D-League

Two of them are dead, and I heard that Nesmith wasn't performing anymore. If that's true, it would just leave Mickey Dolenz. Maybe Nesmith has rejoined.
Although he's performed a few times over the years, I seem to recall that Nesmith never wanted to tour with them. Don't know if there was some friction/personality problems or what. Of course he shouldn't need the money between what he has done and his mother's money (if he was willed it).

Any of the D, fix Brussel Sprouts, if so how do you cook them?

Ineresting, I too like them roasted, I prefer to Sautee in cast iron with a lemon slice or 2. Same reasons to caramelize for favor and soften the cellulose for chewing and and digestion. Been known to add a sprinkle graded cheese over finished product.
We roast them in the oven with teriyaki sauce on them. Very good with the carmalization from the sauce.
The Mrs got the recipe from a cooking demonstration at a Country Living Fair she went to a few years ago. (County Living is a magazine and they put on a 2/3 day fair/exp every year. It started out in Ohio a number of years ago and now I think they have them in Atlanta, maybe Nashville, out West, etc. I've gone with her a few times...she prefers going with her friends...when I've seen everything I'm ready to go...she wants to see EVERYTHING. Pretty good expo but it costs about $20 to get in)

She did it all while working 30-40 hours per week. She is a very hard working young lady who I am proud to call my daughter.
I graduated cum laude while working 40 hours a week and having a wife and two kids. I worked my tail off to accomplish that. Never once in the 47 years after graduating did a single question or inquiry about my college GPA ever come up. 2.0 would have given me the same life results.

Someone posted this photo on Facebook today. A newspaper article I don't ever remember seeing. I'm in the photo. Can you believe I was a starter in spite of being a runt in those days? I turned 17 the day this was published.

Awesome clip. If I'm not mistaken, I'm now related to Tim Reece (third row, far right) via my granddaughter.

Y'all beat Harlan that night? :)

Good morning from ATX. Currently 70°F and cloudy. Expecting 89°F for our high.

Grabbed Tex-Mex takeout from El Mercado last night. Wife got a plate with two beef enchiladas, beef taco and chili con queso. I chose just two enchiladas, rice and beans AND a frozen margarita. Good stuff.

Wake Forest defeated our Cats 2-1 in men's soccer yesterday. Boo!

No football, no college basketball. Only NBA. Bah!

Wishing happiness and health for all our fellow D-League members.

Good Saturday Morning

We woke up to a very cool morning down here with a temperature of 59° and winds NE at 8 mph. The humidity is 46%, the skies are clear and the sun shines bright. Our high will be a little warmer today reaching a high of 80° at 2:00 PM and the humidity will drop to 27%. The UV index is EXTREME. The pool is 86°.

A good day for doing what you want to do. That coconut cream pie looks mighty fine, I might need to take in a piece of that some time today.

Trust all are well and feeling good on this day before Mother's Day. Stay out of the fog.

It is 51.8°F and overcast. We were supposed to get rain last night but just cloud cover. We are supposed to top out at 60°F with rain today and tomorrow. This is the weather that my grass simply loves. I am going to need to mow Sunday, but if it rains I will be paling hay Monday.

Yeah, that looks good, especially for a coconut-a-holic like me.

Good morning D-League. It was 39F and raining this morning when I headed out on my hike. But in the right gear that's not unpleasant. Listen to an interesting multi-part podcast called The Line about the trial of Navy Seal Eddie Gallagher who was accused of knifing an ISIS prisoner - but was found not guilty.

Spoiler Alert: I backed Gallagher before I knew all the details of the case. And back him more after listening to the podcast. But it was an interesting dive into the life of the guys at the point of the spear during nearly 20 years of combat deployments.

Good morning! Got up early and put a brisket on the egg. Last I checked it was tooling along at a leisurely 225°. It will probably creep up a little as time goes by. Talked to a friend the other day I hadn't seen in a while and he now has an extra large egg to go with his large. Doubt I'll go that route since I've already built this table, but it would be nice to have a little more room every now and then.

All you science deniers have no idea what climate change means. If it's cold when it should be hot, climate change. If it's hot when it should be cold, if it rains too much, if it rains too little, if there's a hurricane or a tornado...CLIMATE CHANGE!!! Can't you see?

Humans simply have to realize just how important we are to the Earth and to the universe itself for that matter. All of this was useless until we came along and gave it a purpose.

Sun shining bright and heading up to a sweltering May 8th of 54 degrees. Rain forecast for all day on Mothers Day so I think it will be a take out Mothers Day meal from Cracker Barrel or Bob Evans. Or....whatever SHE wants.

One thing I know that will be desert after dinner is coconut cream pie (I'm always a day late and a dollar short).
Told her the other day that I would make her one for MD. She says I make the best she's ever had (Mom's recipe....but I think stolen from one of the cooking books back in the day). She probably just says that to butter me up so I'll make them for her. Also make a good chocolate if I say so myself.

Got her a calla lily when running errands this morning...so there's that. Even though she's not the mother of my children, she's a great Mom to hers. Sometimes too much so in that she does things (especially one) that is over and above what she should....kind of like buying booze for an alcoholic if you get my drift.

In all seriousness I was born 100 years too late. I can not related to today's world and I don't want to.
Sawnee, I don't feel that way about you at all.

Interesting last sentence. Living in this place, it is not useless to me. I'm always learning and growing in the limits of my perceptions, I didn't give it purpose.

I just got back from spending the night at my folks house. There's nothing scarier than seeing my Dad's name on caller ID at 2:30 in the morning. Another dizzy spell from vertigo/inner ear. It just lays him out cold. He has medicine for dizziness and nausea but he can only take them when a spell comes on. Problem is that he vomits them out most of the time so they're worthless. My poor mother can barely walk so it's particularly stressful for her. I wish I could do more but sometimes I feel helpless.

OK. Part B: That my friend is faith. With all of the stinkers among farts, I do believe it's healthy I have a weak olfactory senses, I can only inform what I know about human divinity. The existence of our divinity is no greater a miracle than our existence in multiple Goldilock zones.

Once again, that was meant to be pretty thick sarcasm. I'm not as important to the Earth as the average tree.
