heard.

And I too have spent countless hours laying on the floor and listening to the rain and every other record they recorded. The best is all I can say

Just doing a Fly By in my "sport model" alien space craft. We're headed out to Montana to check out Glacier NP for a few days. Hopefully the Good Lord will bless us with good weather and health so we can check this NP off of our list. Be GOOD BBN! And keep an eye on those skies! 👽👽
The Going to the Sun Road is one of the all-time best scenic ones.

There is a giant Krispy Kreme facility in W. Chicago......when you go into the front door, they have a lady with two drum sticks handing fresh glazed she is picking off of the line......just as they get the glaze bath......fluffy, hot........damn things disappear like cotton candy........absolutely wonderful......

I can't begin to know how many times I have seen them.........when I was playing a lot of music, we would go to one or two fesivals a month.......April-Oct.........in the late 80's & early 90's the Osborne Bros were doing a lot of festivals..........a guy that played music with us had a squeeze that was in charge of volunteers at the IBMA festivals......got to meet a lot of musicians and into a lot of festivals on the cheap.......

My oldest daughter passed her driver's exam today. I told her when she was young, I would treat her accordingly to her grades. Well going into her Senior year, she is ranked #1 in her class. She's taking 5 college level classes next year, and has already scored an 26 on the ACT. So you know what dad got to do? Buy her a car to honor my promise (worth every bit of it too) I've already made the same deal with my youngest daughter.
